Looking through some old dvd's, I found this interview from November 2014 where Bret Hart came to the King Power stadium in Leicester to discuss his career.
I gotta give this interviewer a ton of credit. Never interrupts Bret as he goes into one monologue after another when telling these stories. Pure class.
I've searched CZcams endlessly for any and all Bret Hart interviews and I've watched pretty much all of them.....I can't get enough. The guy was my hero as a child with not having a good relationship with my father. I learned to be honorable, honest, responsible and respectful BECAUSE Bret. It's crazy how as I got older I realized how much effect this man had on me becoming a man. Hes so much more of the character than I could've ever imagined.
I was there! I remember Bret went over his scheduled time that evening but still stayed to sign autographs for everybody. I got him and his son Blake to sign my book for me. There was an auction among the crowd for a spot to sit next to him during the dinner. I think the winner paid something like £500. There was also a wrestling bout held in the room prior to Bret's interview as well. I became friends with one of them that night and we still talk today, nearly 10 years later.
"The Greatest there was, The Greatest there is & The Greatest there EVER will be". The Hitman Lives... thank God for that, we've lost far too many of late.🙏🏻❤🌏
Agreed 💯.. just think of the talent there then.. WWF champion Randy Savage, Ric Flair, The Ultimate Warrior, IC champion Bret Hart, HBK, Davey Boy Smith, The Undertaker, The Road Warriors.. Money Inc.and Razor Ramon ect.
Bret Hart might get some details mixed up occasionally but at the end of the day you can count on Bret Hart telling the truth in his interviews. I’ve heard Bret tells some of these stories before and the narrative never changes
To all the people that call Bret Hart arrogant. I’ve met mechanics, car salesman, mowers, accountants etc. that thought that they were the light of the world. At least Bret was a genius wrestler that entertained millions and is still remembered as a legend today and is a multimillionaire that can back it up
I've met him twice now and he is super humble. He has strong opinions about other wrestlers and the state of the business, which he has earned the right to have, and because of that people do give him those daft labels like being arrogant. The fact is that the man has lived wrestling his whole life, and he has been around the very best and the very worst throughout his career. You are totally right in saying he is a legend, and his opinion will always mean a lot more to me than some other stars of the past/present.
Bret was and is one of the best in ring performers of all time. Even if people bitch, he didn't draw, which isn't entirely correct, he had some of the greatest matches of all time. Made people who couldn't work look great
Best wrester ever, nothing dirty, no cheating, pure wresting. The best wresting match I ever saw was SummerSlam 92 vBritish Bulldog, what a match, again pure wrestling, no outside interferences...just a pure joy it was!!
I'm a big Darts and wrestling fan, and seeing John Gwynne (phenomenal darts and football (soccer) commentator) interviewing Bret Hart is incredible 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
In the Wrestling with shadows doc, you can see what kind of genuine person Owen was, because in all the aftermath and the testosterone and wrestling crap, Owen remains silent and just goes straight to Bret's wife, puts his arm around her out of great concern and kind of walks her away. Everyone else was too wrapped up in the Bret/Vince thing. Owen was the one mature person putting himself in the shoes of what the family might be experiencing, probably wondering what HE'D have wanted if it had happened to him, that someone would come to comfort his wife in all that chaos and confusion. That always stood out to me above everything else in the aftermath of the Survivor Series.
I attended another evening with Bret in 2012 in London and he mentioned how Owen was the one trying to ease tensions whilst both Jim Neidhart and Davey Boy were excited at the prospect of a full scale brawl happening. It definitely does seem like Owen was the more grounded in that particular moment.
I was at the tour a few days later. Just as good as this. Wish they still did these tours. Covid seems to have stopped them. Saw Honky, Ryback, Dibiase, Duggan, Angle, Nash, Shamrock. All great.
MDA sent me tickets to all of them, but I only attended Hart, Angle, Flair, Bischoff and some boxing and football ones. The wrestling ones all got a write up (from me) on Wrestling Inc, but no idea if they are still available as all were years ago now.
I was never a Bret Hart fan as a kid (I was 11yrs old when he first won the WWF/WWE Championship) but I enjoy his shoot interviews. He might get some dates and stuff mixed up sometimes (says Umm a lot) but you can always rely on Bret Hart to tell the truth
I won't give spoilers. Gone off WWE in the modern era for a few reasons. For a good 10 yrs now. Saying that I remember all the Jerry Lawler stuff years later. So that's a credit to Jerry also. Anyhow...
Yeah I haven't been able to watch in a long time. Give me a Mr Perfect v Bret Hart technical masterclass any day over the modern spot fest style. There isn't much focus on proper storytelling any more. People will take a move and jump right back up to get to the next spot on their list.

You nailed it. Thought the same thing.
👍🏼
I could listen to Bret talk forever. Best in ring talent ever

Was this circa 2014 then?

@@ubernoobage3548Thank you !
You know the greatest thing about his stories is that you know he's telling the truth that's the most beautiful thing

This is one of the best Brett interviews I've ever seen. Fantastic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Agreed!
Interviewer is brilliant one of the best I've seen

I wish more people would watch this Humbling story from a great man
This was great! Thanks for uploading. Love hearing Bret's old stories!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great interview. Let Brett talk. We ALL listened, quietly.
100%. I've been to a few of these meet and greets and this was one of the best because Bret was free to delve into his own stories.
Love this interview, so much stuff I'd never heard before. Bret is the absolute BEST.
Glad you enjoyed it, and I agree! Wrestling lost a lot when he had to retire, and it never got it back imho.
Best wrester ever, nothing dirty, no cheating, pure wresting. The best wresting match I ever saw was SummerSlam 92 vBritish Bulldog, what a match, again pure wrestling, no outside interferences...just a pure joy it was!!
I agree entirely. He made me fall in love with pro wrestling. When he retired, my interest slowly did too.
Intelligence too
Could listen to this man all day. One of one!
I'm a big Darts and wrestling fan, and seeing John Gwynne (phenomenal darts and football (soccer) commentator) interviewing Bret Hart is incredible 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Brett can TALK!! ❤❤❤👏👏👏👏

I will always be a bret fan. So great in the ring
Oh man, I went to this. He took a pic with me and then signed it so I could pick it up after the event. So good. Great memories.
top 3 of all time
Legend

The greatest wrestler of all time without a doubt
I was there that evening, I get a high 5 in the first 30 seconds of the video. Thanks for the upload. Brought back memories of a great night!
Glad you enjoyed it, it certainly was a great evening.
Thanks for posting mate.
No worries!

Hitman always improved wrestling , when he wrestled...that's what makes him the best.
Bret is the Original Goat God. 🩷🖤

👍
Bret was the goat
Shawn & Hunter fear Bret.
They're TERRIFIED.
Audio was perfect, however unfortunately from 56 minutes and 45 seconds it was like someone unplugged something 😕. The sound got worse...
Yeah unfortunately that was a technical issue in recording.
I cant put into words how much this man means to me🩷! Long live the Hit man!!
15:40 lol
Leicester Massachusetts? 😂
Leicester, England (UK)
This is a great interview.
