There is a hell is one of my favorite albums ever. I absolutely love it. It all started with me just hearing a snippet of crucify me on a compilation video. Absolutely love that album.

Sure, it’s not technically the start of that “catchy post hardcore/metalcore” genre that BMTH had with There Is A Hell and Sempiternal.

Diamonds aren't forever is metalcore. Not deathcore. Count your blessings also isn't deathcore. It's just a metalcore written in more dark scale and in drop B which is an absolute key to evil sound

I've always considered "There is a Hell..." to be a landmark metalcore album. It just slaps from the first second until the last. Even though I'm not a fan of That's the Spirit I love Sempiternal and their newer stuff is pretty good.

I'm honestly surprised he's never even mentioned Suicide Season, considering that's the album that basically spawned this "era" of their sound, and also their best album of that style (in my opinion)

In my honest opinion, TIAH is BMTHs best album. Hate me if you want but hey this shit hits HARD.
I believe it's their most mature sound design; also, the songs' structures are more complex and beautifully written; lyrics are also very very inspiring (especially Crucify Me). But the drums are poorly mixed. The Sempiternal mix is way better
That album felt like an experience, catchy as hell, full of emotional and really raw. Been listening to them since There is a hell!
I actually started listening to them with Thats the Spirit! Definately different to the earlier stuff but I enjoy and like all eras of their music! Ok maybe Go to is an exeption...

Seraphina Vasiliev you’re thinking of Skillet, Skrillex is the bloke who was mad popular in the early- mid 2000s with songs like Bangarang. He was also in a post-hardcore band From First To Last before his solo Electronic career.
TIAH was actually the last album of theirs I listened to in full (i believe i listened to it sometime before amo dropped in 2018) but I think it's their best album, it combines the craziness of Suicide Season with the melody of Sempiternal, and even though I don't think all of their best songs come from TIAH, the sound and energy of that album just feels so authentic
I was always on the fence about BMTH but sempiternal got listening to them more and I became a fan. one of my favourite bands right now
If that song seemed like a more "positive" kind of vibe (using Alex's words), they need to listen to the rest of the album. Emotions rollercoaster, its insane.

Suicide Season will always be their best album for me, it's just so goddamn heavy and uncompromising, but also groovy and catchy as fuck. Definitely had a major role in shaping my metal tastes and still sounds fresh even 12 years later

On a podcast with Jordan Fish, he said he’s usually the one trying to push the band to play songs off There Is A Hell but apparently their drummer Matt is the one that doesn’t want to and it’s a big argument because he “doesn’t play drums like that anymore”

Couldn't agree more on the growth aspect. Back in my high school days, I'm gonna be straight with you, I couldn't stand these guys. Just wasn't for me. Loved the scene, it was just them specifically along with some others. Then I grow up, Sempiternal roles around....OMFG!!!!! Hands down one of my favorite albums ever. That was the bridge I needed to begin to love everything from Rawr! to Parasite Eve. Find a comfortable starting point and I promise you will learn to love every song in their catalog. BMTH🤘

There is a hell is probably my favourite overall album. I can listen to it and almost get consumed by the almost symphonic music. There is so much power and emotions in the lyrics and vocals, it makes me fade out of my everyday life. I love bmth (and ofc you also nic😘)
