Yooooo, thought you said on Twitch a while ago that you were done with this game and you uninstalled it and was never coming back lol 🤣 Anyway, happy to see your content again, keep up the good work :)
I was but i'm slowly getting back into it. I'm still not massively into the game but consider it as one of the 'pass the time' gap fillers when theres nothing else to do.
I really liked how well made this video is. You should make more update videos like this and rumors and maybe update ideas.
Thank you for the kind words ☺I have been thinking in making more video's such as that as i do have some idea's about things that would benifit the game as well as how i think how things such as the live stock car could work as I've been thinking there might be more then just one new type of freight car on the way.
There will _need_ to be a facility to fill the tenders/bunkers of coal burners, a way to convert cars to knuckle couplers, which I hope brings a way to (re)letter rolling stock. I don't think any of these new locos will woo me away from the lone Heisler I use for EVERYTHING already...
...which means I want to see the Class C and D Shays, the 3-truck version of the Heisler, and possibly the Willamette (which will need to be released at the same time or after everything else for oil-burning locos)
The D Class shay's won't be coming for quite some time as the game is being treated with a 'time line' so any and all locos and rolling stock we get from update to update will depend on when they was built.
Well i believe and speculate that with the introduction of locomotives such as the Class 125 and Uintah Mallet we will be getting new facilities such as a coaling tower and maybe, just maybe, even a new spline where we can lay a form of inspection pit where we can RP clearing out the ashpan as well as somewhere to dump the ash.
I really hope we get the tendered Sumpter Valley rebuild of the Unita 2-6-6-2.
maybe later on down the line in the games development when the 'time period' would be more 'correct' for those versions to come in, we'll just have to play the waiting game.
I think the last new engine could be a ten wheeler. There aren't any passenger cars for it to pull yet, but I still want to see a 4-6-0
I'd love for a 4-6-0 to come into the game, way back in the day of the games infantcy we was going to have the D&RG 45.5 class as our first new locomotive to the game with was a 4-6-0, but crap hit the fan in the discord and it got cancelled and the likelyhood of someone making a new model of the locomotive by anyone that's currently part of the RRO team now is very low 😢
This is a great video. I’ve been really getting into this game since X-mas, trying to figure out future road maps. Which has been really difficult. I wasn’t apart of the discord, but only been able to gain an idea of what happened based on some bits & pieces. Glad to know it’s not becoming abandonware
Havent watched you since thunderails! Glad to watch you again!
When they start adding locomotives, I hope they add an option for what coupler type you want.
I'd also love to hopefully see some British 3ft gauge locomotives like the Torrington and Marland Railway fleet
I currently don't play the game but have been watching videos and catching up on it to see if no would want to play it at all. It's certainly a daunting task but man does it look fun and the fact that the Uintah 2-6-6-2 is on the way is exciting. Live stock trains would also be a nice touch but they need to make passenger trains a reality as well. I know it's a process and this game has had it's set backs but hopefully it continues to move forward and give new opportunities for players in the future.
Loved your update video as well I saw another one but this one had I think a bit more in it and I appreciate that very much. I'm sure you'll do another update video in the weeks and months to come. Thanks again.
There also might be grain along with livestock, we will probably use ore or box cars to transport the grain
Maybe a flour mill too. Ore car (hopper) for the raw wheat to the mill, box car for the packaged flour?
Quick note. The mogul version of the Eureka is the glenbrook. The real life glenbrook and it’s sister the taho are both the same frame and boiler as the eureka. However they have an extra driving wheel instead of the extra wheels on the front pilot. Other than that awesome video! 👍
Oh really? That's cool. See this is why i asked you guys to comment below as i didn't know that. I saw a video of Eureka and Glenbrook double heading on the C&TSRR and saw their lining on their liveries was similar but didn't know Glenbrook was a fellow E&P loco 😄
Personally not sure about Buckeye couplers in their entirety, maybe something slightly akin to Janney couplers, as there has been no form of Rolling stock with Knuckles that could be added to the game that has been teased or shown in any capacity. Coal firing has got me on the edge as well, as yes those locomotives are coal fired, however, I believe the C70 was coal fired when it worked under the Grande and that hasn’t been shown of changing yet, *However* now I’m not so sure now. It wouldn’t have happened 2 months ago when the Mallet and Mudhen were shown, and many of the old Volunteer CM’s and Dev’s such as Nix, K1OwN, and several others believed the current main dev wouldn’t have been capable to do coal firing within that time frame, but with the now expanse of a time frame, and current and possible changes going on behind the scene that very very few have access to, there may be possibilities of this changing.
