This is the full batch size I used for the cake slices (for the topping see below)
RECIPE - Cold process Soap
OIL FAZE
700g (24.7oz) Olive Oil (19.44%)
1000g (35.3oz) Sunflower (27.78%)
800g (28.2oz) Coconut Oil (22.22%)
800g (28.2oz) Palm Oil. (22.22%)
150g (5.2oz) Cocoa Butter. (4.17%)
150g (5.2oz) Shea Butter (4.17%)
WATER FAZE
524g (18.4oz) Sodium Hydroxide
700g (24.6oz) Distilled Water (if making simply for home use and not to sell, tap water will do finely)
You can increase your water content up to 1171g (41oz) if you prefer.

Karen, I have my own soap frosting recipe that works very well for me. Nice & creamy, great pipeable consistency, overal great recipe. I thought I would try yours. I have to say.....your recipe ROCKS!! It's every bit as good if not better than mine and I've been soaping for almost 20 years now. Fragrance percentage is worked out on the weight of the oil in the recipe not the batch weight.

I think I may have commented already, I'm watching the new mixed in with the old but these are really so cute, the colors sparkling and festive, they're a gorgeous addition to your already lovely Christmas line. Now to get down to business haha. This is me sticking my nose where I shouldn't but that usually doesn't stop me, so please forgive my forthrightness. I've watched many, many videos, mostly yours, but others too from curiosity. I have also visited many of their websites and I have to say Karen, your products are so special and made with suck care and an eye to detail and.....you're just not charging enough. I'm sorry if it's rude of me. But so many others whose products are not nearly as nice...charge so much more. YOU should be making that money...your products are MORE than worth it. I'll shut up now....hey! It's almost 1pm here! Maybe there will be another Karen video :-). Please get plenty of rest also....I'm allowed to say that, I'm 73 and have a "mothering complex."

Such lovely work! What temp do you usually soap at? I have issues with my batter being either too thick for soap or too thin for piping. I usually work at 83-93 degree F, but I wait for hours for my frosting to thicken and it still doesn’t work well, sometimes. I think I have seen in the past that you use the same recipe for your frosting as for your base, is that correct?

congratulations on your Christmas collection they are stunning. to work out % of a volume, = volume x % . 3% of 1000 = 1000 x .03 will give you 3%, 1000 x .05 will give you 5% by volume, 1000 x .10 will give you 10% by volume. you may find this an easier way to find % hope this is helpful.
What are the measurements of the cupcake molds used here?
Hey karen I'm a new soap maker what is the difference between craft glitter and the one you put in your soaps...you are so awesome
I'm not Karen, but can help explain.
Craft glitter is not usually safe for make-up and the glitter sold for soaping is make-up safe, meaning that it shouldn't be applied to the body. I personally love the eco-glitter! It will break-down unlike craft glitter, making it safe for the environment

These are very beautiful. I love the colours together. The music in the video was way, way too loud though. You talk so quietly, and then with the music coming on so loud, it is very jarring, then I turn the volume down, and then I can't hear you... but other than that, it was a great video 👍

Hii, can you tell me (or anyone in the comments) my wax melts keep ‘sweating’ I am only adding 8% fragrance
And I hear the wax to 85C and add my fragrance then and it does seem to dissolve fully
Then cool to 55C to pour
But when they come out they aren’t smooth out of the moulds and they are sort of grainy and oily!! Can anyone help!
Try heating to 70c instead, that's what I do for mine, then I add the colour, then I let it cool to 65c to add fragrance, then to about 60c to pour :)
Lovely soaps, but your calculations are wrong. regulations for the UK are for 3% fragrance oil in the finished soap, so you shouldn't be using the weight of your whole soap batch as by the time the soap is cured your bars will have too much fragrance oil. You should be doing 3% of your oils plus lye weight plus 10% of your water weight
