I love how he's just comfortable dancing and feeling his own selections, not obsessing over the EQs or endlessly scrolling through folders
Any time you see any DJ touching the top of pots and faders, you know they're doing utterly fuck all. People are so easily fooled by this bullshit and think it's some kind of mystic shit that effects the music.
Let's face it, the absolute peak of electronic music was in the mid 90's, everything was solid back then. All a DJ needed was two decks and a two channel mixer (and a crate of wicked records).
hypercatjohn let's face it, you just got old and got an elititst attitude. it's 2018 bro, not 1993. 25 fucking years have gone, hellloooo! I feel hatred in your tone. why hate, create. fx work/knob twiddling is an art. the fact that 99% of djs fail at it doesn't make good fx work any less valuable and enjoyable, for me at least.
also, you're saying that electronic music = dj culture. but what about production? there's so much good music out there, original, unknown music, with much more crispy production that it used to be to be honest. me, I don't really care about sound quality, I care about soul. and it's still there. but you're obviously still stuck in the 90s.
the way proper djing should be. Convey your feeling. Convey your love. Convey your tracks. Do not care about anything else.
@C.D. Have you actually listened to Skee Mask's music? His Compro album in particular is on another level. It's like nothing to have come out of the 90s, or even anything today. Though if you can point me in the direction of similarly deep and thought-provoking music, please do!

he's such a BOSS! so young, so talented and I know very few people who select tracks so carefully like this dude. And on top of that he's from greater Munich, which to say the least is not known to be a breeding place for TECHNOKINGS like this kid. Definitely worth to take a good glance at this boy!

bit weird what you say.. selecting your tracks carefully, make me think its a preset dj set, and not spontaneous live on the go selection. and picking the next tune should always be good but never perfect.

6ers a mixer. Has a certain something that you have to have to be a dope DJ. He's still got quite a ways to go, as a DJ, technically - and could benefit from experimenting with vinyls sets - but he's better than most of his peer group. With his selection, he should be more comfortable mixing these trax quicker; he should be going nuts like Derrick May or Dave Clarke.
His panache reminds me a lot of DJ Seinfeld - style too. Not sure which one will end up being the more accomplished artist. Interesting to watch this young scene develop.
I like Seinfeld but he's not got a patch on Brian I'm afraid.
