I first heard this song done by NRBQ on their, "At Yankee Stadium," album. I all ways wanted to know what the original version sounded like. This tune came out in 1967 and was written by Sherlie Matthews. I wonder why any of these versions aren't played on the radio. I enjoy both versions.
Coming out of Compton California,The Olympics with lead singer Walter Ward had some top drawer Northern Soul sounds on the Mirwood record label in the mid-sixties,.ktf.
