As a usopp fan I've fantasized about this moment for a long time. would be really cool if when strawhats arrive on elbaf and theyr speaking to the king/royals or whoever being given the exposition for the arcs conflict, usopp is just goofing around in the background telling stories about his greatness to the giant kids, they are laughing/having fun then also start sharing stories about the legend of mjolnir which is in the room and how no one no matter how strong/great of a warrior has been able to lift it for over 800 years
usopp ofc brags that for him it would be an easy task cus he bicep curls mountains for breakfast, saying he can even lift it with one hand then he grabs it and actually lifts it, and initially even he's slightly confused by how light it is but plays it off
but there's an immediate shift in tone, the kids stop smiling/laughing, all the adult giants in the room immediately stop what their doing, including the exposition which stops mid explanation, and all giants are staring at him silently mouth and eyes wide open, in genuine fear and awe, ironically similar to a human seeing a giant for the first time after only hearing childrens fairy tales about them

Personally I think he needs just one power up: The world's best observation haki to completely negate Van Ogre's teleportation. This wouldn't make him a powerhouse so it keeps with Oda's declaration that he will never be one, but in a battle of snipers, the first to hit the target wins.
Or maybe just 1. Consider Usopp getting the paw-paw fruit. He would be able to sling highly condensed air. Which would make it almost impossible for Auger to target him because of his ability to repel attacks.

3:44 Usopp was the first one to react and even run before the rest even noticed when that shark robot tried to eat the whole Thousand Sunny. He probably already has some sort of future sight. Luffy got it in the heat of a battle but remember Usopp has always been looking out for potencial danger.

There is another option: Usopp gets a gun. Or rather, he builds himself a gun. Besides being the crew's sniper, self proclaimed vice-captain, and makeshift shipwright, he always was a gadgeteer, an inventor, a toymaker. It would be fun to see him getting an upgrade to full on gunsmith. As iconic as his sling is, it always was a kid's weapon. Graduating from sling to gun would work as a metaphor for growing up. Not being a kid just pretending to be a brave warrior of the sea anymore.
That would be cool, but his whole gimmick was the slingshot, so I think he still with that idea until the end. The idea that a slingshot is harder to use and aim compare to any gun could show the uniqueness of ussop.

I think the reason he was able to one shot the biscuits was because they were damp from the cold environment due to kuzan freezing the battlefield , even cracker was chilly so it might have effected his biscuit making skills on top of the fact that the biscuits absorbed the moisture

I like the future site theory the most. Since it only works when you're calm and collected, it would force Usopp to overcome his biggest weakness of being too scared. He'd literally have to force himself to be a brave warrior in order to use future sight. It would be a huge opportunity for character development.
I really really like the Thors hammer idea for Usopp I just don’t see him being able to have the strength to lift a giant heavy hammer like that but if it actually is like Mjolnir where you just have to be worthy to lift it can easily work

Can't beleive I have to say this but actual Mjolnir has nothing to do with worthiness. Its just really heavy. So, heavy that Thor has to increase his strength with his belt and gloves. The worthiness enchantment was made up by Marvel.
Which is why the slingshot idea almost makes perfect sense. Usopp beats Loki by slinging the hammer at him, but due to fate or happenstance the giants believe Usopp is wielding Mjolnir and hail him as a strong warrior.
Usopp remains our beloved liar while wielding Mjolnir, beats the BBEG to prove he is a brave warrior of the sea, and fulfills both his "8000 followers" and "10 ton hammer" lies in one fell swoop.

Maybe not mjölnir itself, but I can see Usopp using a mjölnir-inspired technique, some projectile that flies back to him. He has used trajectory-altering techniques before, with dials, spins and even self-redirecting projectiles.

I think it would be absolutely sick if Usopp was able to imbue his projectiles with observation haki. That would allow an array of different things for him: he could make the projectiles seek out the opponent, he could get use it as a form of surveillance as well, or to even add to the second option he could be used almost like a video game support character and allow others to see what his projectiles see or what he can see, akin to him and Yasopp sharing their sight in Film Red

Learning that there is a hammer that nobody can wield and usopp picks it up, and he just has it, and he shoots it and it comes back... I actually had considered him getting a hammer in elbaf too cuz I've watched one piece multiple times cuz of reaction videos(don't judge me please) and I've noticed the hammer thing, but I did not think this deep, hope Oda does though. But I doubt it man, I can't wait till there actually is a hammer, but fucking Luffy/Zoro/Sanji get it instead or some shit.

