- Everyone has been posting reviews of so many great new slot cars! Which makes me want to go out and buy a bunch of new cars, but I am new to the hobby and just can't invest that sort of money right now. I made a list of cars I would really want to own right now.

Marty you can get a Tek-slots box to run analog and digital as well. My favorite would be the NSR 917K Gulf Car.
Is that an easy fix to run analog on a carrera digital track? Its easy to have 115 bucks in one car after chipping it/tires/good guide.
@@bradsanders6954 from my experience yes. I use the box to tune analog cars and scratch built ones. The beauty of it is it gives you a choice to chip or not to chip and it does save you money if you just do not want the digital feature. Look at my channels and watch some of the video about what I do. If you have anymore questions just ask me on my channel.

The Tek-slots boxes have been impossible to get as of late.. maybe some one will post a DIY version and I will attempt to make my own.. 😂

Hey Marty, just started collecting 1/32. I've always had an obsession with classic LeMans cars so I went with NSR Martini Porsche 917K, Slot-it Gt40 in Gulf livery, Fly Lola T70 MK3 (I know it's going to be work) and a Scalextric Ferrari 330p4. No track but hopefully soon.
Larry, those are all great choices. The Fly cars are beautiful.. and with some tuning.. fun cars to drive.
Those are all amazing choices! I have most of those in various livery’s and all are amazing in their own way. Thunderslot cars are what got me into magless racing as they perform amazingly well right out of the box with even no weight added. Enjoy and thx for the videos! Cheers!

Picked up a NSR 917k last year in Spain. Was a factory reject because of a slight paint fault. I Couldn’t tell!! Looks & ribs great. Keep up your content.

Hey Marty. Whatever camera you are using, it's phenomenal. Noticeably better quality than other channels.
I changed my setup from my iPhone to my Sony A6400 with a sigma 16mm 1.4 lens. It really is a great vlog setup for sure. Thanks!

@@bradsanders6954 😂 it’s a dangerous hobby. Well it can become dangerous. I just kept buying anything I liked before and it gave me stuff to review for the channel. TRYING to cut back now which is why I’m thinking of other avenues for content other than just car reviews.

Dang. It might be worth having a switchable power source, a way to make the carrera digital track run analog..........So many cool cars that would need a 42.00 chip........
It will be cheaper to by a Carrera analog track and swap out power units.

Great choices. The only one I would differ with you on is the Shadow. It is a way away and so let's see what it looks like first. In the meantime the Slot.IT Ferrari 512M tops my list. I think you will find there is a new silver and red IMSA liveried Corvette C8R just being released from Carrera and so you could think about making this version your own?
Great content! The Lola T-70 is very swoopy and was ubiquitous in 1960s-70s sports car racing.
Ferraris also look cool in NART blue and Daytonas don't look good in all the other schemes that they ran in. And the 512S ciupe was much under-appreciated
Porsche ran the 908 spyders in hill-climbs and othe tracks where the power and top speed of the 917 coupe were overkill.
My wondercar? The Porsche 917/30 spyder panzer -- most powerful racecar ever fielded. Wild card? Chaparral 2J suction car with NO wing.

Nice video! Get that Thunderslot Lola. You'll love it. I got the two 917K Gulf Porsches and they're not only beautiful, but extremely good runners. Love the Classic cars!

The Porsche is gorgeous! The Mclaren 720 is also bad ass! Electric Dreams has these on display and some of the guys that hang out there have the 720’s flying around the track.
I can’t wait to order my next car!

I ended up with a Tek slot box!
My favorite car...........I had a Cheetah in HO scale as a kid..........I ordered a new old stock Carrera Cheetah from Germany as soon as I got my carrera track...........the chip died on it, they sent me another one, the chip died on that one..........So I'm swapping in new chips and will have 2 Cheetahs in chrome/polished aluminum finish.........................................but, the new Carrera Ferrari 488 in tri color is really a cool looking car..................everyone who sees it goes wow nice nice car......................The Cheetah even though its a really short small car, can go really fast with it's Ortmann tires on back.........Cheetahs were small in real life so the 1/32 Cheetah is a little car.

@martyford. I really appreciated your video. Great Vlog fun to watch. You’re very enthusiastic about slot cars as am I. A lot of the cars you have mentioned, I have learned are fully adjustable and are what one might consider model race cars. I personally feel the Scalextric and Carrera cars offer some level of Model Race Cars but most of their lines are less model more modern fun hobby race cars. I have heard the NSR cars the Oterro (I think it’s oterro) and for sure the Revo Slot cars run better on wooden tracks with routed copper braided slots. I haven’t yet raced on a wooden track. I run on Carrera analog track. The scalextric rubberized track works well with the scalextric cars. I believe the rubberized track warms up and grips the silicon scalextric tires really well. The harder and more durable Carrera track is great but not when it’s cold it needs to be slightly warmer. If you get a chance try out a Le Mans Miniature 917 Porsche on a wooden track. I think it’s a hugely different experience. Any way thanks for letting me fill your comments section. Your videos are great.
Tree hanks for the kind words James! I have not ran on a wooden track, but hope to soon. I am a fan of NSR, Revoslot, SlotIt, Sideways, and Thunderslot. I think Carrera cars have great detail for the price point and are tough as nails though they are less adjustable. The hobby is so much fun! I really enjoy the community as well!
The NSR double fin Porsche 908/3's are awesome looking cars, and if set up properly, extremely quick. I have one in the Lufthansa Airlines (No 41) livery.

Seriously.. the shot of the 908/3… should be a poster hanging at my track. I have Sony A6400, Sigma 16mm 1.4 and I love the look it gives me. I have been recording with my iPhone because it is just so much easier to edit and upload. But this video is a level up.. thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.
I have too many cars now, including 6 Ford gt's, and I'm looking to include the Scalextric c5835, love the red white blue pattern, and read that it is fast and smooth.

Great mic Marty..wow! Where are you located btw? I had to laugh at your "you had me a baked ziti" comment on the last thread, my g/f also got a kick out of it -lol. And ANYthing GULF livery is awesome, I don't care WHAT it is... I might even wrap my 1:1 Miata that way some day.
In my other life I have a band and have some gear. 😂 it is the nicest mic I own so I might as well use it for my podcast. Yes, you could put a Gulf Livery on my 71 Volkswagen Convertible and I swear it would jump to 50HP from 35HP 😂
I also agree. We built a brand new Kenworth truck in Gulf colors and that’s my favorite one we’ve done in my 22 years!!

@@twolinesslotcars 35 to 50... absolutely, lol! We had a '66 Bus in the family for a looong time, sadly totaled by the mailman... My Grandfather literally used to rock his shoulders forward while driving-- I swear it was to make it go faster. LOL
So I got the 917 gulf livery no. 9 chipped it and now I need to get a variable power supply. All I have is a stock Carrera 124 transformer

That car is sweet!! You have to much track power for it? You can buy a variable power supply for around $70.
I need to chill out on getting cars and working on scenery but I also have to stop saying that because I keep buying cars. 😆

Where did you get your poster of the CRA
I downloaded the image of the 2022 Carrera Catalog and printed on my poster printer. It is a little pixilated, but in my background it doesn’t really matter.
That being said… it would be a great to find a high res image and reprint it 😊 because it is a sweet shot!
