Now as a man in his 30s, it makes me tear up for all the people (women, men, and non-binary alike) who are abused by the very person who is supposed to love them the most. I’m lucky that my boyfriend isn’t abusive and that I have never been in an abusive relationship, but physical, emotional, and/or psychological abuse can happen to anyone. If someone out there reads this comment and is experiencing abuse from their partner, know that someone out there loves you and that while leaving your abuser can be really difficult, no one deserves abuse and we all deserve love. And abuse is NOT love no matter what your abuser tells you.
As a 45 year old man who put his woman through university to get a career to help us & then for her to leave me & kids (as good as grown) for greener grass (different man) this hits so hard as she was the one playing about why’ll I was the one sobbing at home over her & still am a long time after….
