I liked that they went in an unpredictable route with this one. They didn't drag it out, they just abruptly get to the climax and let the rest flow after it.
"they just abruptly get to the climax and let the rest flow after it."
PHRASING!
Haha couldn't help myself once it came to me.. Sketch appropriate :)
I could spot the punchline from a mile away, but the flow was pretty unique.
As a gay man, this scene was completely predictable to me.
@@manuelmateo3392 i mean you heard the audience right? the point is that you can tell as soon as the dad sees the porn star for the first time
Aidy Bryant is so good at playing characters with marital problems lol
Andy?? Lmao
@@seanster625 it's Aidy
@@adamramirez3866 he typed Andy the first time. He just edited it
@@seanster625 oh lol
Is that G D Dwayne!?
I feel like the audience missed the "they have the same taste in everything" joke.
I missed that too, that really really was over there heads
Omg lol I have watched this skit several times and I Just got that joke lol smh 🤦🏽♀️😂 “I feel so stupid” to quote the father in this skit lol
@@jamesdeanlove the 2million people who watch this skite have terrible gaydar
I got it immediately
I'm still so confused
"It's so hard sometimes."
*Sam jumps up*
"God! Where do I know you from?"
I died.
Right ! Favorite part 😂😂
I was rolling 😂😂
“Yeah, I know. It’s a joke. My marriage just fell apart, can ya let me have one thing??” Aidy always kills me with her quips 😂
Elijah-James mac She basically just said, “Can a bitch catch a break, damn?!”
Aidy has mastered the art of acting like she's just barely hanging on.
I’m sure based on gay SNL skits with women married to closeted men, Aidy’s character has to be named DEIRDRE.
😂😂😂 it’s no other way.
Jared what are you doing? Not with my godSON!!!
@@naid5533 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Why is Godson sleeping over?!
Jared... I forgive you.
Oh, lube *awkward laugh*
"I can't believe I wore this shirt to meet Marco Pumpgood like an idiot. I have cuter shirts, just so you know!"
Saw 666 likes. Decided not to ruin it. Consider this a like.
donotoperateoncrackisagainstracist Because Edna won't let them have one
Every thing about this thread is gold
Joseph 133 I didn't know writing the same line from the skit is gold. I have a lot to learn.
Sole Soul they're talking about the whole thread, not really my comment.
"He hasn't been with the Cocky Boys in like 3 years." I'm dying hahahahaha
THIS JUST SENT ME
"Anyhoo, I guess I'm getting a divorce and now I'm probably stepping down as pastor. Goodbye, family!"
Thank you for the unnecessary transphobic comment.
Sanna Sam Rockwell does comedy so well, like Galaxy Quest!
I almost spit my coffee out reading this thread. Thanks for the morning laugh y'all. 😁😁
Miss Mitzi will you let him have one thing?
Sanna 1.5k likes on this from... repeating a line from the video
comedy at its finest
I like how the family in the end, was really not concerned with the boyfriend's color, sex or career. It was the closeted father that had to leave the house.
great point!
There's also the irony of the pastor father outing the gay porn star and in the process outing himself
Oh my god, I just realized.
He was black ? !
😐
I did not get it , can u explain it ?
you are thinking to much about race
How he talks himself into an embarrassed frenzy, not finding a way out of this... and then leaves. Love the writing.
"Pumpgood, is that Irish?"
"No ma'am, it's from porn."
"Yeah I know that it was a joke, my marriage just fell apart, will you let me have one thing?"
3star4life wow you're literate, who knew
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I haven't heard this line before. Thanks for sharing it!
Noel Maldonado still find it funny 😁
I was expecting the dad to be homophobic and racist at first when he stopped the guy. That was unexpected.
They tend to be the ones who are closeted lol.
Yes that was the joke hun lol
WTH the second he stopped the guy it was clear that he recognized him from watching porn. The sketch could have literally ended there
Well it wasn't THAT unexpected. It's the usual trope of, "Well if you're homophobic it must mean you're secretly gay". That trope is way played out.
@@BadWalmartCustomerServiceCom I mean if it stopped being true then maybe people wouldn't point it out
I’ve watched this so many times and still can’t get over how incredible Alex’ background acting is! The way his face changed when Aidy said “Pumpgood… is that Irish?” was too damn good!
"Well, anyhoo, I guess I'm getting a divorce...."
BMWDRE10 "And stepping down as pastor"--that was the hilarious part!
Sam Rockwell is the most underrated actor in the industry.
I mean he’s won an academy award, so I don’t know if he’s necessarily underrated, but he should be in more movies for sure.
He´s not underrated, at all. He´s highly acclaimed.
His performance in the green mile gave me shivers. Astounding!
Was you cold ?
It’s cuz he’s not in a lot of movies.
3:12 If those pants were any higher he'd need a tie and not a belt.
palmieres ..yep.. almost like Ed Grimley 😂
Like Jeff Altman 🤣🤣🤣
It's a Bible Belt.