My take on the Pop Green issue is that Wano was foreshadowing his pop green development by showing that he needs to improve in specifically firepower. However, I think the advanced pop greens won't be because Elbaf big. I have a feeling Noland went to Elbaf, since he's been to Shandora and Dressrosa, two kingdoms inhabited by inhuman races. Using his pre-established connection to Noland, Usopp will learn off his botanical advancements and engineer or grow his own supercharged pop greens. Just a headcanon ofc but it'd be cool.
It was actually Big Moms Haki that Usopp took credit for, I believe while she was fighting Law and Kid.
Usopp’s weapon eating a DF being a mirror for Zeus actually lends weight to that being the outcome. Usopp and Nami have always mirrored eachother in their progression. Clima-tact and Ginga Pachinko; dials enhancing them to Perfect Clima-tact and Kabuto; weather balls and pop greens; sorcery Clima-tact and black kabuto. It just makes sense for Black Kabuto to eat a DF. I thought it was gonna eat a SMILE fruit in Wano since that’s associated with Kaido and would mirror Nami getting a power up from Big Mom.
Whatever powerup he gets, it has to be something that complements his trickster nature. I guess its fitting that he's going to meet king Loki in Elbaf. I'm down for the observation Haki with future sight. Alternatively, a good powerup for Usopp would be a shift in mindset. Nothing too big but just him becoming more confident in his skills to outsmart his opponent. Its one of the reason why the Perona fight is my favorite Usopp moment.
Been typing this everywhere but the Van Auagr feat makes sense if we look at marksman like swordsman.
Swordsman can cut what they want and won’t scratch what they don’t.
If we add this logic to marksman then Van Auagr wanted to shoot Cracker’s soldiers but wanted to shoot Law rather than Jean Bart. If we think of it this way then it would make sense that a shot aimed at a human was able to be blocked by a durability beast whilst a shot aimed at a biscuit soldier would be able to penetrate biscuits.
We also see Van Auagr square off vs Yassop so this idea that he can’t be strong because he was meant to fight Usopp just makes no sense to me.

In norse mythology mjölnir is just really heavy meaning only thor can wield it (groups of giants have been known to work together to move it). Thor in marvel comics introduces worthiness and the hammer being summoned back to the wielder. I feel Oda would look at the mythology over pop culture so it might not fit.
Great video! I think i read somewhere that Usopp was designed to be a relatable character for us viewers so there would never be a devil fruit scenario. Also, honestly, too many anchors is a risk for any pirate crew. One thing i was going to add is that Usopp is literally the engineer of the group -- to make Nami's weapon and not really come up with anything useful really since then is a let down.. I mean, why not invent lifejacket bracelets or something for the devil fruit users, etc. He's underused :(
Yeah I thought when Franky joined Usopp and him would start to work on engineering together. But all we've seen is Franky make cool vehicles or weapons for himself which makes sense for his character to not want to produce a ton of weapons. I just think he would want to give his friends an extra fighting chance. My one gripe with One Piece is that there are some little things that should make a bigger impact in the story than they did. Like Dials they are all over the place now for basic utilities like cooking and music but the impact dial and all the dials for that matter haven't seen much use in combat for awhile.

my theory for Usopp's power up has something to do with his mobility... being the crew's sniper, he needs an ability to instantly distance himself from his target, either for escape or finding a better vantage point.. this would solve his weakness in close combat and boost his utility as a sniper..
maybe he could get this power up through some technology in Egghead, a devil fruit or maybe an animal companion he'd meet later in Elbaf..
He should’ve BEEN fighting like they do on Skypiea huh. He doesn’t necessarily need to use the impact dials but he can flame throw electrify shit even fly
A more accurate one would be the type of Observation Haki which Enel had,he could see the entirety of sky islaand and hears the voices of the living.
Also if we're speaking of mjolnier(thor's hammer) we might as well mention the legend of Tuatha De Dannan,which Oda-Sensei took a lot of inspiration such as the D clan and other stuff,in this legend there's a great treasure that consists of mainly 4 things, 1st the Stone of Kings which chooses who gets to to be the king of Tuatha De Dannan,if i remember correctly there was this dude who's similar to Black Beard who wennt to that stone but it didn't choose him so then he destroyed it,but anyway the 2nd is a(i don't rememmber if it's cursed or saacred) sword which is supposed to be the strongest sword iin the world, 3rd being a pot that produces endless food from everywhere,and lastly 4th is spear that could hit any target from any spot in the planet,i think these 4 do reflect some aspects of all four of Luffy(with the stone of kings or the poneglyph in laughtale), Zoro(with the strongest sword in the world), Sanji(the endless pot or you can the the all blue), and Usopp(with the spear),all of which havving a symbol that looks a lot like Sanji's eyebrows.

