I’m headed to Cozumel in 16 days! Thanks for the tips no other channel has explained the beaches in such detail! Thanks a million!
So jealous!! Have so much fun! Cozumel is awesome :) We're happy to hear you found the video useful. Have a mojito (or margarita) for us at 'Welcome to Miami' (if you drink of course!) If not, just enjoy the beautiful Caribbean blue waters 😍
My wife and I followed a couple of your suggestions today and had a great day! We went to Playa Corona and had a great time snorkeling and then had a fantastic mojito. Thank you for making a great video.
that's awesome! glad you had a nice time at Playa Corona, we really loved that place. we'll be back in Cozumel next month and will definitely go back. thanks for the comment 🤿
I’m already back from Cozumel! i wished I seen this before our trip, more excuse to come back.
That's the spirit! 👏🏼Cozumel is a place that you go back to! We can't wait to be back either and explore more ❤
I love Playa Corona & Miami Bar! Two of the best spots on the island.
We could use one of those mojitos right now :)
These beaches are so beautiful! So many great options. Thanks for all the info guys!
Thank you!! :) Hope it helps 🙏🏼
Playa corona the best. The shore is roped off so tourists don’t walk on coral. They still do. Best snorkeling. Been there 8 times
Best snorkeling for sure!! We want to go back :)
Thank you so much for the information. We're planning our trip now for Aug and I'm definitely visiting some of these places now.
So happy to hear you found the video useful! Have so much fun in Cozumel! Let us know if you have any other questions about it. We're happy to help!
Oh Cozumel! This place was so fun! Can’t wait to go back to these beautiful beaches! 😍
Next Winter maybe? :)
If you guys move to Cozumel, please open an Airbnb or something so I can get the chance to hangout and have a private tour. Already dreaming about Olaya Corona! ✨💛
How about a couple extra rooms in our house? :) We have to go back to Cozumel together!! ❤️
Nice video! I took my family to Cozumel in July 2020 during the pandemic. It was amazing. Heading back this July again. Amazing reef, great food. Can’t wait!
Yes! So happy for you!! We can't wait to be back one day. It's the perfect place to go on vacation if you love the water :) Have so much fun with your fam!! 💕
Thank you for the content, you guys provided great insight into the island!

thank you. One of the more helpful vids we've seen on cozumel! Excellent. Ha, here's it is a year later too.
Thanks so much for watching guys! Happy to hear you liked it :) Enjoy paradise. We can't wait to be back!!
They all look beautiful!
They really are!
Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
You're very welcome 😎
We spend two months every winter on Cozumel at the Landmark, with different friends visiting us each week. So I really appreciate that this video does indeed hit the best beaches, thank you. I’d just like to suggest that you never touch coral even on artificial reefs, as you could be affecting the deaths of colonies of animals. I know you want to model good behavior for the tourists who will follow you to Cozumel. You might also want to suggest that they use only “reef safe” sunscreen, if any at all. That’s the law in Cozumel.
I was there last month , absolutely beautiful and great food drinks , mojitos , margaritas etc,.
So glad to hear you enjoyed too! Cozumel is heaven. We can't wait to be back and snorkel, dive, eat all the yummy foods and have the best mojitos again!!!! Cheers!
You guys are the best ! keep doing the Great work !
Hi Thomas! Thanks so much for kind words 🥰

Hola! Gracias!!! Si, de verdad que Cozumel es una BELLEZA!! Esperamos volver pronto 🙏🏼
This is an amazing and very helpful video thank you
You're welcome! Happy you found it useful :)
Beautiful place, looking forward to it in January.
Cozumel is the best! You're going to love it.
hello, excellent video and i visited cozumel in 1998 after i graduated from a military tech school. I had no idea what this island offered with all these beaches etc. i had a good time and just stayed at the all-inclusive motel the entire time at cozumel. i had a blast with the swimming and snorkeling and just exploring the town. They also had horse back riding, the locals performed all kinds of night time entertainment on the beaches. I will use this information from the video and others videos to explore more of the island. thank you so much for doing this for all of us you tubers.
