Xtar...interesting. The company was a Li-ion battery charger manufacturer at the beginning, of which the product had a good reputation among local flashlight players and fans. Seems like it starts to make lights & diving lights now...
I've used several different UV dive lights. The important factor is the wave length. There are generally 2 that manufacturers use, 395nm uv and 450nm blue. You will get some reaction with a 395nm and its easier as you won't need yellow filters but you will mostly get only greens and yellow excitation for the most part. On the other hand a 450nm blue light with a yellow filter will offer a broader range of colors and they will be much more vibrant.

I have found the old footage I took of testing the difference between UV and blue lights. It was only a pool test, but I was also able to try with the pool lights on and off to simulate a night dive. czcams.com/video/1PR1BpKJ5z4/video.html
I have been using Sola Nightsea and ikelite UV filters for DS161 but in the lakes there are not much that is UV sensitive, at least in Finland. Please let me know if you find one :) Anyway I can se that light specially handy for macro work.

Leider konnte ich die Lampe noch nicht genügend testen unterwasser. Ich hoffe dies wird sich aber in den nächsten Wochen ändern. Sobald ich genug Erfahrungen damit gesammelt habe werde ich ein entsprechendes Video dazu veröffentlichen. Danke für deine Geduld. 🙏

Do you know the kelvin of this product? I need this info for White balance on my DJI Osmo action want to set white balance Manuel and make some records. On the other hand want to make some macro records but need correct housing and compatible flip flop macro lens for this... My housing is rounded and there is No option to put a macro ring on it. So need New housing and compatible flip makro... Danke im Voraus für deine Rückmeldung... LG aus İstanbul and Marmara See... PS ıch habe auch ein paar uw videos schau doch mal bitte..
Hattest Du mal Gelegenheit, die grössere Variante, die D36 5800, zu testen? Generelle Kaufempfehlung für XTAR? Vielen Dank & Grüsse aus Zürich
Leider noch nicht. Ich werde diese Woche noch einen Tauchgang mit der XTAR D30 im Vierwaldstättersee machen. Danach kann ich hoffentlich mehr sagen. 😉
What temperature does it output at?
According to the manufacturer at 5500 - 6000 Kelvin.

I've experimented with a number of different blue and UV lights underwater. The fluorescence is far greater with blue light than UV but you need a yellow filter on your camera to stop everything else that isn't fluorescing from being very blue. I have some test video somewhere, I'll see if I can add a link to it later.