Never really thought of the hammer idea but you make a lot of sense. Not to mention that Usopp could just toss the hammer like a snipe shot lol i think it conflicts with Nami's electric abilities but it would be pretty cool and encourage his haki by feeling choosen.

In terms of matchup against Van Augur, other than having an observation haki, the upgrade that he can have is having the Paw Paw Fruit. Can match up the pacing and distance by predicting others movement.
Tbf I didn't go through the entire catalog of devil fruits to take every single one into consideration, but since its introduction I felt like Kanjuro's brush-brush fruit would be perfect for Usopp. I don't rly believe it'll happen (cries), but he could utilize it properly since he can draw well and is very creative, and since Kanjuro is dead it can reappear. It would enhance his current fighting style AND story-telling abilities while also making my head explode just thinking of all the new possibilities it would grant him. I'd.. I'd really love that
I feel the power up will be advanced haki that lets him talk to his plant ammo. He has been using living ammo that he has to grow, so what about seeing through it, setting more advanced traps. Auger can move around, but he will never be hidden
I feel you on ussop during the raid, was hoping at the very least he’d whip out some sea stone nails to try and give himself a upper hand in the fight
Even crazier would be if Usop became giant. He is obsesed with them since Alabasta arc. Also there were so many talks about research how to create giants from regular people.
The straw hats are super unique they seem to have all aspects in the world we’ve seen so far besides like a few races of characters on the main crew. Only thing we don’t have is an item that ate a devil fruit kabuto has a mouth so he should be able to eat a devil fruit. I think he will be the one who gets a logia type fruit something elemental to go with the pop greens.
I love the Hammer theory & the DF theory but what if we combined them?
remember van augurs introduction..... he was sniping pigeons from jaya so hard that they didn't realize they were shot until like way later.... i'd say usopp managed to snipe that far only back in dressrosa with that crazy sniper shot on sugar....... he finally reached levels of distance sniping that van augur had in jaya when usopp was in dressrosa... it's not really farfetched to say van augur is crazy good, one shotting biscuit soldiers is crazy though.
i do find a new advanced observation or future sight both compelling, usopp has always felt like the one who should've been the strongest at it in one piece for me, way back when we were starting to learn what it was
mjöllnir, would be funny especially cause of the 5ton/10ton hammers he has used.... because as youve said mjöllnir can't be picked up by anyone unworthy so him just casually picking it up would be like those joke hammers going full circle and him finally picking something up that is actually super heavy but him acting like it's paper, instead of the usual reverse where he picked up something light but acted like it was heavy.
i don't think new popgreens will happen, but upgraded pop greens might happen. pop greens come specifically from the island usopp and hercules was on during the timeskip, unless elbaf also has living plant life i don't think we'll see any new pop greens, but as you said there might be something about elbaf that makes things bigger so the soil being used to make bigger pop greens was intriguing.
i think he will unlock his conq haki as like a final blast to defeat his final opponent, and maybe he at first goes to thank someone for helping him but then realizing no one was close or particularly focused on him and his opponent and realize that he was truly the only one who could've used that haki and finally views himself as someone great, as he becomes a conq haki user
as for a devil fruit, i do think it's actually more reasonable now than ever, as you highlighted they are with the man who made it possible for objects to have fruits. if it's usopp or not though i don't know. i think it could be cool for one of zoros swords to get it and that elevating it to supreme grade. or maybe the general franky/franky shogun (cause it feels kind of underwhelming). or the sunny, but i wonder how that would even work as it's part way in water and if it would take away from big moms queen mama chanter as the currently only "living" ship.
If his staff did get a DF it’s should be the bombardier beetle. They spray a chemical toxin in the air. They use it for defense mostly. It would give him something that could shoot.