The snorkeling is the best! I can imagine Cozumel has changed so much since 1998. We hope you get to go soon! Cozumel is awesome! Let us know if you have any questions when planning your trip :)
Very nice vibe!!!
Hi! Thanks so much! Happy to hear you liked the video :)
Gracias por visitar Mexico
Cozumel here I come!
Oh yes please!!!! 🙏🏼 Have so much fun in paradise and have a mojito in 'welcome to miami' for us! (if you drink of course, if not just enjoy the beautiful beaches and fishies!)
Great video with very useful information, thank you
Glad to hear! Thanks so much for watching ❤️
thanks!
Love these tips! How do you get to El Cielo Beach from the ferry?
Hi Martha - thanks for the comment! El Cielo beach is in Punta Sur Eco Park, which is on the southern tip of the island. It's about a 45 minute drive from the ferry. By far the most fun way to get there is by renting a scooter in town! This would also be cheaper than getting a taxi and negotiating that they pick you up when you are ready to go (this part of the island is pretty remote). Note that there is a different El Cielo which is very popular with boat tours... they are easy to find and they would depart somewhere near the ferry (in town). Hope this helps :)
Thanks guys
Our pleasure! Thank YOU for watching! :)
been to cozumel 11 times my favorite island
Cool! That's GOALS for us! We fell in love and cannot wait to be back many times ❤️
You guys are awesome
Hi Jesus! Thank you!! ❤️
Palancar has a family of raccoons living under the restaurant. Still wild, but won't bother you...just hook them up with some leftovers. Cielo is amazing. Stingrays swim along the sandbar about 50 yards from the beach. Go out to see them. Used to people being around and no one gets stung you can get really close and get some great pictures.
OMG yes! We loved those little raccoons, they're so cute! And we loved El Cielo and did see a huge stingray when we snorkeled, but really far from shore. Still, it was awesome! We love it there and love Cozumel so much! Can't wait to be back 🙂
Do you bring your snorkeling gear on your trip or is it provided at each local that you pay to get into?
I wouldn't say it's provided, but most beaches that have good snorkeling do rent them out for an additional fee. Although we did bring our own gear...
Can you tell me what snorkel gear you had on, on this video, I love to snorkel but i have a problem finding a good mask that doesn’t let water in.
Hello, I honestly don't know which brand of mask we use (they are back 'home' in a closet). But it wouldn't do you much good to know what mask we use - ideally you could visit a scuba shop that could recommend a mask that fits your specific face. Different masks suit people with wider faces, bigger noses, etc. etc. It's worth the investment to find 'your' mask 😎 if you do buy a new mask, ask for help removing the protective film on the inside - otherwise it will fog up like crazy once underwater
How do you film underwater?
Thanh you for thế info
You're welcome! :)
Puenta Morena and their crazy $20 per person fee, just ridiculous! Just like Vegas and their "resort fee." For that reason alone I will never visit as I'm sure other lovely and free beaches are near. I've been exploring Mexico since the early '80 and these last several years with their "extract as much money from the gringos as possible" is getting really old.
I enjoyed the rest of you vid and thank you both for remembering to always include prices on everything as it's very helpful. Suerte!
I know! So pricey! It's a nice spot but it is a little too much... that's why we liked Chen Rio better :) I can't imagine how different Mexico must be when comparing it to the 80's... 🙈 We saw too many scams happening and it sucked :( We try to stay away from the more visited spots because of this reason (even though Cozumel is an exception because we love the underwater life).. but we're heading back to Mexico in January, this time we'll be staying in Oaxaca City for a whole month and exploring the surrounding areas. If you have been and have recs, feel free to send them over :)
@@waysoftheworld_ Wish I could help you regarding Oaxaca but have yet to visit. The town is known for it's excellent cuisine so the two of you should be right at home and will be looking forward to your TR. I do have some very nice wool rugs that a friend picked up for me there and they are truly beautiful yet I imagine expensive now. I don't remember how many my friend and his girlfriend purchased there but it was in the dozens! I met them in TJ to help bring them back and it took the 3 of us 2 trips to get them all over. They sold most of them upon returning home to SoCal paying for their trip and a little more of course keeping the best ones for themselves. Believe me, they a quite spectacular as you will discover.
