I’ve never seen handmade in tubes before! Handmade has quickly become my favorite type of watercolor. You can just FEEL the care for art in them, and functionally most handmades I’ve used have been creamier, smoother and more lively on the page

Yes rare, to be handmade tubes. but a one woman show. Small batch and 12 colors. They work best out of the tube. Thank you!

I just bought the entire set. What gorgeous colors! I found it interesting when you said you didn’t think we needed to buy the entire set. To maybe just buy one. I think the paint and the colors are just too beautiful and original to do that. 😂 I’m interested to know if you still love them and what you’ve used them for. Thank you for the video!

I do love them, they have a different feel and texture. Very well made, some colors are similar to another. Thank you.

The greens don't look green but yellow. I love the indigo. Can you imagine a stormy sky in that color.

The indigo is gorgeous. Very moody colors, the greens and yellow could use a boost, but the other colors are really fantastic

i think that adding the indigo to the "greens" would give better greens

Yes it does! And they also have a bit more tinting strength than the yellow.

When you say 'the bug' I presume you mean cochineal? My mum used to buy that for red colour for cooking!

Thank you for showing us these paints. I really like the color selection. Can you tell me if the paints flow at all? It seems to me they don't flow at all and you had to work at them to make the swatches. If they flow, what are they comparable to please? Thank you!

    • @RaspberryColors

They don’t flow easily, granular feel. Very handmade feel.

Love the look of them, but being made from plants I doubt they'd be lightfast sadly, madder and carmine as well as real indigo for example are known to be highly fugitive. It would be interesting for someone to do a lightfast test to be sure. Beautiful colours though shame they're probably only good for sketchbooks.

They said they had them independently tested and got a 6 out of 7. But yes you are right, caution on these is needed or self testing.

I like the top row too. I wonder what the lightfast is. The greens remind me of formula fed infant poop. Lol, sorry...it just does. I do like the brown.

I agree, the lightfast from independent testing came in at a 6 out of 7 , according to the company info that I found. So? I think we would have to test for ourselves.
