- Another joint for gluing boards together, this week we are looking at the finger joint. i love this joint because its a good looking joint if you are gluing different types of wood together which can be left in view.
the cutter i use is a universal cutter which has many different purposes.
hope this helps someone and i hope you enjoy.

It's really a loose fit. That should hold together on its own. My guess is there must have been some movement during machining.
Great looking joint!
Thank you carol.
Vídeo muito útil...thanks!
That does look nice!!!
Also a very strong joint.
@@SKKrafts Yes it is, ALOT more glue area!
Good video well done mate
Thank you glad you enjoyed
Super
Sir I am worried you don't use feather boards or push stick or a scrap of material to reduce tear out. Please reconsider having them one second on that machine done wrong will mess you up.
Hi mike. I Sonia e feather boards if I am doing larger pieces but on small parts it not to bad. I understand where you are coming from and I appreciate your concern.
Thank you for the comment.
How to do this joint without table saw (i.e. just with hand tools)
You could cut them by hand but I used a router table to cut these.
is hardwood good for finger joints?
yes you can use any wood for finger jointing.
Where did you get that universal router bit?
I believe it came from eBay.
@@SKKrafts First. You are amazing. You're the first youtuber who's responded to a comment from a video over a year old. Good deal man. That got you a sub right there.
Second. I tried that link in the description and it says they couldn't find the page so maybe they removed their product. Either way I'm looking for one. Do you happen to know the manufacturer or name brand of the bit? Thank you sir.
Thank you, I always reply to anyone who comments. The least I can do for anyone who watches them be of my videos.
This is not the same but try this one.
Item number is for eBay 185186174657
@@SKKrafts sweet thank you!
No problem. Always happy to help.
Congratulations!!! You're the FIRST and only person I've seen in more than 13-videos I've watched on "how to cut finger-joint's" who, after cutting two pieces identically, simply flipped the two pieces to join them. All others tried adding spacers for the 2nd. piece instead of just flipping them over.
Thank you Mike. Isn’t that the idea so it makes it simple. Glad it helps.
Going to have to agree with this comment. you are the first in many years to do a finger joint correctly with a router. Thank you
Thank you for your lovely comment.
me too.
in what universe is that a "nice joint" ?? especialy a "tight joint" ????
Thanks for watching