The final image, I was hoping it was showing a tighter switch that would allow the tracks to be closer.
Unfortunatly not, those are the same old pre made switch assets we've had since the games release, just the FOV and zoomed in shot gives it that illusion.
if the knuckle "buckeye" couplers recreated on the models are the split-knuckle type, they can coouple directly to the L&P cars, which is what was done in the real world
Could very well be it would make compatibility a little easier until something like a workshop is added where we can change attachments after purchase, we'll just have to wait and see 🙂
@@GWR6029 Oh in the "real world" many US NG lines never worried about converting ANYTHING .....the WW&F 2' gage in maine ran with many freight cars still L&P up till the end in 1933, several eastern US 3' lines did the same like the Lancaster Oxford and Southern in PA.
I believe that the locomotive on the right at 7:07 is a porter 0-6-0.
I prefer the smaller American Tender Engines, like the 0-6-0, which is the wheel arrangement for British tank engines. I also love the American 4-4-0s, which you would normally see in a theme park. Ask me what theme park I love most, and my answer is this: Disney World in Florida. But whatever you come up with, I'll follow you all the way.
Although it would be interesting to see a 2nd Baldwin Mogul, I think the teased loco around the 2:40 mark is actually a 2-10-0. Way back when Hyce was the Community Manager on the old Discord days, he did a video on the locomotive tech tree.
The 2-10-0 is essentially a bigger version of the Class 70 with an extra driving axle. One of the reasons I think this loco is the 3ft gauhe Decapod is the location of the air pump. When you look at the silhouette, it looks like it's mounted pretty far forward, perhaps even on the smokebox. Which is how the 2-10-0's is mounted. It also has a large "Sunflower" style stack, which seems hinted in the tease as well.
I had a look at a 2-10-0 image going by your description of it and whilst the air pump is on the side of the smokebox door there's something the outline of the game loco shows that the 2-10-0 doesn't. If you look carefully behind the smokestack of the teased outline engine you can see the sand dome, then the bell and the steam dome after that whilst the 2-10-0 shows the sand dome, steam dome, then the bell closest to the cab. Another factor is this might be a modified version of a loco with features it might not have had when new. We'll just have to wait and see what all these loco's turn out to be 😉
2:11 epic 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
I would love a Puffing Billy release!!!
I thought that the last tease photo might be two things a photo mode and shorter switch pieces. Thats what I think anyway. Have a glorious day.
If there was a British version of railroads online (railways online, navvies online?) I would preferably set it in the Welsh countryside with narrow guage track, have the ability to transport coal and slate, and the tools to blast through tunnels. What do you think?
That would be cool and a LOT of people i know and those that popped into my chat whenever I've live streamed on my Twitch channel have said that once mod support/ steam workshop actually becomes a thing they too would to the typical Welsh Narrow Gauge set up and operations. I personally would LOVE IT if i could drive around on 15 inch gauge track and go around in the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway i would be in pure heaven especially if the models where done well and they had their correct sounds like their chuffing and whistles unique to each engine.
When the discord was still open, I always joked that the Isle of man beyer peacocks technically met all the criteria to be in the game, Being
-technically not English
-exported to the US (only one but it counts)
-the correct gauge
-correct coupling type
And
-Period correct.
Tin and copper mines also there are tar deposits in Wales as you can down a really long tunnel where was mined. also Lyn off the Lynton and Barnstaple railway is 2-4-2 Baldwin what be a great addition to game as Anglo American locomotive.
We still need a way to upgrade and edit existing rolling stock and locomotives
once you get most of the content done maybe add one or two maps. or give the community the tools to make maps. to spice it up a little bit.
tools such as map making and mods in general like steam workshop support will not be available until the game come out of early acces and becomes a 'full game' I.E. the game build needs to reach V1.0 before any of that even comes.
I feel like we get a western desert-ish map.
I can't wait to see a map expansion
I'm sure neither can the rest of us, but we'll just have to wait.....and wait......and wait and see if what i speculated comes to light at all as the current map really doesn't have enough room for a suitable location for any new industries to be placed so a map expansion would make the most logical sense whilst also providing a new area for players to build, drive, and explore on.
@@GWR6029 there was an empty piece of land behind a mountain that will be used for an expansion
@@Elliottblancher which is what i showed and talked about in this video about how that part of the land which was going to be a map expansion but then got abandoned, might be brought back to life and could be used for future content such as more industries to live etc.
@@GWR6029 I don't think it was abandoned, it just was waiting for a purpose which it might have soon
@@GWR6029 if I were to guess since there is a stock car, there would be either one farm with a bunch of livestock or multiple with one livestock at each, some place that you get hay from to feed the livestock, a creamery, and a meat packing plant. I feel like this would be part of some big update which probably will be the biggest one yet.