My first trip was driving and camping the country in '82 I believe although it may have been '81 and spent almost a month camping so many beautiful beaches. We made it to Mexico City, visited the pyramids and a tequila farm then it was back to the coast of Manzanillo to begin working our way home.
Cabo San Lucas only had a single paved road then, Hwy 1 that led into town from the north. Every tributary road was dirt and most quite rough. I purchased a long western leather style jacket in Guadalajara for $350, yikes! But so beautiful and I knew in the states it would've been $700-$800 and I had to have it. Over 40 years later I still have it and it's as new.
I could go on and on but this is your thread so perhaps another time. Best of wishes on you next trip!
At Chen Rio can you rent beach chairs and umbrellas? If so, do you know the cost? We leave for Cozumel in two days and we are so excited. It is our first trip there!
Hi Becky! Have so much fun in Cozumel!! We actually don't remember seeing a lot of beach chairs and umbrellas at Chen Rio... I think the ones we saw were the ones people brought for themselves. You can sit on regular chairs with umbrellas (like beach restaurant style) if you eat at the restaurant, which is right on the water basically. G just looked it up and we are 80% sure you would be able to ask the restaurant for lounge chairs. I hope they have them and that it works out for you!
I'm going on a cruise to Cozumel. Is there a shuttle to Punta Sur?
Not that I'm aware of. You would need to take a taxi and then manage to also get one back to town. Punta Sur is somewhat remote.
so you mentioned cochinita pibil at the end of this video. where exactly did you try this at in cozumel? and would you recommend this place again?
Hi. So, the place is called 'La Cochinita de Don Benja'. It's in the outskirts of town, close to the airport. I tried to find it in Google Maps but it's not there because it's basically 'Don Beja's house hahaha (ask locals, it was close to a market too) I think he only opens on Sundays and it sells out before 10 am. You can see how the place looks like in this video: czcams.com/video/tf5lcllmmXs/video.html (starts at 44 secs)
With El Cielo you need to know exactly where to go, when you are in the right place, the snorkeling is phenomenal!
Oh really!? We'll give it another chance next time and hire a boat to take us. This is good to know. Thanks :)
@@waysoftheworld_ you don’t need a boat. You go to the second restaurant, make about a 45 degree angle with your arm. Swim out to the third coral reef bar and down the coast. But, some of the boats on the island do take you to some wonderful spots.
What time of year is best to visit Cozamel?
They a look beatifull♡♡♡♡♡♡
Cozumel is paradise! We really enjoyed our time there and can't wait to be back :)
🔥🔥
🙌🏻🙌🏻
we are about to go for the first time but we are so indecisive about where to stay! We keep hearing about places with private beaches you can snorkel off of, but they tend to be very expensive all inclusive resorts and we aren't sure its worth it. Where did you stay and did you like it?
Hi! We stayed at an Airbnb close to the airport and had a great host and was super affordable! (20 min walk from town). Here's the link: www.airbnb.com/rooms/53083035 (we also quickly shared it in our Cozumel video). Not fancy, but it was very clean and cheap!
As for snorkeling, none of the beaches we shared in the video are in all inclusive resorts (we never went to one during our entire stay). For snorkeling, Playa Corona was our favorite! No need to pay for an expensive hotel for epic snorkeling! Have fun in Cozumel! Let us know if you have any other questions :)
You can also check out Airbnb's closer to town maybe? There are def nicer options than ours! But just know, you don't have to pay for an expensive hotel to guarantee great snorkeling!!
