psst....don't need to take the solenoid off. That said, this was great. I'm having the leak that is spewing from the inlet side of the jar-to lid (by the detent / alignment nub).. This was 2 yrs ago. I clicked on your link...$6.27 for the Diaphragm.
Any one with an Hunter system....Jar-tops are easy to work on. If you live in location that needs winterization, the lids may be on tight. So use caution if you go after them with channel locks. I use a plumbing wrench or Lock-nut wrench. You can even replace the solenoid or the entire valve... The Valves are still available. Irrigation warehouses have them for $50 or less..

Box filled up with water due to leaking valve. Cleaned it all out, found leaking valve and replaced it. Now it’s the only valve that will run. I can run them all manually, but the computer will only turn on the new one despite which valve is supposed to be running. I even tried unwiring that one valve and it still comes on!

You don’t have to unplug your controller to replace a valve. Your controller only puts out low voltage so it won’t shock you as much. Also when the controller is on the off position. It does not send out electricity to those valves

When I saw leaking, I assumed something was cracked from improper removal of water before winter. I'm about to try a diaphragm replacement on one that is leaking. Where exactly does the leaking water come from? I was thinking that the unit was sealed and that if it was leaking, it would only go to the sprinklers.

Great video and info. What type of rubber gloves did you use? They look to have gripping to them.

hi todd, my front yard sprinklers are not turning on at all, i even went to the controller box and tried out multiple times, however they still do not turn on, however I found out that one of the valves are leaking, could this be the reason as to why they won't turn on? the ones in the back yard turn on just fine, and they have a different set of valves which do not leak, thanks
