Islam is now the largest and the state religion of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan has over 240 Million devotees of Islam. As much as 90% of the population follows Sunni Islam.

“In a short space of time all the people in the [Delhi] fort were put to the sword, and in the course of one hour the heads of 10,000 infidels were cut off. The sword of Islam was washed in the blood of the infidels, and all the goods and effects, the treasure and the grain which for many a long year had been stored in the fort became the spoil of my soldiers.
“They set fire to the houses and reduced them to ashes, and they razed the buildings and the fort to the ground….All these infidel Hindus were slain, their women and children, and their property and goods became the spoil of the victors. I proclaimed throughout the camp that every man who had infidel prisoners should put them to death, and whoever neglected to do so should himself be executed and his property given to the informer. When this order became known to the ghazis of Islam, they drew their swords and put their prisoners to death.”

Some sources state that islam reached the indian subcontinent before the conquest of sindh, as arab traders travelled to the south Indian region of Kerala which led to conversion and the building of a mosque. The umayyads later conquered sindh and parts of Punjab. Then later islam spread in other parts of northern india through preachers such as Ali Hujwiri who lived during the Ghaznavid empire

Ibn Hajar has written in Tehzeeb o Tehzeeb that Ibn Qasim flogged Atiyah bin Sad because Atiyah refuses to curse Ali R.A. Ibn Qasim flogged him 400 times. There is more evidence towards the point that this man was chasing the Ahlul Bait when he invaded Sindh, not because some woman was being oppressed. Banu Umayya was cruel and oppressive to the Ahlul Bait, and Ibn Qasim was one of them. There's a reason why he was called back and jailed (or killed) by the king who was in power before Umer Ibn Abdul Aziz R.A.

I saw statistics some where about this topic. Turns out most people in Pakistan became Muslims after the fall of the central Mughal authority in the 18th century. This was a surprise as that was when Marathas, Sikhs and Afghans were competing for power.
Raja Dahir was a Hindu usurper who ruled a buddhist sindh by persecution. The arab army was joined by local tribesmen against dahir, who faught bravely but was defeated.
