  • Oregon football went to the PAC-12 championship and won the Fiesta Bowl in the 2023 season. The 2024 Oregon Ducks will look completely different and that starts with the jump to the Big Ten. Oregon has 10 returning starters to kick it off. There is a new QB1 in Eugene with Dillon Gabriel and is one of the best quarterbacks in the Big Ten. Gabriel will have to follow Bo Nix who is one of the best quarterbacks in program history. Jordan James looks to fill the shows of Buck Irving and James had 759 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Oregon looks to have one of the best-receiving cores in college football with Tez Johnson, Traeshon Holden, Gary Bryant, and Terrance Ferguson returning. Evan Stewart transferred from Texas A&M who was one of the best transfers in college football. Josh Conerly and Ajani Cornelius return to form the best tackle duo in college football. Oregon has a veteran defensive back group but transfers throughout the room. Jabbar Muhammad, Kam Alexander, Kobe Savage, Brandon Johnson, and Cruz Rushing transferred to this room. Can This Defensive Line Play In The Big Ten? Jordan Burch and Matayo Uiagalelei return at the edge. Derrick Harmon and Jamaree Caldwell transfer in the middle. Both coordinators Will Stein and Tosh Lupoi return. Dan Lanning returns and is immediately one of the best coaches in the Big Ten.

    In every efficiency chart Oregon is a more balanced team when compared to OSU… Oregon had a top 10 scoring offense and scoring defense. Only other team in the top ten for both offense and defense was Georgia. Ohio state had the 49th best offense. People don’t realize how good Oregon is going to be next year

      DG is a real good qb but I don't think he'll be as good as Bo. Bo has a few inches on him and holds the highest completion rating in CFB history, but he's a great replacement. Was actually hoping to see how Ty progressed

    Oregon is as bad as Texas A&M with the hype. Fast forward; They'll drill crappy teams and lose 2 of Ohio State, Michigan, Washington. Maybe a slip up against a Wisconsin type. They might get into the playoffs, then lose. Dan Lanning has literally never won a big game. Ever. Until he does, let's stop acting like this is a championship program or that he's some elite coach.

    • @TheStiffArmCFB
      @TheStiffArmCFB  Před měsícem +1

      Dan Lanning is one of the best coaches in the Big Ten and “never won the big game.” Oregon has the roster to compete and they always come up just short. The Ohio State game is at home which is a huge advantage.

      @jarrodmoore9 Před 29 dny

      @@TheStiffArmCFB Why is he one of the best coaches in the b10? What has he actually done on the field to claim that? Being able to recruit, in the NIL era, to a place with endless funds isn't impressive. That's the only thing he has done. He hasn't won anything. That's a fact.

      @jarrodmoore9 Před 29 dny +1

      @@TheStiffArmCFB So you have no other argument other than "there are mid coaches" in the b10? There are plenty of coaches in the b10 that have won actual big game and conference titles...with much less talent than Lanning inherited and/or bought. For example, "mid" Bret Bielima started his career just as successfully as Lanning and won 3 titles at Wisky. Lanning has done nothing but recruit, which is easy at Oregon, especially now. He has gagged in every big game he's been in. Does that mean he CAN'T be an elite coach? No. But he has done nothing to place him in the conversation as a top tier coach in any league.
