- Our second day of being in the fabulous New York. Today we went on our 9/11 excursion. This was to visit the waterfalls but also to go up to floor 102 of the One World Observatory Tower! So after a quick breakfast, we boarded our coach and made our way down to the 9/11 memorial site. It felt just as somber as yesterday being there. Today we learnt more about the site including the first response fire house. Then it was into the One World Observatory to ride the elevator to the top of the world! How quick the elevator ride was! Definitely worth it for the views…just amazing!
Then it was time for one last walk around the memorial site before heading back to the ship. However, when we were dropped off, rather then get straight back on board, we decided to walk back into the city for one last look. Approx 25 minutes walk through Hells Kitchen and we were back on Times Square. Just as amazing as yesterday! We headed into M&M World to have a look around…Just wow! Who knew how many M&M flavours and merchandise were available. Obviously we had to buy some! Then it was back to the ship as it was time to say goodbye to this city! What an amazing place…we will definitely be back! Hope you all love it too.
What a wonderful two days. Sad but amazing. We haven’t been to the USA but I think I would like a week in New York. Thank you for letting us see it
You should definitely do a week in New York. The biggest downside is it’s so busy however it’s probably one of the best places we have ever been to
We did this cruise in May,and had a fantastic time both ashore and onboard. The staff are brilliant and help make our cruise one of the best we have been on.
We are both in our early 50s and you are so correct in what you are saying Karl, get out there and see the world and live your life,
as you never know what is around the corner.
We are the same, get out there and make memories even though one day you might not remember them.
Keep cruising and one day hopefully we might see you on one!
You are so right about making memories. This was probably the best cruise we have do to date
I’m a native New Yorker. It was wonderful to see my home town. And wonderful that you enjoyed it 😃
Can’t wait to see the rest of these vlogs!!!

Thank you 🙏 we absolutely loved it, definitely going back
Honestly guys, I love your videos. You are both so natural. I especially enjoy this adventure as my husband and I are going on the exact same cruise in September, so this has helped us immensely. We wait with anticipation for your Charleston trip. ❤❤
Thank you Karen, honestly you are going to love it in September. It’s one amazing cruise. Charleston is so pretty, be careful it gets so humid there 👍
Lovingly the films /vlogs , hopefully get to do this cruise in 2weeks if Discovery is back and sailing , looking forward to seeing your next installment ❤
Hi, I’ve just been reading the article about the discovery and hopefully the problem should be sorted next weeks. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞
Hopefully u do injoy
Absolutely Love your videos they are the best xxx we are going in August 1st time on a cruise xxxx
Thank you. Have a fabulous cruise in August let me know how you get on.
Hi guys loved the vlog its a cruise we are thinking of doing next year, and the sail in and out of New York looks fantastic we are on Celebrity in nov for a Far East tour ... and welcome to the fabulous 50s your start getting all those things like back ache etc lol
Hi, I’m not sure Marella are doing this cruise again after this run. The far east cruise in November sounds amazing we are off to Dubrovnik this September so hopefully that should be a nice week.
Hi lads, great vlog in NY, brought back memories for us. Just heard that the Marella Discovery has had an enigine fire and had to return to port, she's out in the Caribbean. Shame as it looks a very nice ship from your vlogs.
Hi Phil, I’ve been reading the article about the fire. I think it’s 1 of the 5 engines not to much damage so hopefully should be sailing in a weeks time 🤞
There is a new tui ship coming 2024 it in dry dock at moment seen pictures of the poolside its so different to what they have now
Exciting I’ll have a look. Thanks for letting me know 👍
No problem
Hi, my second message- just wondered what you think about an inside cabin ? Thank you 😊
Hi Sam. Unfortunately Adam suffers from mild claustrophobia so we wouldn’t really be able to do an inside. However, when walking past they do look nice.
Thank you so much! That is really helpful information! Will give us a chance to think about the excursions to book . Take care x
Thank you 😊 much appreciated !
Hi guys great photos did u hear about the fire on discovery i just want to know what p and o is like are they bigger ship to tui
We love P&O as well much newer ships than Marella and much bigger. I think Marella ships are super friendly with amazing shows. However you can just drive to Southampton and get straight on P&O with no flying. We love them both for different reasons. I always look at the itinerary first to see what places we want to go and visit. Hope this helps
THANKS
Hi guys just seen the news about the fire on discovery, hope your both okay . How as it affected your holiday
Hi steve, we are lucky our holiday finished 2weeks ago so no problems for us. Hopefully the ship should be back in action next week 🤞
@@karlkaptured4200 thats good to hear , thank you for us letting us know. Take care
Hello, your videos are fab and have Ben a ig help! My husband an I are planning on booking the Marella American Dream, sunshine State & sands Cruise for September 2023. This would be our first cruise. There are just a bit of info I can't find... when arriving in all ports how to get to each main destination point and is this included or do you arrange yourself and also getting back to the ship. Thank you 😊 Sam
Hi Sam. Getting to the main destination is not included unless you book an excursion with Tui. For example in Miami we booked the South beach Explorer excursion. This consisted of a bus to the south beach area and then collected afterwards and taken back to the ship after a mini tour of Miami by bus. You can book excursions through Tui or independently if you prefer. On our cruise the ports are as follows:
Freeport - dock in an industrial port. Recommend excursion if you want shops or a beach
New York - ship docks in Manhattan and you can walk to Times Square / Broadway in approx 20 minutes.
Charleston - you can walk from where the ship docks into main town with 10/15 minutes
Port Canaveral - recommend excursion as nothing really in the port
Dominican - ship docks in amber cove which is full of shops, eateries, a pool etc
Key West - ship docks in heart of town and you can easily walk around. Most southerly point can be reached after approx 20 minute walk
Miami - recommend excursion as nothing in the port and not easy to get anywhere
Fort Lauderdale - recommend as per Miami
Hope this helps! Hope you had an amazing time ☺️