I hope they eventually make the engine sheds able to click to track to be able to put them down in relation to track, instead of running track to meet the shed
I do too, the ability to snap the sheds to the track would make things more easier and would put the sheds at the same height as the track you've built, rather then juggling with the ballast to get it at roughly the same height and then bringing the track up to meet it.
@@GWR6029 back to the locomotives also. I am a Minnesotan, through and through. We have a special locomotive here, up at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. It is called the William Crooks. It is a historic locomotive, that literally helped build the northern american rail network. I would also like to see a tendered porter, but you can easily make one in game simply by putting the tender of the montezuma behind a porter
Wasn’t there that one 4-8-2 with eureka drivers that was once in the tech tree?
The models being shown with knuckle couplers doesn't mean they are adding knuckles just yet nor does these engines burning coal mean coal firing is happening, he will likely implement them with pins and wood firing. As far as a livestock industry I think its likely that will be placeable like firewood depots, at least that would be the intelligent way to do it moving forward.
and here i am, still waiting for sandbox and workshop support
Neither one of those will come out until the game comes out of early access and becomes version 1.0 (fully finished released game) which won't be for some years so unfortunatly that wait is going to be a long one.
Honest opinion, but I would be peeved if they added the Baldwon Mogul and not a Mason Bogey. Not that another engine wouldn't be welcome at all, but a Mason is far more interesting to me.
True, but we're not in control what the devs and team behind the scenes want to do and bring in.
The photo is not a C-25. It has some differences like the counter weights, front pilot truck, and dome arrangement.
Someone else earlier in one of the comments already notified me on what that engine actually is, like i said I'm only guessing using just the silhouettes of these images as a reference as there's no trace of any versions of the original loco tech tree's available.
One old members said they have plans for much larger locomotives then the 2-6-6-2.
Back then that could have been the case, but with the discord server shut down and all versions of the original 6 versions of the loco tech tree lost to time we don't know whats coming anymore in terms of motive power.
@GWR6029 well a K37 might be expected at some point in future as a end game locomotive.
@@vinter5256 Could very well be but all we can do is wait and only time will tell what's in store for the players
i do not think we are E&P Redville as we already have it as the baldwin 2-6-0 in the game is the same class as redville its most likely just the as built and modernized version of the 8-18c
I didn't realise it's pronounced mallay i've been calling them mallets like the hammer 🤦
Have a little Google of Jules Theodore Anatole Mallet, the Swiss Engineer that brought us the articulated compound engines in the first place, it's an interesting read :)
We need custom whistles lol
9:30 is it just me or do the switches in the picture look way shorter and more angled than the ones that we have now? i mean it could just be the flat perspective but it really looks like that the two switches are way closer together than it should be possible at the moment
I don't think these are shorter switch pieces, it's just the illusion of the modified FOV and zoomed in nature of the picture that makes it look like different pieces.
@@Elliottblancherunfortunately not if you look closely at the tip of the engine you can see the other switch that goes down the other track
@@BravestTable464 Maybe its not switches, Look at the locomotive, maybe it it what they actually teased
So far we have been teased the Unitah 2-6-6-2t, stock car, and what looks like two 2-8-0 Locomotives.
I'm gonna make my friends in that Cattle car because my friends act like animals
I'm somewhat new to the game but if there was one thing I wanted updated it would be shorter switches for more efficient shunt yards
When the original new track spline update was being made we could have made our own switches and cross overs how ever we wanted as they was working on making those procedural, however due to 'things' that happened in the old Discord all this got binned and we ended up with the face and the laying of what was going to be the mk2 splines kit bashed with the same old physics of the track and stock from the mk1 system as there was a stupid amount of moaners in the discord and on steam posts saying the new spline system (which would have been very much like the Trainz franchise system as to how locos and stock would move along with the ping for clients being much lower) was very boring and crap all because they couldn't derail even though it was still under contruction and coding. So Keume gave up and binned the whole project because of these cry babies and just stuck with the old system as it was the easier, lazy way in pushing 'content' out.
That may not be a new eureka model
Do you know how many 4-4-0s there were in the tech tree?
ALSO WE NEED TO GET THE UINTAH 20 AND SAUCELITO OR I WIL SHOOT SOMEBODY
Realistically I would like to see a 4-6-2 locomotive preferably to have a smoke defender option and a 'british' form (Flying Scotsman)
I don't think any pacific wheel arrangement ever existed for a 3ft American Railroad like this, there where a couple of 4-6-0's and a 2-6-2 type I've found but no 4-6-2's of this gauge in America especially on a logging type of railroad.
