  • In this video I review a 1993 Godin G-3000 guitar in "Never been played" condition. So they claimed anyway. Godin is a guitar builder that started in the 70's in Canada and has been making guitars ever since.
This G-3000 is a strat style guitar with a HSS pickup combination. Check it out!

I believe Godin also own and manufacture "Art & Lutherie" brand acoustic guitars. I had one of their parlor acoustic guitars with a cedar top, cherry back/sides and maple neck.. It had an interesting sound, good for acoustic bles and slide. Was a good couch guitar.

I believe you are correct about Art & Lutherie. Yeah - I’m always impressed with their stuff. They make great player guitars at great prices. Not good for collecting though because they don’t really go up in value.

Thanks for all the info you added here - it was a big help, as I recently came across a G4000 and had no idea what it is at first. Bought it after all and I'm seriously surprised how good it is!
I also did write to Godin for some info (not too much of it on the web!). Attaching all they sent, maybe someone will find it helpful:
G series models were in production from 1993 to 1997.
They were assembled in the US from parts crafted in Canada.
    Specs :
    limewood body ('93 and '94)
    maple body ('95 to '97)
    maple neck
maple or rosewood fretboard (both were available)
    Godin machine heads
    Godin pickups
    11" fretboard radius
    G1000 : 24 3/4" scale, 2 single-coils+1 humbucker, 5 way switch, standard tremolo bridge
    G2000 : 24 3/4" scale, 2 single-coils+1 humbucker, 5 way switch, tremolo bridge with locking nut
    G3000 : 24 3/4" scale, 2 single-coils+1 humbucker, 5 way switch, fixed bridge
    G4000 : 24 3/4" scale, 2 single-coils+1 humbucker, 5 way switch, Schaller tremolo bridge
G5000 : 25 1/2" scale, 1 single-coil+1 humbucker, 3 way switch, Floyd Rose tremolo bridge with locking nut
    Cheers mate, all the best!

A fellow G series owner! There are dozens of us! I have one with a trem and rosewood board that I have been waiting on doing some work on. I remember loathing the pickups so they may go for something else when I end up restoring it. Great video!

Yeah i like to see reviews on Harley Benton guitars also . I ordered the 450 plus. When it arrived it look like it been on tour. I was disappointed because i paid retail on a B-stock and i was so mad .i sent it back. I also ordered a Epiphone SG muse. It also looked like it been on tour.i got the jambox amplifier guitar stand with accessories all in one big box. The box had a serious hole in it. When i contacted thomanns the rep was nasty as hell asked for photos before he could send the return label. Granted i only had the equipment for less then 23 hours.then when i return it , it took almost a month to get my refund back ! So much for the 30 day return policy . This rep act like i was trying to scam them and put me through hoops . So now i have a bad feeling about thomanns quality control . The music shop in Kiel Germany had the same SG muse but wanted to charge 90 euros more . So now put guitar purchase on hold due to the quality control from Thomann ,Harley Benton , Epiphone and other music shops in Germany. I be curious if you have the same problem with guitar online purchase. I enjoy the content of your channel .

Thank you for the kind words. Sorry to hear about your bad guitar luck. I’ve had a few incidences. If you watch my video, “my dream guitar”, I purchased a Les Paul Custom that had problems from the start!
I’ve also bought a few electronic recording things that didn’t work right. But for guitars I can only recall the Les Paul Custom issue.
      Thanks again!

This is a very good guitar. On mine I shifted bridge and neck. A 59 Duncan neck ,in the bridge, and a Lundgreen in neck, middle stock. Putting a neck in bridge, do that, theres no, difference in volume, they are equal. The middle pick up, nothing wrong with that, noiseless and good power. The Lundgreen in the neck, seals the deal, bringing exeptionally clarity to sound, goes from almost accustic to stone cold Strat tones. And not to mention, how easy it is to play, , and string bending, a walk in the park. Did I mention it"s cheap and the great vintage feeling?.

I haven’t played a Harley Benton yet, but I wouldn’t be opposed. I got a Jet guitar about 6 months ago for less than $200, and it’s actually not that bad!

I've been playing a G1000 I bought second hand on a whim for a decade and still love it. Thinking about a pickup swap finally-did you decide on a swap for yours?

    • @CompanyGrip

I’ve thought about it, but haven’t done it yet! I see it as a big commitment and part of me loves the fact that it’s stock and perfect condition! Time will tell what I do! Thanks for checking it out!

It is basically as good as a Mexican Fender.