Personally, my guess for Usopp’s power-up is either a spear of light/lightning or a Thor like Hammer of lightning; I lean more towards the spear because of little details in the story I think hint at Luffy getting a sword from Shanks & a spear from Usopp 🤷🏾♂️

I mean I’ve always thought that if either usopp or his slingshot were to get a devil fruit is it would be a Zoan devil fruit being a giant Hercules beetle; just seems thematic to me, would suit the look of the slingshot as well as the “giant” aspect working well with whatever character development occurred in Elbaf

Hearing the Idea of him getting Mjolnir had me thinking if Vegapunk had a weapon that would mimic the idea with the user wearing a belt that the hammer would return to, or if Vegapunk could feed a hammer with some kind of flying zoan so that it could fly back and even fight with him. But as you said the likelihood of these kind of powerups are .....a Long Shot 🙃
When Usopp unlocked observation on Dressrosa i thought there would be more emphasis on it but the fact we ve went through a couple of arcs now with no mention of it kind if bothers me. I wish Wano provided a power up to all the straw hats or atleast some understanding of a their new abilities. Wano was supposed to be that arc but fell through the cracks for a few characters Franky Brook Chopper and Usopp
I could see Ussop obtaining an advanced observation that allows his shots to have homing properties, essentially counter Van Auger
Idk about the hammer because it would be too much like marvel thor, but there could be a weapon with some of the characteristics of the hammer, like lightning or elemental powers, the weapon voming back to him and the fact that only the worthy can pick it up, and maybe the weapon could transform itself based on who it’s owner is and when usopp picks it up it becomes a slingshot that can shoot lightning, maybe fire, water and wind bullets and have a couple of other powers.

Well considering that quite possibly both the Adam tree and the other Giant Jack at the real entrance of the white sea are on elbaf, the island would indeed have more than one precedent with powerful plants

one thing to note is that in terms of weapon projectile speed. Usopps slingshot should theoretically be much faster than Augers sniper because Usopp beat Frankys machine gun even tho franky shot his gun first.
All of Norse Mythology weapons/powers might be a clue to all of Ussops future powerups. For example if you played God of war Ragnarok you would know about the dude Hiemdall that can see all. His sight powers coud be a hint to Ussop's advanced observation haki. Like syv said he could also get thors hammer or odins spear.
i hope usopp and frankie make a modified sling shot extension or another weapon for usopp to use.

Nah, hes gonna eat kumas paw fruit. Then hes not gonna use a slingshot anymore but instead he will use his hands to shoot the pop greens. He may also get an observation haki boost in which case he would be able to snipe someone from islands away. Additionally the paw paw fruit is called the nikyu nikyu. This means 2-9. Similiarly, luffys gomu gomu means 5-6, choppers hito hito means 1-10, robins hana hana means 8-7, and lastly brooks yomi yomi means 4-3. This leaves 2 and 9 as the only numbers in devil fruit names that the straw hats havent yet aquired. And yes i know that luffys is also the hito hito but that was most likely not odas original plan and thus i think its a fair to look past that. If we look at the straw hats ussop if long overdue for a power up and is the only potential candidate. Franky said that he would never eat a devil fruit, sanji refuses to use his hands, nami just got a power up, jinbes a fishman, and zorro wields swords. There are also more parallels. For example when luffy and ussop are fighting way back in water 7, ussop doesn't hit him with a punch, he hits him with his palm which has a impact shell strapped to it (ironically it kinda looks like kumas paws). Also we already know that ussop was ready to crash out over the going merry showing his dedication to protecting the ship. And we know that kuma asked vegapunk to program him to protect the thousand sunny during the timeskip. If ussop gets the devil fruit he would become very very strong as he essentialy has the same power as van-auger but with more utility. Ussop is very resourceful and kumas fruit is one of the most versatile in the series.
I like the idea of the mystical hammer the best. That would really reinforce his title as "God Usopp" if he was able to control a weapon of legend.
He can use the hammers electricity and put it in his garden to make his shots more faster and maybe some of them could change a bit like evolve

usop probably use different kind of haki, more of sniper kind of Haki, not Predict but detects into the minute details like:How the wind changes,the Humidity of air, Gravitational pull etc

