    Lexol cleaner and conditioner works great also! And normally you want to let the conditioner dry over night before wearing..

    What brand products are you using?

    • @HeavyMetalLearning
      @HeavyMetalLearning  Před 3 lety +1

      Obenauf's oil and Obenauf's heavy duty LP. Been using both exclusively for awhile on all my work boots.

    Is it bad for me to wash them off with water after the soap?

    • @HeavyMetalLearning
      @HeavyMetalLearning  Před 3 lety +3

      Good question. Here's why it is good - it helps strip the boot down to closer to the original leather (removes more dirt, patina, grease, sweat, etc...) Here's why it is bad - It water logs the boot so you have to wait to apply any leather care products, potentially gets mold and rot into the boot, strips more of the natural oils out. If you do a thorough wash and rinse... make sure to get the boot completely dry then you are going to need to apply a leather conditioner/oil liberally. Then apply Obenhauf's LP or waxes after. I do this sometimes like on a Friday night so it is ready by Monday again. Please let me know if that helps or if you have more questions.

      I really appreciate your reply, it answers the couple questions I had. I’m still learning boot care after years of blown out sides and dried cracked leather so your boot videos are a major help.
