The 22-year-old 'RuPaul's Drag Race' season 12 runner-up opens up about her journey into drag, gender pronouns, her relationship with fellow 'Drag Race' runner-up Crystal Methyd and discrimination within the show's fandom.

I find it interesting 🤔 that at 3 years old GiGi was able to verbalize the idea that he felt like he was in the wrong body.... in a way that his mom could understand and “handle” it without causing any mental health issues.. bravo 👏🏽 mom ❤️💯👍🏽🇨🇦!!

she gets so much hate and for WHAT, she's the most genuine drag queen I've seen, every single comment of her gets so twisted, she doesn't deserve the hate.
AGREED! I've seen SO MANY rude comments about her when people are talking about their other favorite season 12 queens and it's just like, "Ya know, you can support your favorite queens without totally trashing another one." I feel like since she's gotten to a place where she's finally confident, people interpret that as conceited and bitchy, but I've seen the s12 queens talk about how helpful she was in the Werk Room, especially during the ball challenge and how she took the time to help the girls with their looks, Crystal said Gigi taught her how to curl her bangs during the show and she did all this while still totally ROCKING the challenges! Plus, she has really made a point to keep herself informed in current events since the political debate challenge, but people still wanna call her ignorant or cocky and it's so frustrating! She really seems like such a kind person! ❤ ...I'm very passionate about this, apparently.

I mean, there were queens I haven't necessarily liked in the past, but I would never go as far as to harass them online because that's nuts!

I've heard so many lovely things about her, so it's sad that she gets a bad rep for being "bitchy", when she's just confident, (and has had to work through some serious self esteem issues to get to that level of confidence) which isn't a bad thing!

Insecurities don't care if you're beautiful or not. I have a skinny body and I've been bodyshamed so much about it, people telling me that I look sick. You really need to learn to overcome that and not be disgusted by the way you look, like everybody else

Looking through the comments, I think it's so odd that even after Gigi proclaimed her love for Crystal, people are STILL confused about their relationship and how they feel about one another! If you follow them on Instagram, it's pretty obvious that they're crazy about each other. I'm really happy for them-- I always thought, even on Drag Race, that their amazing connection was pretty apparent and that they have something really special. I hope they can have more cute couple moments once a COVID-19 vaccine is available and it's safe to travel again! 😍❤😍❤😍(Or before, as Crystal has mentioned taking a road trip to see Gigi, which is totally doable with masks worn in public and hand washing!)

Gigi I loved the buttons and bows runway look! Definitely my favorite from the season. Everybody seemed to like it but that was about it. I think maybe people didn’t like that there wasn’t really any bows but I mean🤷🏼♀️still fucking cutest shit ever. The colors and the silhouette and the texture and the wig and the makeup was perfection. I was in love with it! So underrated!

To be honest, they should of saved the double crowning for her and Jaida. They were both on the same level on everything...
Also don’t forget, Drag Race now is an international phenomenon. Lots of drag queens have fans and followers outside of America. Racism is even more evident in some other European countries or outside Europe. So lots of followers do not follow black queens but only white ones.
South America is really racist against black queens as well.
