As bad as it is to say I was thinking the same thing. I sure hope not as a previous homeowner to rental properties i would have given anything to have renters like this young man. Instead I ended up getting people who never knew how to clean or take their pets outside 🙄 lol

We ended up getting permission to repaint the apartment. The clerk at the paint store (This was near Los Angeles.) was high on marijuana or SOMETHING when he mixed the paints. All the semigloss colors were flat and all the flat colors were semigloss. I noticed it and was told by my husband that "when the paint dries it will look different". Nope! We did end up getting some free paint from the paint store. The paint store clerk in his stoned state also mixed a beige color my husband insisted on to a color I actually wanted which was 'toasted coconut'. That was a happy accident for me. I highly recommend that even if you think you want flat paint to go get paint with a little gloss in it like eggshell because it will clean more easily and look fresh longer than flat. Semigloss for kid's rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, baseboards and doors is sturdy enough and can be painted over in the future without a massive amount of prep work like high gloss/gloss paint. Never use lacquer paint for walls or any surface that may get scuffed. It looks beautiful at first, dries really quickly but gets damaged easily. I ended up having to repaint half my doors and half my baseboards after four years in a house that was new construction since they were lacquer paint as a result of normal wear and tear and bumps from the rubber coated vacuum cleaner bumper.
I am beyond impressed. I lived in Beijing China for 3 years in the 90's. So glad to see that people in China are now fixing up there living space, Great Job
After renting for over 12 years, I can say that every place we went into we had to clean & partially renovate. I even did the landscaping. As soon as it looked nice-- it went on the market & we lost our home. Happened three times! :(

Amazing woodworking and renovating skills! I didn’t know you could use a gray background as a projection screen until I saw Love Between Fairy and Demon projected onto it! And the way he makes everything by hand instead of buying ready-made items is absolutely genius! The landlord should pay him for all his work. He fixed all the water damage and made the place beautiful! I really hope the roof was fixed beforehand so that no more water damage ruins all his gorgeous work! Many years ago, I rented a run down duples . I talked to the landlord about fixing it up and painting. He charged me "no rent" for about 6 months while I was fixing up the place! It was a great deal for both of us. This is truly amazing what this young man did. How do you acquire all these skills at such a young age??
It seems like people from Asian countries age in reverse... he's probably a 52-year-old man! Mostly joking, but my neighbor is Filipino and in her 60s but doesn't look any older than MAYBE early 40s!

@Eausoglamorous I wasn't educated in the USA, but four of my children were. I hated HE. All it taught us was how to make cakes and biscuits. Not exactly what I was expecting. Budgeting and time management ideas, as well as at least one whole meal, would have been better. Carpentry and pottery lessons were far more fun, but we had only six weeks of classes. After that is was child care and sewing/hand crafts. I'm likely a lot older than you, so the system has changed a lot since my day.
He has a eye for style and great DIY skills..he made that place an absolute gorgeous home. I love how he upcycled and added all the plants. It's a beautiful space 🙂 And that's a lot of property for $100
Remarkable transformation. So many skills and techniques used throughout, coupled with a very creative eye. Love that he didn't need a 1,000 square foot 'shop' and €/£/$20k worth of automated machinery. The process was perfect....taking one space at a time to complete finish. I will never do this in a house I don't own. You are doing free work for the landlord, they can put you out of that house so easily and benefit from all your effort, with zero cost for them.
He has multiple talents: skillful in tools, renovating, refurbish, design build and decorate. That's a lot of room for a hundred dollar apartment. Unless he's not into plumbing, it would be nice to see another segment of his redesigning the bathroom and kitchen.
I have watched a number of these renovation projects, and I am always impressed by the attention to detail. Since he is renting, I wonder if the landlord would give permission for anyone to redecorate as they please. What happens if I like "hoarder chic"? I love the night stand. And the cat!
Yes, the cat is amazing, and above all, she "helps" him nicely :D. We have one too, so I know what I'm talking about. The boy is very talented and has done a great job. However, I would probably not do this dirty work with drilling, dusting and painting in an already finished renovated and furnished space. But that's my opinion.

Many years ago, I rented a run down duples . I talked to the landlord about fixing it up and painting. He charged me "no rent" for about 6 months while I was fixing up the place! It was a great deal for both of us. This is truly amazing what this young man did. How do you acquire all these skills at such a young age??
It seems like people from Asian countries age in reverse... he's probably a 52-year-old man! Mostly joking, but my neighbor is Filipino and in her 60s but doesn't look any older than MAYBE early 40s!
Being Asian myself, I'll say he's around 25 to early 30.
Internet and advice. People are not interested in building skills in the US. They're interesed in hiring someone else at a premium. It's sad really.

@Eausoglamorous I wasn't educated in the USA, but four of my children were. I hated HE. All it taught us was how to make cakes and biscuits. Not exactly what I was expecting. Budgeting and time management ideas, as well as at least one whole meal, would have been better. Carpentry and pottery lessons were far more fun, but we had only six weeks of classes. After that is was child care and sewing/hand crafts. I'm likely a lot older than you, so the system has changed a lot since my day.
This guy is amazing. Hopefully there is a part 2 cause we didn't get to see him do over the kitchen and the bathroom yet.
He has a eye for style and great DIY skills..he made that place an absolute gorgeous home. I love how he upcycled and added all the plants. It's a beautiful space 🙂

Remarkable transformation. So many skills and techniques used throughout, coupled with a very creative eye. Love that he didn't need a 1,000 square foot 'shop' and €/£/$20k worth of automated machinery. The process was perfect....taking one space at a time to complete finish. Fabulous work, I hope this young man enjoys his home for many years to come.
I feel this young man owns this apartment. I don't think anyone would go to this much effort & expense for a rental. (Headings can be so misleading). The work he has done is truly beautiful. I hope he has a long & prosperous life, which I'm sure he will. Really beautiful transformation. You can't beat black & white with fresh plants & flowers. The balcony is gorgeous. Wow, insanely talented doesn't even begin to cover the whole thing!!😲 This young man is amazing, not only he knows how to build and fix a lot of things, but he didn't stop and complain about the apartment, he worked hard and long with what he had and turned the crappy space he managed rented into a beautiful and cozy home! 😎😎 I hope we'll be able to see him renovate the kitchen and bathroom in the future.

How is such a young man so talented in so many ways? He is a true artist and visionary!! The techniques were so well honed and yet adaptive- I would like to know how he learned so many crafts! I hope he gets to enjoy the apartment for a very long time!!

I will never do this in a house I don't own. You are doing free work for the landlord, they can put you out of that house so easily and benefit from all your effort, with zero cost for them.
He has multiple talents: skillful in tools, renovating, refurbish, design build and decorate. That's a lot of room for a hundred dollar apartment. Unless he's not into plumbing, it would be nice to see another segment of his redesigning the bathroom and kitchen.
I have watched a number of these renovation projects, and I am always impressed by the attention to detail. Since he is renting, I wonder if the landlord would give permission for anyone to redecorate as they please. What happens if I like "hoarder chic"? I love the night stand. And the cat!
Yes, the cat is amazing, and above all, she "helps" him nicely :D. We have one too, so I know what I'm talking about. The boy is very talented and has done a great job. However, I would probably not do this dirty work with drilling, dusting and painting in an already finished renovated and furnished space. But that's my opinion.

This is an excellent motivational video. The young man is amazing, creative, talented handyman. He could become an entrepreneur, and refurbish peoples' homes.I wish I could adopt him as my grandson. He would help me refurbish my apartment. The only bad thing is the overpowering plants in the rooms. Less is more. The balcony garden has enough plants and flowers.
