She is writing an entire Novella with Chaol's story because she couldn't fit his perspective in EoS because he was going to a whole new land and there was worldbuilding she needed that she couldn't fit in this book.

Great video! You guys are so fun together! I totally agree that I was unsure of Manon in the last 2 books but I LOVED her in this one. Lysandra and Aedion are so perfect. Poor Aelin at the end. That was a rough scene to read. I missed Chaol too, but at least we will get the novella about his time in the southern continent. Imagine if he had been in this too is would have been even longer! (not that I would have minded)

One issue I have with the whole series is that the characters really aren't that different from each other, I think this is especially true for the Fae males. I dunno I kinda don't care a whole lot about Aelin anymore. I loved that scene when she was Celaena but I don't understand why there is such a divide between her old self and her new self. I loved Elide and Lorcan's relationship but if I really consider it, it's quite like Rowan and Aelin in Heir of Fire where they hated each other at the start and gradually start feeling things for each other. I am a sucker for those kinda relationships. I loved the whole battle at Skull's Bay and the hunt for the lock in Ellywe.

Hey boos, great review😄. I'm late to the party but I just wanted to add that I don't think she butchered chaol's character at all or that she did it for Rowans sake. She revealed Chaol's character and that says a lot about who he is vs who we believed him to be. The signs were always there. He worked for a monster like the king for years and years, looked around him at the slave camps and the oppression and actually thought that that is how things were supposed to be. Even Dorian knew his own father was a monster, why didn't Chaol? When you start asking those questions, it tells you a lot about his mindset that readers who didn't have to ask themselves those questions before, might not want to see. It doesn't mean it came out of nowhere though. Right from the earlier scenes in throne of glass when they were friends and he liked her, you could still see that he didn't trust her. Right from that moment Caelena had to come to him to ask for permission to go around the castle, joking she wouldn't kill everyone, I knew they wouldn't work, because even she was aware of how much he didn't trust her and by then, he should have known who she was. A part of Chaol looked at her and just saw a pretty assassin so the moment she became more powerful than him, the moment she became something he couldn't control, she became a threat. That does not a healthy relationship make.
I shipped her with no one until that scene in roan where they were hiding in the tree, and she out her face in his chest, and described his arms as being like walls around her. When I saw how he made her feel safe, and the simple intimacy implicit in her being able to press her face to his heart, I knew they would be endgame. And that was all the way back in wendelyn😂

11:48 I think Ailen is already pregnant, thats why Mave haven't already killed her. Mave just want that child, thats why Ailen started to cry on the beach while Mave was talking about her future child. I think Fenrys and Graviel understood that to, because they started to shake their heads in shock.

I am really hoping that Sarah J Maas lives up to the hype of being an amazing author that booktube and good reads sets her up to be. I finally gave in and purchased A court of thorns and roses. I have been pretty disappointed with previous overhyped books on booktube so if she flunks the hype in my opinion I am not going to run out and purchase another over exaggerated book or author anytime soon 😩😋 Anyway I really enjoyed your video as always ❤️

Just so you know, a lot of people didn't *love* ACOTAR but the second, ACOMAF, is absolutely amazing! So I would give both a shot before you decide wether or not you like them.