@@GWR6029 I was thinking if they added more gauges, but I should have been more clear with that
4:12 that's actually an East Tennessee & Western North Carolina 2-8-0 consolidation.
Just did a Google of that and nice spot it does match the profile a little more better, I thought it was a C-25 as the game has a VERY heavy D&RGW theme and over 90% of the content is of that one specific Railroad Company as pretty much all of the modelling devs at the time when the game first game out where all D&RGW 'fans' and they would only model that railroad companies stock.
I remember that one of the modelers posted an untextured model of the ET&WNC Connie a month on the discord a month or so before the discords Kenosha incident that shut the whole thing down.
😉
One thing you missed, was the particle effect on the plow... which hints at... ah, never mind. I've already said too much.
I did see the particle effects on the snowplow we have in the game with the festive seasonal 222120 build update but they are purely for cosmetic display unfortunatly it doesn't actually clear any snow mounds on the tracks or anything. It's just for show like the cylinder drain cock effects, they don't do anything they're just there is you want to 'RP' and pretend there's simulation on the trains.
A longer time ago before the bullshit happend, one of the members said that there will be a mapwith way less dense vegetation and hills but i dont know what happend to that
Personally looking forward to Railroader getting released, but new RO content is good too.
same here, Railroader Short Line operations is looking so good and can't wait for it's released teased to be in early 2023 (which i quess is sometime between Janurary and April as if you go by Early, Middle, and Late of a year, 12 months devided by 3 'seasons' is 4 months, that's my thinking of it anyway lol) but new RRO content would be cool also. We just have to play the waiting game to see what becomes of these outlines. 🚂😊
F in the chat for the mason bogie
It's still coming as like i mentioned in the video a morse code message from the telegraph office was decoded saying it was requesting an order for a Mason Bogie, we just haven't seen a teaser shape of one....not yet at least.
I just wanna see passenger cars
I want cprr 4-8-0 locomotive 😭
they should add a baldwin locomotive works na class
Australian locomotives will NOT be considered. The main problem with that locomotive, is it's a 30 inch gauge locomotive, not 36 inch gauge, not to mention a host of other issues with it.
Idk about getting any coal burners yet. Montezuma was also a coal burner in her day, but I think they're sticking with wood for now just for a cohesive gameplay experience.
Could be, but in one of the last Dev Vlog video's one of the former discord RRO community managers did (ItsNix) when he was showing off the Glenbrook the tender had a coal mound pile featured but had very odd flat texture wrap of firewood all over it. So coal burners may be a thing to come in the future but the team might have needed a little time to figure out how to work it on the models in terms of how quick they'd burn through it, adding new assets with it like coaling tower(s) etc. All we can do is wait and see what they've done.
I need to make a correction there is something bigger planned then the uintha. Joyce the former head of publicity manager made a vid about the v6 of the loco tech tree but he deleted the vid sadly, but if you would ask him you may be able to get the info from him
never head of someone called Joyce that used to be in the old server, not that i saw anyway.
So if a stock car is coming to the game, would not mean a reefer car would be coming as well?
I don't believe the late 1800's to early 1900's had many options for refrigerated cars, considering they hadn't invented a modern refrigerator yet.
@@Oatmealism was thinking an ice reefer may not be too far out of the question, but that being said I'm more of a diesel-era guy
I am out of the loop. What was the reason the server was shut down?
Drama and the staff being unable to run the server. Also most of the admins were banned from a person who joined and tried to take over rro.
One Railroads Online 'team' member threw another one under the bus for no reason other then they threw money at the game and thought they owned it and tried to change the game to a Bazilian Train game instead I.E. change the game to make it HIS taste, everyone crapped on this one person for his actions and got him in trouble as he deserved, all members walked out as they got fed up of the utter disgust of Keume's attitude towards them and having 0 care about the game when he started making enough money from it to leave his full time job and would badly drag his feet into doing anything, so the discord got shut down because of 1: Drama, 2: refusing to accept criticism, and 3: Failing to accept responsabilities.
@@GWR6029 Hot damn that's ridiculous how does this happen to such a niche game 😆 Hope it doesn't affect the development long term, it has a lot of potential would be a shame if it didn't pan out
@@roseroserose588 Those events happened coming up to almost 8-9 months ago, things have changed since then but the game is still SLOWLY progressing.
