funny you mentioned that you mentioned having to play with gain due to it being Ryan's sig but Ryan actually always uses a clean tone
Exactly what I came here to say. Just straight bass. And compression.
some clean channels have gain, gain doesnt mean overdrive. You can have high gain from a clean section of an amp and it not be distorted
Off the top of my head I know in the bridge of “IMN” he has some overdrive and I believe he’s using his Pedulla in that section as well
"Hey Vin, can you build me a Thumb?"
"Umm... I could, but like... Warwick already does that..."
"Yeah totally. But yeah, like, can you do it anyway?"
They sound nothing alike warwick is so amazing.
@@jamesobrien8529 I think it sounds very similar to Ryan's Warwicks.
They did 26 frets like the Thumb! I think it does a great job making that signature Ryan tone! This is a dream bass for me!! What a masterpiece build they have done for Ryan! They gave him the Luv he deserved from Warwick for over a decade their loss,
Been waiting. Thank you thank you.
I get why he uses the blondie. It sounds more like him.
Love the Warwick nods. Like the angled double j pickups, wenge neck and 26 frets.
Was surprised to see a shift from warwick. But seeing he has a signature bass from THE name in bass guitars... couldn't be more proud.
At least I can afford a warwick. 🥰😅
Pretty cool right!?!
Man you got that right! The price of these breaks my heart, the standard is cool, but I want that 11k one lol
Finally!! Thanks for putting this one out y’all!
I don't know what the EQ settings are but this bass sounds dull and veiled compared to Ryan's Warwick and can't touch its growl, punch, and presence to my ears!
Killer tone!
Yo cool another bass I’ll NEVER afford in my entire life 😅
This is why you mostly only see pro musicians playing fodera. Though these are pretty cheap comparatively, At $6600 the Warwick thumb bass that Ryan is known for playing is about $4500 to $5500 new. And most foderas start at $8000
It sounds so diffrent than a warwick thumb bass
The scale length, neck wood, pickup placement and number of frets are exactly the same as a Thumb bass - go figure...
@@cd0u50c9 Yeah and ? It is not because of those that it will sound the same as a Warwick. A Thumb does sound completely different.
That's what i'm sayin , is so diffrent . But this fodera sounds more versatile for some reason
@@vladconstantin6312 I found it less mid heavy
And there is no high end compare to a Thumb
It's the Hartke, I bet if you go direct it's not that different, also, the frets on warwicks make a difference in the sound
This bass is killer 😊
Hey I hate to be blunt but did something happen to the guy with the red hair and glasses (I forgot his name lol) I noticed you took down all the videos he was in
First thing should have been standing up with the bass strapped on and pointing out that it doesn’t neck dive like a Thumb.
They can always do a short Instagram clip demonstrating this.
That is an excellent point!
Can it Jaco ??? 😂 that’s a good one 👍🏻
It's essentially a monarch and a thumb bass made some babies and these 2 basses where born
Pretty solid take haha!
Is the waist on those wider than the Monarch?
The body is smaller than a normal monarch with the same specs
Its nothing like a war only thing is the 26 fret and j pickup honestly there are basses with more than 26 fret so u cannot compare it to warwick
Ryan never played anything with gain on it what does that even mean 😅
Off the top of my head, the bridge on “IMN” he has some fuzz going, but that’s definitely not his standard tone.
The fancier Thumb NT😂
only. 8k! awesome ! everyone can afford it
Until rn I hated fodera for being to quiet. And I'm surprised by the emg pickups. I do still believe and pray that one day he has a signature MTD model
Звучит на 500 баксов...
Why does these basses cost so much, but they're not even neck through? I need to get a grip... A bassist of 20+ years playing neck through basses, switches to Fodera and goes bolt-on for lowering the cost? I find that hilarious! I also find the tone rather uninspiring.
So, it is basically their version of a Warwick Thumb (proportions, PU placement, frets number and material, neck... )
...But it is almost 12k, and does not come even close to the sound of a Thumb (which is around half that price).
Fodera are THE most overpriced and overrated instruments around.
