  • The Automotive Wind Tunnel group at Loughborough University combines expertise in experimental testing and computation fluid dynamics (CFD) and provides both industry standard and advanced techniques such as force balance measurements and tomographic PIV.
Projects range from automotive and sports research, validation of numerical methods and surface contamination on self-driving cars. The wind tunnel group has also been used by sports equipment manufacturers and teams such as Rapha in cycling and Adidas for the development of world cup footballs.
The Automotive Wind Tunnel has built a reputation as one of the worlds leading research facilities over the past 20 years resulting in a strong recruitment into the Formula One teams.
