Some of the most kind people I've ever met, anywhere, were in the far South of India, Kerala and Sri Lanka. I swear I just want to hug the elder people. They all feel like dear, favorite family elders. It's not an illusion either, they are literally opening their family to you. I like Carlos child-like approach in places like this- Curt Katz definitely has his role, but it is different light that is also interesting.

Newly subbed. Great adventures Carlos. I only have 3% battery life on my phone, i strongly suggest before u see any river or lake assume their are "Mugger Crocs". Ask the locals if theu are Mugger crocs before u enter any waterway.

The poster you saw is a death notice... You were correct at the beggining. Normally in Sri Lanka if someone died those posters are pasted to let the village know.. because unlike other countries when more than happy events, in sad events neighbours and other locals come to share the sad and help in bad times

Visit "Polonnaruwa" the ancient city(GAL VIHARA) and the tank "Parakrama Samudraya" as well. This is one of the largest and most famous reservoirs in Sri Lanka. Sri developed a lot more when we didn't have kings. 42000 tanks were built by the people. Masons, architects, engineers,they are the life blood of the country. Not Jayawardena,rajapakse or even parakramabahu