Usopp really encapsulates the archetype of “Jack of all trades master of none” obviously he is a amazing sniper, but he also is a good shipwright, a good helmsman, a good navigator, idk if he can cook, he’s a decent doctor as we saw before Chopper came and he also is good at helping Chopper, he can even sing with Brook and tinker like franky. He’s clearly a very strong character who could solo anyone not in the New World. But in the New World he’s a tadpole in a massive ocean cus the New World is the land of the masters
To expand on the idea of Thor's hammer it is possible that there is a mythical zoan in elbaf. Now that we have multiple vegapunks they might be able to infuse the devil fruit into a hammer, spear or slingshot. Or there might be already a great weapon in Elbaf that has the mythical zoan inside, this weapon could be sacred to the giants and I don't think it would be crazy if the myical zoan chose Ussop. There is a myth regarding a spear that never misses (Odin's spear), it might be possible for ussop to get his hands on it and use it. Since elbaf will be a Nordic themed arc, I hope the mythical fruit of the world's snake is there, that could allow ussop to wield the weapon whenever he wanted and no one else. There's even a myth where Thor tries to lift it (while disguise as a cat ) and he can't. I think it would fit ussops character perfectly.
I’ve always predicted/wanted to see Usopp learn that giant attack, I forget the name but the one Dory and Broggy use on the goldfish and big mom always uses, but of course rather than a sword he would manifest it in the form of a super powered sniper shot

My second favorite upgrade would def be kabuto eating a fruit it would be cool to see oda make kabuto the first df weapon to use haki itself as we haven’t seen that I don’t think
Combine a few of those ideas. Maybe mjolnir is a hammer that ate a devil fruit and that’s where it gets it’s lightning powers, ability to return to who ever threw it, the reason it won’t let anybody use it who isn’t “worthy”
Since all of the straw hats can't get devil fruits themselves cuz it would make the crew to vulnerable, I could very well see ussop. Maybe someone else getting an item that's eaten the devil fruit. Imagine ussop gets a new slingshot that's alive or his bag could be an infinite space to hold anything and everything he needs
One theory I read that I’m a big fan of is Usopp defeating Prince Loki or some other important giant and thus becoming the head of Elbaf’s military, at least temporarily/in honorary capacity. One of Usopp’s most famous and recurring lies is having thousands of men under his command, and considering that pretty much every Giant ever adores him, it wouldn’t be a stretch for him to have the world’s strongest military under his command. The fight itself would definitely be based on David and Goliath, with Usopp definitely being based on David because of his use of a slingshot and his titles of King of the Snipers and God Usopp (David being God’s chosen king for Israel). Not sure how that would translate to his future fights outside of Elbaf, but he could at that point unlock Conqueror’s Haki. Furthermore, Nami defied Big Mom by stealing Zeus, while Usopp would be one-upping her by becoming the head of the race that despises her.

Mjolnir as a weapon is kind of funny when you think about it because hammers are generally a symbol of strength while mjolnir can only be lifted by the worthy (subject to interpretation) which isn’t dependent on their physical strength essentially making it an immovable object and if it’s used to strike someone they would not be able to withstand it unless they were worthy because it’s an immovable object

I don't think he will get it, but the paw paw fruit would be perfect. He's shown that he's willing to use his hands with impact dials, and it would offer a great counter to van augers movement.
Usopp is about to get crazy future sight. He will have to use it to see where van auger is teleporting when they fight.
I'm hoping all the non-Monster Quartet Strawhats get a power-up before the Final War. Robin should definitely know haki by now and Franky needs some sort of Seaprism Stone upgrades.
I love the Mjolnir theory. Maybe Mother Carmel made it with the Soul Soul fruit and no one has managed to lift it so far. Usopp somehow lies his way to owning it and becomes 'worthy'.
There's a theory that Van Augur was able to one shot Cracker's soldiers because Kuzan caused the temperature to drop making the soldiers more brittle and easier to break. Similar to how Nami helped to soften the soldiers for luffy with water.

Ya it'll probably be on par with Shanks in some ways by the end of the series and it's definitely the most likely option here. I hope his arsenal/weaponry gets better too though.

@ayojuice21 No. Luffy will always be superior to all his screwmates in term of haki, also he have Voice of all things wich is technicaly an ultra rare skill from the observation haki tree that to date only roger, luffy, momonosuke and Oden had. Not even shank have that nor other top tier haki users. luffy's haki is said to be stronger than shanks and roger's and maybe even xebec at the end of the series