How many days would you recommend staying? My husband and I aren't divers but we do love relaxing at the beach and finding quieter spots off the beaten path!
This is hard. It depends on how many days you want to relax in Cozumel haha I'd say at least 3 full days ;) but seriously, we were there for 2 weeks and LOVED every minute (and would go back a million times!), so it's really up to you and how much time you have. Safe travels to paradise!
We are hoping to do a week on Cozumel! I can't wait. :) Do you think a day trip to Playa to see the town and some cenotes would be worth it?@@waysoftheworld_
I like Mexico and her beaches...of course Cozumel too..But the beaches are not as nice as those in Asia ( Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines...).
Sands are fine and white, beaches are so clean, clear and NO seaweed. .and very affordable. You guys should check it out when have a chance..
Asia is HIGH on our list for next year!!! We've seen photos and videos and WOW... They really look stunning!! Hopefully we'll get to go :)
Agreed. Haven't been to Mexico beaches but lived in Japan for some years and the beaches there are Cry-worthy. Lolol! Love Okinawa!!
@@goodluvv Okinawa is HIGH on our list!!!!
People say to be careful drinking water in Mexico. Does that include mixed drinks like margaritas and other mixed drinks (due to the ice)?
So, we've never had a problem. As far as I understand, ice is always made with filtered water, so it should be fine :) Enjoy all the margs!!
Om swastiastu suksma.
I vote for Playa Punta Morena beach 😀😍🤩
Good one!!! It's such a nice beach. Very chill and relaxed. We want to go back to Cozumel so badly! 😍
we're on a short leash this time, just a day (next week, the 5th). I'm an avid diver but only snorkeling this time with my wife and a 12 and 16 year old. Thinking head East, hang at Chen Rio then South to Punta Sur and would like to swim at Cielo, then head back. Can you please let me know what you think?, and on our route what would be the best lunch? Really appreciate what you guys do! Best wishes, David
Hi David! Thanks for reaching out! So fun that you guys are heading to Cozumel! That sounds like a nice plan, Chen Rio is awesome and the food was good (but a little bit pricey). El Cielo is beautiful, but just so you know snorkeling there was really far from shore. We swam like 30-40 mins to make it to the reef and the currents were pretty strong, so be careful. Also keep in mind that there are 2 'El Cielo' beaches and the one you can visit from Punta Sur is not the same one that they sell on the boat tours.
On the East side we only know a little shack called 'Miami Bar' which has the best mojitos ever and we heard decent food too (but it's just a shack). Consider visiting Playa Corona, which is on the way back to town and it is by far the best snorkeling we did (no beach though, just a restaurant with water access). You can also eat there. Food in all of these places was good but not GREAT. Have fun and safe travels to paradise!!
@@waysoftheworld_ Thank you for the response and can't say enough good stuff about you two. We'll let you know how it goes! If you're ever in Austin come eat at our restaurant about 40 minutes out...Jobell Cafe & Bistro
@@sophistifunksrawoldschool1813 we're always happy to help!! That's awesome, thanks so much for the invite!! We went to Austin once for 24 hours and we LOVED it! We hope to be back for longer!! Thanks so much for being here and hope Cozumel was fun yesterday :)
@@waysoftheworld_ we escaped the tourist areas and found a beat up Jeep on some side street 10 mins. from the port. My wife is fluent (being Cuban and Chinese) and was able to negotiate with a nice woman after avoiding the hustlers gathered outside. We took off, visited Chen Rio, then a quick bite at Palancar, then finally found Corona (took a bit of doing), had a lovely swim. My 16 year old son and I snorkeled out a hundred yards or so to deeper water and then my 12 year old daughter held my hand as we snorkeled in the shallower areas. Really beautiful spot as you guys said! We then hauled ass to get back to the boat and return then car, lol. Thank you guys so, so much for the info. and the kindness. Hope to meet some day! David
Thanks for letting us know! This makes us really happy to hear 💞 and it also makes us want to go back to Cozumel 😂
Beatifull♡♡♡♡♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♡♡♡
Yes, Cozumel is stunning ❤️
You guys are so cute!
haha thank you!! :)
Which beach in Cozumel have the best white sand and fewer stones? We went to Tequila beach and we were disappointed because there is too much stones and less sand, too dangerous to swim.
