I'm going through this b******* today. My mechanic did supposedly replace the hardware. Well he only did one side. I'm stuck with the old Stars. Torques
One trick to Not strip the pins it: Make sure the hole is clean before inserting the torx bit in there. Get all that dirt out with a toothpick or something. If its a car you never removed the pin before, stick the torx bit in the pin, then put a wrench on the bit and put slight pressure. Then with a hammer, tap the bit (in torwards the pin) while maintaining pressure turning it. If you slipped and deformed the torx pard on the pin, you can get them back into shape like this also by appiying pressure torwards the tightening side. If you are lucky, it will be just enough to get it lose.
Put torch on the bolts. You will melt boots but replace them. I took boots off before heating with torch to minimize mess.

Omg thank you. I’m working on my 03 Tahoe and having problems with this.
These pins are not on my 1999 Yukon Denali. Haven't been able to find one anywhere on YT.
