I don’t recall details, but in one story we have our protagonist, his friends, and a Jinn.
The Jinn tells our protagonist that he and all his friends are doomed to a terrible fate. The Jinn offers 3 wishes with the rule that one of the protagonist’s wishes cannot be to save himself from his terrible fate.
Our protagonist’s first wish is to save himself from his terrible fate. The Jinn says he has wasted his first wish. The second wish is to save his friends, the Jinn can grant this. The third wish is to save himself from his terrible fate. At first the Jinn is confused, but the protagonist explains that the Jinn said “one” of his wishes can’t be to save himself, and this was two wishes to save himself.
Because the Jinn is bound to his word he has no choice but to release our protagonist on this technicality.

As in Islam, the idea of spiritual entities converting to one's own religion can be found in Buddhism. According to lore Buddha preached to Devas and Asura, spiritual entities who, like humans, are subject to the cycle of life, and resemble the Islamic notion of Jinn, who are also ontological placed among humans in regard to eschatological destiny.

One of my favourite details about the djinn s that they're morally equivalent to humans in every way.
Any given individual could be benefolent or malignant, trustworthy or deceptive, faithless or a devoted member of the faith. And jusf like a human, they could and would change.
And so, the roles they fill in stories can be just as varied as our own, in ways not as often seen in folklore.

Oh and at 7:00 at first the Sultan was willing to pay a huge amount for the fish but his wife disapproved and came up with an idea to not pay the fisherman,
The sultan asked him what is the gender of the fish?
(If he mentioned either gender the Sultan could refuse him stating some reason for not being able to eat it)
The fisherman after thinking a lot replied that the fish was a eunuch.

After that a coin slipped from the fishermans pouch and he scrambled for it like crazy, the Sultan then got angry saying after all I gave you you're still scrambling for a single coin?
The fisherman replied that to him this wasn't just a coin but a precious token of the Sultan's generosity he couldn't afford to lose even one bit of it. The Sultan and doubly impressed.

    Correction on the islamic part:
They are more adjacent to angels than humans as they do infact have supernatural abilities like moving at lightspeed without breaking a sweat and all kinds of other shenanigans. They also exist in the same realm as angles which in islamic terms means they live in a higher dimension kinda like hopping from the third to the fourth dimension from our perspective.
The only comprehensible differences between Angles and Jinn are that they have a different composition than angles and they possess free will like us while angles physically can't disobey the will of god nor do they have it in them.
So yea Jinn aren't necessarily evil nor are they necessarily good and they aren't some kind of tricksters. They're just like us in that regard.
So basically they're us but extradimensional and with superpowers. They're not even more intelligent than us and they lack any and all creativity.
Matter of fact the whole conflict between Satan and God happened because when God created Adam, he ordered all of existence to kneel before Adam suggesting he's the new king in town or something and Satan (The leader of angles back then) got pissed because he felt like humans are beneath him since they can't do 10% of whatever his powers grant him. Also he took one look at Adam and Eve and told god these guys are undisciplined, suggestive and easy to manipulate and therefor trash. Hence the stunt with the forbidden fruit 😂

In my homeland like Indonesia, we believe that a mountain and forest is inhabited by djinn long before presence of human.
There's a local story about a villager goes to the mountain for hunting. One day he encoutered Djinn, saying "There's a 3 bodies lying nearby, find them", then the Djinn dissapeared. Confused, the villager told the influencial person in his village, and the next day some villager goes into the mountain to find the bodies. And indeed they found only 2 bodies (All of their identities were unknown, and only skeleton remains, suggesting they died long time ago), the other body was not found.
Regardless, they burying the death in Islamic way as all of the villager is muslim. The Djinn himself might wanted to gave the poor death humans a final respect, but he cannot since just making himself visible in human world is very exshausting, let alone burying the death. So the best thing he could done was asking human for it.

1st. humans are the most intellectual beings even if the Djinns have extra ordinary powers they are still not intelligent as compared to humans.
In the words of Quran and Muslim scholars humans are Ashraf -ul- Makhlooq meaning the most intelligent beings as compared to other creatures.
2nd is that the Djinns have their limitations and cannot create wealth or matter out of thin air but can provide the info to earn it.

5:20 jinn arent immortal they just live really really long on average 600-800 years but some live at 1500 or 2000 years. They are also not omnipotent but some of them like the ifreet are very powerful their powers vary depending on the jinn.

Same as humans. If they do good they go to jannah and if they do bad they go to hell. The Quran was made for both humans and jinn and unless a specific part is specified to be only for jinn or only for humans its the same for both.

Assalamu alaikum everyone, An Arab Muslim here.
Jinn are sort of creatures that has more powers or abilities than us, they can see humans, and they and us are the 2 testable or questionable creatures cause we and them are the only 2 of Allah's creation having free will.
Unlike most people think jinn aren't necessarily more powerful than us. They can be rid of by a simple "zikr" mentioning of Allah or praying to Allah
Also several stories for the Sahaba "companions of the messanger peace be upon all of them" that the catch or beat a jinn. So they aren't all that powerful. But they have superior abilities to us

In the version of 1001 Nights that I read when I was younger, a jinni shows up in the framestory to be cuckolded by his human lover/wife(?). This becoming one of the examples of unfaithful women that led to the king's distrust of women and decision to execute each of his wives after the wedding night. (Eventhough the king and his brother had themselves slept with the unfaithful woman while the jinni was away.) (Previously the king had first discovered his own wife to be unfaithful, and then visiting his brother to handle the grief, he witnessed his sister-in-law being unfaithful to his brother.) Were it not for the cleverness of Scheherazade, and her ability to remember so many stories within stories that you just had to know the ending of, the kingdom would have completely run out of women and created a demographic crisis like no other.

Solaiman or Solomon is one of the prophets of Islam and he took the throne after his father Dawood or David died. From the miracles that Allah (god) gave him was the knowledge of the animals, birds, insects and jinns languages as he had big army of all these creatures beside humans. In Islamic religion he died leaning on his stick no one knew he died even the jinn themselves until a termite ate the base of his stick and he fell on the ground. Another fact : he married the queen of Sabaa(a place in yemen) after convencing her about Islam and she accepted it as he showed her a miracle that her throne was in his kingdom in less than one second (in less than a blink) after he ordered one of the strongest jinn whom was a muslim too and has more faith between his all jinn pals to get her thrown this jinn showed up and told Solomon that he can get him her throne in less than a blink