Hi there :) From the ones we showed in the video, we recommend Punta Sur Eco Park and Chen Rio. We have more details about Cozumel beaches in this blog post: www.waysoftheworldblog.com/beaches-in-cozumel/
I am heading there in a few months but I am a little disappointed with the beaches. Most seem to be rocky compared to Jamaica where the beaches are great.
Yes, a lot of the beaches are rocky because it's surrounded by a very large reef, so they are mostly good for snorkeling. But we did visit a few sandy ones too and they were beautiful! Check out Chen Rio, Palancar, Eco Sur, Punta Morena and a lot of the ones that are like for cruises, so you pay a fee and consume all you want (we think). One of those is called Paradise Beach. Just keep in mind that you have to consume a minimum of about $8-$10 p/p (the only one that's free out all of these is Chen Rio). The colors of the ocean are beautiful and there's something for everyone!!
Allegro was not rocky at all perfect beach and cheno ?? sorry i can’t remember the name , I just got back ! Loveeeed it
@@ShelbyA2LA good to know!!! Chen Rio LOL I think... we loved that one too!!! Such a fun vibe there!
Should we bring our own snorkeling gear?
Hi! Yes, it is easier to bring your own gear. Some beaches rent equipment, but many great snorkeling places like Playa Corona do not.
many rocky beaches ,but this one in particular has good waves at this particular month day time czcams.com/video/gT8yiL8jVss/video.html
3:41 That looks like a flour tortilla. Flour tortilla's are difficult to find on Cozumel.
It was! Lucky us :) But honestly, we like the corn ones better ;)
Why do you have to pay for beach access? All Mexican beaches are public under federal law now.
I don't know why... it's just how they do it in Cozumel (for some of them)
you need to tell people to be extra careful on that side of the island..... many times those beaches there have huge under currents and will kill you..... I almost died on one several years ago... I don't go to those beaches any more....
Sorry to hear that! Glad you're ok. That must have been so scary! And we did said it in the video ;)
@@waysoftheworld_ yes you did tell us... its very important... I have seen more than one person die on that island because they didn't pay attention... both sides of the island can have very strong currents... I now all ways use my face mask and fins if I go into the water...
@@dixter1652 yes that sounds scary! We did the same too! :)
Punta Sur is a terrible snorkel location. Given its cost, terrible food, distance, poor hours-it’s only worth it when the wind is strong from the west. If it’s a sunny day, the water and sand color are breathtaking.
Sunset Beach is very commercial not natural
It is next to cruise ships and other ports and very crowded with tourists
The reef is being restored with concrete blocks, but that's normal - there are a ton of fish underwater and it's a great place to snorkel & learn to dive from shore. Also - as you can see from the video - it wasn't crowded at all once people got back on the cruise ships. You just have to time your visit.
Having lived in Cozumel for six 6 years, this video makes me laugh. It is so inaccurate.
sounds good. enjoy Cozumel
So where is the best beach to go snorkel and enjoy the beach, without having to pay for ‘all inclusive’? And just relax?
Here in Cozumel as we speak and and can’t wait to check out corona beach, sunset beach & the Miami bar thanks to your video! There are so many it’s a little overwhelming so it’s nice to see this it helps a lot. Thank you!
Ohhh you're in paradise!! Have so much fun and we're there making a big cheers with you at the Miami bar 🥰 We also have a blog post where we share even more Cozumel beaches if that helps... but spoiler alert, our favorite one is Playa Corona for snorkeling! 🤿 Here's the post in case you need other reviews about Cozumel beaches: www.waysoftheworldblog.com/beaches-in-cozumel/
