In '71 Chevy offered both a 400 ci small block and a 402 ci big block they called a 400, which is what this is. My parents bought a new '71 Caprice with the 402 big block and it became my first car. Great motor, but not a 454.
Funny that the brochure shows two 400's one 300 hp 4bbl and a 454 365 hp. 350 was not in Caprice. No 402 mentioned bur others have said so so brochure musr be wrong.

In 2006 I got a 1976 Caprice sedan very well loaded every conceivable option 1,689 miles with the window stickers still on the glass never been registered. I still have it hidden in my garage with 2,300 miles. Essentially a brand new Chevrolet Caprice Classic sedan. I'm asking $1 million for it.

My grandfather had the 4 door version Biscayne with the 454 / 390 hp police package when he was the chief of police here
Not big on ragtops so I would dig this one. Love those side skirts, they give it character. I would only add wire wheels to it and leave it alone.
