Dreamcast was ahead of its time and the games were amazing. This console deserved to sell better. Happy birthday, Dreamcast!

It was a great console. But you can’t forget the ps2 just came out and it dominated the market, rightfully so.

I was watching the NEWS about it September 1999 when I was in 4th Grade Elementary School during the Final Years of the 90's. What a Time to be alive as an Early pre-teen of the LAST DECADE of the Century 1900-1999, about to become Teenagers/Adulthood in the 2000's.

The Dreamcast is awesome! I recommend play one of its games even if it’s ported like Jet Set Radio

Loved the DC. I remember when it launched my mom got it for me..then not long after the price dropped pretty significantly.
    She wasn't too happy lol

I bought a Dreamcast during the pandemic and was amazed it was a 20 year old console.
Fun fact: the original Xbox started development as Dreamcast 2

Oh, so that's why they have similar looking controllers 🤔

That doesn't count as a dreamcast 2, this Xbox is more like "making it better than the dreamcast".

WOW. ha. Such a cool post / news segment. You guys should definitely pick more cool little segments from 20 years ago more often!

X-Band actually allowed you to play Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo online back in the day.

THAT WAS MAKING THE 64-BIT NINTENDO 64 CRITICALLY TOO SLOW IN IT'S BITS PROCESSING COMING ON SEPTEMBER 9, 1999 FOR THE LAUNCH OF THE 128-BIT SEGA DREAMCAST AS THE FOLLOWING THREE YEARS TO THE 1996 UNTIL THE RISE OF NINTENDO'S IMPROVED IMPRESSIVE 256-BIT NINTENDO SWITCH HOPEFULLY STARTING IT'S PROGRESSING IMPRESSION IN 2018 AND HAPPILY CONCLUDED IT'S PROGRESSING IMPRESSION IN 2021!!! 💀💀💀💀💀

The reporter sounds like he doesn't play videogames at all like he wants to say "why am i reporting on this toy that messes up your TV", lol
but that was very common of adults back in the 80s and 90s not caring about video games

SEGA themselves were using the Star Wars TPM comparison as a way to hype the system successful launch in the west. The DC's launch represented the biggest earnings in a 24 hour period in all of entertainment up to that point, besting the films single day gross.

"the future of gaming is the internet" he was right... but if you have friends, playing in the same room was always better...
1:16 "the water looks almost too real" xD
56k modem. xD Dreamcast had amazing graphics and smooth 60 fps and good titles... Nintendo and Sony just had better content and library.

Sony ponies? Is that the only thing you come up with? It's more like Sony playstabbing ( PlayStation. ).

@foreverretro8298 I have a particular vendetta against Sony as well, namely because of their PlayStation consoles; besides them being the reason why Sega left the console wars, they rely way too heavily on third-party support (Sega and Nintendo make their own games) and their button scheme is different from every other major console on the market.
