  • Stuff is about to happen! Come on along with me as I finally start to harvest my soybeans. There are a few stumbling blocks along the way but we'll get through them!

Enjoyed watching your bean harvest. Makes me wanna farm again on a small scale. Love your old equipment and simplicity. I got old equipment too and might just keep it. Ex: 403 Intl combine. Had a bunch of stuff like an f2 Gleanor combine and an Allis/C 200 tractor farming 23 acres. Thanks for your vids. Inspiring me!

I have to admit that besides being too expensive for a small operation, the newer stuff is just so darned complicated for this old dog. Anyway, thanks for watching and by all means, have at it on your place! Good luck!

I agree, can't learn anything if I can't work on it. Gotta get my hands dirty. Love that old heavy iron and the small guy! We're the underdogs. Ha.

It’s easy to give advice from here but it’s easy to see that your real needs to be moved back toward the cutterbar about an inch or inch and a half. You want the reel to keep cutterbar clean but not let the reel tines get in the blade. Real speed looks good. Some varieties are tougher to cut than others. Very good looking beans. Good looking machine.

Thanks! They give you basics in the book but it takes some trial and error to get most of the settings dialed in. I will try what you suggest the next time I use it. Thanks for watching!

You Tube Popped your Channel up... So I decided to watch..... I cannot explain why but soybeans seem to have lost their popularity in my part of the country..... Cotton and peanuts are more favored now... But After a few years of growing those we were offered a chance to become involved in growing and selling hay.... not on the scale as quite a few Big time growers but still more profitable than cotton and peanuts.... Our system is 6 months round baling......12 months converting to small squares.... More interested in your Haying

The kicker is new for me this year. So far, I like it a lot! I might be increasing my acreage in the future but for now I'm doing enough. Again, Thanks for watching!

Well I hope you got the change timed on the side for the cylinder speed. I've done that too and can't remember what I had to do to time it. I think I just moved it till the belts were tight.