IMO neither #51 or the 125s will fit on most yards due to how wide they are
That is true considering most players including myself build their tracks rather close to platform bay edges, when i saw the first images in build 221120 i rebuilt parts of my 2 railroad maps to hopefully accomodate these wider engines.
@@GWR6029 aand now someone's realising we might be getting C-16s instead of Class 125s (why the hell? We already have C70s, essentially pre-conversion C-19)
I doubt the Mogul Mallet will be the most powerful, being that there are Mikados with more tractive then the Mogul mallet,
The coal burners probably won’t be coal burners, as the coal burners already added, such as Montezuma (which never burned wood in reality), are depicted as wood-burning in the game.
The Class 125 isn’t the first of the coal burners most of what’s already in the game is supposed to be coal burners only 2-3 ingame engines we’re wood burners and even then they were converted to coal if they lasted long enough RRO devs simply didn’t choose to add coal burning so they made them wood burners instead
Whilst this is indeed true, from a game aspect though locomotives such as the Class 125 and the 2-6-6-2T will be the first in the games history where they would be coal burners from the start upon purchase, rather then the current existing loco's that we've been recieving where they're wood burners from the start and then in the furture of the games development would later having to be converted....if that makes sense. Also whenever we do get new loco's they've always been modeled in their earliest forms/ renditions.
@@GWR6029 indeed but I wouldn’t get hopes up on them actually being coal burners at this point in the games development it’s a mixed bag on development
@@ComerProductions193 True.....but a fellow Twitch Streamer friend of mine was very lucky in having one of the current contracted devs (Kitsune) pop into his chat, which I've yet to have the honour in experiencing myself, and he turned round and said to my streaming mate and i quote "You won't be disappointed" indicates to me that maybe something big is coming. He couldn't say anymore because of NDA but it peaked my interest by the modellers words.
Tried to play but was cheated out of the purchase price without receiving the game.
Locos: Historically those would be the K26 and K27's.
Note to developers: You already have Mason bogies in your games.
The purchase thing is a steam issue.
There was no K-26. The class 125 was rebuilt from vauclain, to slide valve, and then rebuilt again later with cylinder valves and external valve gear. That's when they became k-27. K is mikado, 27 is 27k lbs of tractive effort.
At the time this video was released, the coal and power update had not been released, so there was no mason bogie.
This is super nit-picky buuuut at around 4:39 that's a crossing whistle signal (- - . -)
Also at 8:24 the missing Eureka mogul model was added but under a different name, the Glenbrook.
I know, i just thought playing with the whistle as it went over my biggest bridge on my map with the 'echo' of the valley was kinda cool. plus i was feeling really tired as this was the first scripted out video i had made for several years and it took so much energy out of me as I'm not as young as i used to be lol
@@dillonlange9118 Was it really? Fair enough if that was the case. Like i said I'm only guessing and speculating what these silhouettes might be.
@GWR6029 It's all good! I was just being nit-picky. But yeah. The Glenbrook and the Tahoe are the mogul version of the Eureka from Baldwin? (Whoever made the Eureka.) But the silhouettes still look like new engines and it seems like you might have guessed one wrong so I'm excited to see what it is. The others seemed on point tho. Great video!
One thing I hope they do is make the Sumter Valley version of the U winter Railway 2662 articulated engine win the winter Railway shut down they sold those locomotive to the Sumpter Valley Railway in California it was a logging Railroad and they took the water tanks off and put tenders on on those articulated to have an extended range
They also converted them to oil burners too whilst they lived the rest of their days at Sumpter Valley if memory serves me well. Going by the games 'theme' as in any and all new locomotives that are introduced , appear in their earliest form, so with the Uintah Railraods articulated 2-6-6-2 tank engine they would be in their first build form.
@@GWR6029 I believe you're right they were converted to oil burners but I think they were also sold after Sumter Valley to somewhere in South America
The engine I'm looking forward to the most is that massive Uintah Railway 2-6-6-2. I used potter about with that engine in Trainz - Murchison 2 around nine years ago, and in that game she's dressed up as the fictional Murchsion Logging No. 50
Another locomotive I'd like to see in the game is a more modern Shay, since I've never really liked the primitive look of the Class A variant we currently have.
The Uintah RailRoads 2-6-6-2T is certainly going to be an absolute power house of a locomotive and I just hope it's distinctive green livery with silver/ white smokebox is included once the model is complete.
The locomotives we're getting in the game seem to still be introduced and appear in the year they was built, so depending on what version of the shay you would like to come in was built may depend how far down it'll be before it appears in game as the game is being treated with a 'time line'
@@GWR6029since they added the Climax and Heicler which were from around the same time as the late Shay Models, I'm pretty sure it will be added
