Showing my "ys.granular" Pure Data (Pd) patch, talking through the different features and how it all works. Patch available for download here: github.com/yannseznec/ys.gran...
hello! yes of course, it is pretty straightforward to map any of the parameters to a midi controller. use the [ctlin] object for CC or the [notein] object for notes, and then send the values to whatever parameter you want using the technique shown in the help file.
ha yes! please do it! I've been doing some experiments with getting this patch running on a Seed...there are a lot of hurdles to jump over, but if you'd like to get the latest version you can check out this repo: github.com/yannseznec/daisyGranular if I remember right, I think I got as far as getting it loaded and launching on a Seed, but not necessarily running well or responding correctly! I had to put it aside for the time being but I'm planning on getting back to it at some point. I'd love to see a eurorack version! I haven't built any real eurorack stuff yet but that's also on my list of future projects...
@@amazingrolo thank you so much for this reply. This is encouraging and I’ll certainly take a look at your repo. I’m half way through building a Befaco Lich which essentially allows one to upload Pd patches to eurorack hardware - I’m only a few days into learning Pd but I’m hooked. If I make any progress I’ll be sure to share ❤️
@@draconianrhythms oh, interesting, I had not seen the Befaco Lich. I might get one for myself and give it a try! I have already built a Bela Pepper but I have not yet tried it out, that's on my to-do list as well...I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up making!
Hey, any tip on how to load it up in pd vanilla??? when I open up the _main.pd I get lots of errors no such object. I am a total noob in pd and just installed the vanilla 0.53. do I need some additional libraries or something...
Hello! The whole patch is made in Pd Vanilla, so you don't need to install any libraries or anything to get started. I'm not sure what could be going wrong for you...maybe you didn't download all the patches? There are five patches in total to download, (y_grain_stereo.pd, _main.pd, etc). You need to have all of them for the patch to run, because the main patch references the smaller ones. If you still have trouble let me know!
@@amazingrolo Yes, I downloaded all 5 patches. Do they have to be iin a specific folder or do they have to run all at once before I start the main patch??? Thanks for the quick reply!!!
Thank you, Yann. PD is a dream for me..

hey yann, thank you for showing this patch. i wonder, would it also be able to map with a midi controller? thanks

Hi @yann is it okay to use this in our own projects to produce music? Like for producing music for soundcloud or spotify
of course! I'd love to hear it if you do :)
Absolutely awesome! Would it be ok to try to load this onto a Daisy Seed, and make a Eurorack module with this inside?

@@amazingrolo it’s a pity you can’t visualise patches in GitHub 😅

@@adew-yv4ib it should work if all the patches are in the same folder and you just launch "main.pd"
@@amazingrolo got it working now, I somehow downloaded the patches wrong. thanks for your help
