WHY is it PTO powered?? We had one of these back in the '60's that was simply "ground powered" (meaning the soil turned the blades as it rolled through the soil, like an ordinary disk). I can see NO advantage to having the thing PTO powered, particularly with smooth disks (non-notched) because it's not going to allow it to penetrate into the soil any better or break the soil up any better. I dont have this harrow but in my opinion when come dry season in some country in asia this pto harrow will help a lot...when i use ordinary offset harrow to prepare land in my farm i break 3 times the harrow joint because land is too hard..
Discs of the harrow need not rotate to cut or brake the soil to the optimum depth in drier soil as it is harder.Thats why extra force via PTO is required.Either u wet the soil or use PTO driven harrow