But Authentic!!! I'd swear this was his actual personality!!
And a real person..
Was he acting?!
Chris Laphai-Smith-Avino: Yea, I live in Texas, it's completely authentic!
"I guess im getting a divorce" Im so done 😂😂😂
This was epic. And I'm pretty sure that only Sam could've done it.
The Pikachu Brothers I had no idea! BTW as really famous guys go I think Downey rocks as an actor. But Rockwell is one of these transcendent rare birds. Looking forward to his works for many more years.
When will he get an Oscar though? Ugh!!!!
@@cleopatrasrevenge wish granted. Lmao
And well deserved
That was great and i especially liked the ending line. "Will you let me have one thing?!"
Austin Acor Aidy is everything in this episode
"I wasnt about to wait a whole week for that scene." 😂
“I have cuter shirts... just so you know...” is also my pick up line.
Sam Rockwell's momentary hesitation when shaking hands is what clinches the skit
Well, that escalated quickly ;)))
Will Ferrel should guest and say that between every skit on that show.
So quickly that I wonder if they flubbed and left out a section. With the sexual wine bottle, I thought they were setting the stage for some more physicality and innuendo, but then boom, right to the climax! ...so to speak.
The dramatic irony between Marcus and Tim knowing what they know, the Dad trying to figure out who Marcus is, and Aidy being clueless is a perfect 👌 combination
My absolute favorite skit
Sam Rockwell's use of body language is amazing, it's really an art form. How he puffs his chest out at certain parts, or when he lifts his pants at the end.
He’s brilliant.
I fucking died when he mentioned Cocky Boys, oh my god! This was amazing!😂
The only thing funnier would have been if he said Helix.
BelAmi*
Sean Cody.
Noah CoC You know Belami doesn't hire any men of color LOL
David Bryant he looks too of age to be from Helix
I've got cuter shirts just so you know. Awesome.
Sam rockwells acting and movements in this are so great. Having a great host really helps an episode
I love how the father cared about losing face with Marco Pumpgood than fear of coming out to his wife XD "I have cuter shirts just so you know"
This was funny and tragic. There was humor in the tragedy.
aka Greek Comedy or Black Comedy
boo yah more of a Puerto Rican comedy imo.
Jeremy Jackson - I'm unfamiliar with Puerto Rican comedy. Any suggestions?
boo yah john leguizamo
Yeah, tragic mostly because they thought their marriage was ruined
I love the twist when the dad just admits everything. At least, I didn’t expect that. But it was both funny and refreshing.
"I guess I'm getting divorced, and probably stepping down as pastor."
*Too Accurate*
How
Is that Accurate
“ I wasn’t about to wait a whole week for that scene...”👍👍
This is definitely one of my favorite SNL sketches.
Aidy is great in every skit she's in. So versatile and a great actress.
no
This is one of those sketches that has a really good, clear conceit with a good twist and a feelgood underlying message. Also, quality performances from all the cast.
My favorite part is how Aidy's character just let her husband go on about the porn without any form of shock.
This is the 'or worse' portion of the marriage vows.
I have a feeling she already knew but was comfortable in her marriage like so many other women who have a gay husband. It has to come out sooner or later.
Hey fellows, come out of the closet and be true to yourself and don’t ruin an innocent woman’s life.
This is an extremely well written skit! The twist had me cracking up
This is such a great slow-burn sketch, just waiting for Sam Rockwell to blow it all open, and when he does he just _NAILS IT._ Such a phenomenal guy for this part.
Cockyboys... Who wrote this😄😄😄. Y'all are putting it out there.
Sahiry Gnobehi Right!!
*LMAO!!!*
I thought that was made up
I cracked up at that part 😂💀
He knew porn history and everything. Yea a divorce would be wise. He was in too deep!
I lost it at 2:55 when he stood up. I don’t know why, but Sam did such a perfect job standing up for comedic effect.
I have not laughed that hard in a long time. When he grabbed his coat and said "Anywho, I guess I'm gettin' a divorce," I just lost it.
"They got the same taste in EVERYthing." Did that seriously fly past everyone's heads?? Come ooon
1:21 “Marcus is a dental hygienist, he cleans teeth” I guess that ain’t wrong 😮
Uh
Really love how Rockwell played this
Sam Rockwell is genius!
Is it just me, or did the father seem as though he was waiting for ANY type of out?🤔
😂😂
100%
The jump up from the chair accompanied by "God where do I know your from?!" made me lose my mind lolol
I love how dark that got, and it was like the comedy was playing as levity... Effing brilliant writing, great acting, well paced, that was fire.
Just when I thought the joke on the scene was played out, they clinched it up perfectly.
“The cocky boys” 💀
I still absolutely cannot believe this, I haven't seen three billboards but if I do this video is literally all I'll be thinking about
I love how casual that was
Love Sam Rockwell, so underrated!
