No matter how many times I try the semi-auto snipers, I always come back to the bolt-actions and the 50's for that pure satisfaction of the powerful 1 shot kill.
Something i would really like to be added to insurgency would be a pair of detachable magazine bolt action snipers. Some ideas i have are the SV-98, M40A6, MK13 MOD 7, JS 7.62, L115A3, CS/LR3.
The SVD is the best, because it has a 10 round magazine(20 with extended magazines), it's semi auto and it uses the steel ass penetrating 7.62x54mmR caliber. + the nearly free PSO-1 scope makes it the best choice for marksmen. It can also be used as a normal battle rifle.
"Hey, Ivan, let's make a sniper out of this AK" -gets an SVD "Hey, Ivan, let's make a shotgun out of this AK" -gets a Saiga-12 "Hey, Ivan, let's make AK but semi-auto" gets an SKS "Hey, Ivan, you know what we didn't make out of this AK yet? A machinegun!" -gets an RPK
I still honestly dont know why people waste sniper slot by picking M24/Mosin instead of M110/SVD. You have enough points to slap scope, supressor, bipod and extended mag on SVD, and who cares about pistols when your gun oneshots everything
@@gonnegottkehaskamp1667 Personally I think this vid has missed the biggest point for the bolt actions, which is the high af stability. I rarely used any bipod on them and the ADS sway is minimal even if you're standing. So they're good for peeking at weird angle that requires you to be in some awkward position e.g. standing and/or leaning. Situational pick, but definitely not useless.
I started using this yesterday in domination and started quick scoping like an asshole. It worked. It worked too well. It's easy to feel like you get insta-killed when you use automatics, but it's funny how many bullets you can take when your enemy only takes one.

Bro that was some badass sniper gameplay. As someone who mainly plays milsim and RTS, and when I play Insurgency I mainly play PVE, I respect some good PC FPS skills that arent some buillshit COD copy paste post etc etc ya feel me
but that is true for every game though, you get killed by a sniper enough times especially in groundwars mw and suddenly a entire “task unit” of ten to 15 players will definitely go looking for the person
M24's not bad, but the Mosin is considerably better. It does fire slower, but has the option of Stripper Clips, and also has a lot more firepower. In fact, I recently saw a damage chart that said that the M24 would fail to one-shot a Heavy Armor target at 110 meters, which is just laughable. Good luck killing anyone with a wallbang with that firearm. also doesn't help that the hitreg is dogshit so sometimes a bolt-action just doesn't kill someone with a chest shot anyway
Bolt actions require patience and confidence in your shot, if you can get into the habit of only firing when you know you’re on target then you can increase your effectiveness with additional practice.
Hello, I was just wondering around youtube and randomly got recommended this video, I'm really interested in this game but I'm skeptical in regards to it's player base numbers, is it worth the buy in that sense?
It has a lot of free weekends and sales, I would put it on your wish list and monitor the price. Do a bit of research into the game yourself but from my opinion 30 dollars for an fps without a campaign is perfectly reasonable, and the $15 it's on sale for from time to time is an absolute steal, so if you're skeptical I can tell you with 100% certainty that for 15 bucks there's no reason to not buy this game. p.s. the playerbase is fine, I haven't had issues finding a match in over a year now.
That technically doesn't make it hit harder. It just makes it ignore armor. That being said, it does still hit harder because the SCAR has pitiful velocity, but technically both the G3A3 and FAL do more damage than the M24; it's just that the AP rounds allow the M24 to b a r e l y one-shot armor.
Honestly SVD is way better. It's nearly insta kill unless body shot and the person has heavy armor. In that case, quick follow ups due to semi auto, ooooooooo baby. SVD and silencer is unreal Plus it shoots that beefy ass mosin round. Shit shreds human flesh.
Reasons why the Mosin is better:
Reason 1. Stripper clips.

Its about the satisfying oneclick with an otherwise "useless" weapon. Good aim, one shot, low fire rate instead of just spamming M1.
