  • The UNESCO World Heritage site of Le Havre is a port city in northern France that was heavily damaged by bombing raids during World War 2. After the war, and needing their key port city up and running again, the French government turned to a leading architect of the era - Auguste Perret. He rebuilt the ruined city in his own image, mainly with reinforced concrete - but also with a few surprisingly modern touches!