The guy with the high pants is a fabulous(no pun intended) actor. I loved how weird and country he was behaving.
Moremi Aj That's Sam Rockwell. Check out his filmography on www.imdb.com he has made a lot of really great movies! :)
that's Sam rockwell , oscar winning actor
He was in the green mile
Sam Rockwell is one of the best actors in the business.
Sam Rockwell is terrific in every role, he should have been much more famous than he is
Sam Rockwell is the best! He's a good actor, love all the movies he's in!
The fact that they NAMEDROPPED CockyBoys is INSANE.
I love it when a great actor is on SNL. They always steal the scene
"I have cuter shirts just so you know" #priorities 😂
Hehe, that confession is just everything
“I’ve got cuter shirts” 🤣🤣
marcus *comes* to dinner 🤲🏼
I LOVE SAM ROCKWELL SO MUCH. Oh this was perfect for him. I cried laughing.
"...will you let me just have one thing?"
lol
Don't worry-the Dad moved deeper south and now has a new family and a brand new church! Still loves Marco Pumpgood and the Cocky Boys.
Feel like they sat down to quick but Aidy went with it lol
As soon as Sam points his finger, pauses & then says "nevermind"...it was all over! FTW!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
This sketch is super under appreciated, it’s fucking hilarious
This was everything.
Jason Thrust
🤣🤣🤣🤣 its the coat grab to leave for me 😂😂
Am I in a good mood or is SNL getting their shit back together? This new guy is saving lives lol. I hope he stays
This episode was extra on point
He's the best. Funny af on Disjointed too.
Do you mean the dad? He's Sam Rockwell and he was the host so he's not a regular cast member.
I think they were talking about Chris Redd
Daniela Galdino-Jolly hey .. Can I tell you something you are beautiful
This is exactly how I picture my family meeting my boyfriend/pornstar
The speed of this sketch is incredible
This is one of the funniest sketches I’ve seen in a long time. His timing was brilliant. SOOOOO GOOOD
"I have cuter shirts just so you know" 😆😆😆
Its so funny how the dad approaches his realization completely masculine, unabashed, honest and direct while the son struggles and is embarassed for him. It reminds me of Hegels depictions of self-consiousness in which we become consious through others
i must confess i did not see a Hegel reference coming, but here we are
who want to bet this was based on a true story...
The way Chris repeats "very clear" so quietly is hilarious to me
Sam Rockwell crushes this episode! Best episode in a while.
Sam Rockwell is such a great actor even in snl
Sam Rockwell is the best!! 🤣
Solid skit. Sam Rockwell just steam rolled over the punch line.
The cocky boys 😂😂
"I guess I'll be standing down as Pastor". lol. Happens all of the time!
INCREDIBLY underrated
God that was so casual at the end, it was amazing lmao
I thought i was gonna die when he came back for his laptop
I’m never buying a Chevy Traverse.
Was about to put the same comment! Bravo sir
???
LMAO me either
😂 I'm so sick of that damn commercial before every sketch
Jessica Pisetsky I actually just got a Royal Caribbean Cruise ad
Jason thrust and the cocky boyz
"I have cuter shirts" DEAD
Probably the best skit of the week... Numerous on multiple depths ... Wait,..uh never-mind
So accurate
This is hilarious, I once had to introduce my parents to a gay porn star. Thank god my dad had no idea who he was. Many years ago I worked in a high end restaurant that would occasionally book cabaret style entertainment. A few times, the singer Margaret Whiting was kind enough to sing. At the time, she was involved with gay porn star Jack Wrangler. He was her partner, and they eventually married. My parents wanted to see her show, so a reservation was made, and I tagged along with them. Both Miss Whiting and Jack couldn’t have been nicer to me while they were in town. She asked me to help her in her dressing room, making sure all her jewelry was secure, and she was zipped properly. My folks and I had the best seat in the house for the show. Jack saw I was a customer that evening and waved to me. I got up and approached him to say hello. He asked who was with me, when I told him he asked to be introduced. I never, ever thought I’d be in a situation where I would say “Mom, Dad, please meet Jack Wrangler”. He was very kind telling them what a help I’d been to them while they were at the restaurant. It was Ms. Whiting’s break, she saw Jack at our table and came up to say hello. My parents were impressed to actually meet Ms. Whiting. She sat with them making chit chat about New York and Hollywood and signed an autograph for my dad. As they got up since her break was over, Jack leaned in and gave my mother a kiss on her cheek, I thought she would pass out because she knew who he was. It was one of the strangest situations since I came out, that I found my self in. It’s a memory that always makes me laugh.
“Guess I’m getting a divorce” KILLED me
3:18 "I guess I'm getting a divorce" LOL
this is such an underrated skit
Aidy Bryant def became a bad ass cast member! I love her sketches lol
“I have cuter shirts” yelling
Plot twist: the dad is actually bi so the marriage doesn’t fall apart
Double twist, they watch gay porn together
