It makes sense. She said multiple times she can’t cook i remember i couldn’t cook either until i started to live on my own then i had to learn to cook by myself. It means she has never really been independent, she might be financially but she missed a few steps in basic survival.
That makes her very easy to control.
Especially if she had to grow up seeing a toxic relationship between her parents, it's easy to fall into a manipulative or abus*ve relationship when that's what you saw as normal.

It reminds me of my experiences and how I've always attracted much older men since I was little. Even now that I'm 31 it hasn't changed I had a man that was 39 after me in real life when I was 19 and he had a whole wife and kids at home and that's just one of the cases. I thought it was weird back then but being older just makes me scared if I was to have a daughter because it seems so common but because men rule the world so it's just accepted. 😟

I heard someone explain it like this; sometimes trauma can freeze your development. Becoming famous can be a traumatic enough event to do this. Its as if their mind stays the same age. A lot of people have said what you said Sloan about the control in the relationship and that basically how creepy it is, and when you think about how young and naïve she was at the time, it makes sense. I also think Ariana and Britney have maybe went through similar things.

Now I wonder if he still does that shit when he comes by the campus and I wonder if I should speak out… on top of that I think he was supposed to be dating someone at that time too! Her not leaving is an extremely unfortunate decision on her part but also understandable due to the fact she has kids/a whole family in the mix and an image to uphold, but because of this she doesn't know if he's still cheating. That's why forgiveness can be a slippery slope, especially if you don't know who you're dealing with, and seeing as he cheated on her, Beyonce' didn't really know him as well as she thought she did. I mean, how does she know that he's not still cheating on her after all of this? Giving someone a second chance with a major betrayal like this sometimes just makes the cheater better at hiding it or maybe even teaches the cheater how to be better at hiding their infidelity. Too risky.
Wouldn't be surprised if he was cheating prior to them having kids and I wonder if kids was Beyonce's way of trying to take control of things. (of course I am speculating) but you never know. I remember the time of Solange whooping Jay a few years after Blue so it could be possible.

J has low self esteem. He has been told all his life how ugly he is and he knows, deep down, that he doesn't really deserve all that he has. He knows that he's a mediocre rapper and a horrible person who has done awful things to others in order to have success. He took a beautiful young girl and broke her down in order to make himself feel better, but she's too scared of change to leave him. She probably brainwashed into believing that she literally cannot make it without him at her side. They've been together more than 20 years and she's nearly 42, so she doesn't know much else outside of him and doesn't want to know about life outside of him. Sad and a waste of her life.

In 2018, I went to the Jay Z and Beyoncé OTR II Tour and while I’m not sure if she was on drugs, she definitely seemed out of it. There was lots of swaying, not much engagement with the crowd, and she looked dead in the eyes. I was genuinely concerned for her.

I always thought R Kelly had something to do with Aaliyahs death due to the fact that 1, they dated when she was a minor, while they were working in her "Age ain't nothing but a number" album and 2, he married her illegally by lying on the marriage certificate and said she was much older than she was. I think towards the end of Aaliyahs life, she was going to expose R Kelly and what he did to her along with other girls, but then her plane went down.

About time this is being talked about. I always found this relationship to be very weird. I remember the first time I saw JayZ. It was in Beyonces music video "Crazy In Love" I was fricken 13 watching this video and my brain was like this guy looks like her dad...
When I found out they were a couple it never sat right with me. Their relationship has always seemed very transactional/buisness related.
As a 33 year old I absolutely can't see how this age gap is okay.
The power dynamic is huge.
The difference between 18 and 30 is far to great. Plus the fact they were likely dating a few years before she turned 18 says every you need to know about who JayZ is as a person.
Now I don't know if she's on drugs but that swaying thing was not somthing that seems recreational drug related. That swaying thing looks straight up like a trauma response. I've don't the same in one of my past abusive relationships....it's kinda like you just check out for a bit. Your brain just takes you somehwere else while you sway back and forth....
It could also be from prescription drugs which would mean she is highly overmedicated in that clip. Which would kinda be like what Brittany has been through.
I've had quite a few friends who have been incredibly overmedicated. It was no one's fault and way fixed after they ended up being the exact way Beyonce was in that clip. Dead eyed, swaying back and forth, no thoughts, very easily persuaded, agreeable, and parroting things. It was honestly scary as heck to see but they were lucky to be surrounded by people who advocated for them and got them on a proper dosage instead of keeping them that way.
I think getting to that crazy huge status goes hand in hand with dirty secrets about how you got there and how you stay there. People with That much money and power live differently. They have different values and morals because theyre living on a different level.

I've always thought Beyonce was too good for Jay-Z, and that he's controlling. I also have a belief (that I can't explain logically), one day she is going to have the strength to leave him for good. I hope I'm right. And I really hope the drugs rumor isn't true, even though it's unsurprising. It disgusts me how so many celebrities, at a young age, have drugs pushed on them (especially while touring), but then it's the individual celebrity that's blamed and shamed when their addiction gets out of hand.
I am the same age as Beyoncé, a few months older so, I grew up watching her get with Jay and all the things they’ve been through. I was hoping Beyoncé would leave him when he was cheating early on before kids but, now, I feel like she’s trying to stay to show her children it’ll be different than what she grew up with. Thing is, kids can feel and tell when things are off no matter what you try and hide. Plus, I’ve always felt there was a weird dynamic to their relationship. I probably always will. 🤷🏻♀️

Lol finally a rational view of this. I agree, to me it looked like she was just bored at the basketball game and daydreaming or singing in her head and swaying to the tune. I do the same. I personally think Beyoncé was not groomed at all. I think she used him as much as he used her. She wanted that fame and success that she’s been working for since she was a girl and she knew he was a well connected guy she could very well use to her benefit. I also agree he used her as well but yeah. She preaches self love and respect and throwing men out when they cheat but doesn’t commit to what she preaches. And I get children are involved so that could be a factor, but let’s be real, she stayed because she doesn’t want a young woman swooping in taking that money.
