When I began documenting my pregnancy journey I never imagined I would be sharing these types of videos. I imagined things to be all butterflies, rainbows and pure bliss. Unfortunately it hasn't felt that way for me 100% of the time, and I know I'm not alone.
Talking about, and sharing mental health struggles isn't easy for people to do. It's scary as heck to share these parts of ourselves. However, I know that in doing so, we can work towards ending these stigmas towards mental health so that people aren't struggling in silence
I want other pregnant and postpartum women to know they aren't alone. Pre-pandemic, 1 in 7 women experienced perinatal depression and/or anxiety. Since the pandemic, rates have more than doubled. We need to talk about this.

Shelby! We love you! You are not alone. And I will be sending prayers out for you and your baby. Recently my supervisor’s niece was born really sick and the chances of survival were very slim and this baby managed through 3 surgeries in a week and one was to put organs back into body cavity. She is now thriving and will be released soon. Im telling you this because when your baby has a purpose nothing can interfere and God will protect its life. We prayed and prayed and soon baby will not only be released but grow up like every other child ❤️💙

Girl.... I felt the same way when I was pregnant with Nellie. I felt awful the whole entire time and I felt guilty for feeling awful because I was pregnant and some people dont get that gift. You are NOT alone, you have an amazing community of people around you and people who love you. Try and stay strong, keep your chin up, you're going to be an amazing mama to this little baby. 💕
I can relate to so much of what you said! I didn’t buy more then what I absolutely needed for my heart baby, because the doctors were convinced she would not make it home, she is ten and a half now!! It’s a tough road, but there will be so many blessings along the way too!
I’m so goad that your baby doesn’t have one of the more severe cases, my daughter has hypoplastic left heart syndrome which is one of the most fatal, and I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone, but even saying that, you wouldn’t know just looking at her, and she is proving doctors wrong, every, single, day!
Being so far away from your cardiac hospital is hard, but you’ll make it work, take one day at a time, easier said then done, I know, but truly once you start taking it day by day it becomes easier to bare ❤️
You are strong and brave to express your vulnerabilities to people, that is not something you minimize! It’s great that you are doing this because it’s a great way to heal and see where you are in the midst of all that’s going on.I’m 38 weeks currently and my first son is 9. He has Down syndrome and he had to receive heart surgery at 4 to replace his Mitral valve because his oxygenated and non oxygenated blood began to mix..I was afraid for his life😓😓 I thank God he has not serious complications now 🥲! pray you find peace and your worries lessen. Reading the Holy.Bible and praying to God helps so much. Listen to psalm 91. You can listen the Holy Bible on you tube. You will start feeling calm....knowing that God loves you and He is near you bring peace in your soul. He will take care of you and your baby.
