    It is so enlightening to hear you refer correctly to railways and rail sleepers.

    • @railwaymechanicalengineer4587
      @railwaymechanicalengineer4587 Před 4 měsíci

      "Sleepers" being the British technical railway term for such things. Whereas in the U.S. they tend to avoid "Engineering terminology" and used crude descriptive words such as "Tie" because a sleeper "Ties" the rails together !!!

    Enough with the metrics

      I AGREE 100% WITH YA ! THE GLOBALIST CAN KEEP THE METRIC SYSTEM !!

    • @railwaymechanicalengineer4587

      Like it or not "metrics" is a result of letting a French Bishop introduce the ancient Egyptian measurement, renamed by the French as a "Metre" in the Middle Ages. Which is a "Base 10" or "Decimal" system like most currencies. "Feet & inches" is a "Base 12" system, so mentally more complex !!

      @@railwaymechanicalengineer4587 I still think that metrics is pushed by the Globalist! The Globalists are done now ! Thank God !!

      That ship sailed long ago. It’s used by most of the world - only the USA, Myanmar, and some small island nation use anything else. If you think the world’s going to change back for you, I have several bridges to sell you. 🙄🙄🙄

    LIVING IN THE STONE AGE ???
    Ugh you've only just discovered modern Railway plant machinery ? British Railways had equipment like this back in the NINETEEN SIXTIES (1960's). Obviously you Americans have no knowledge of the World Famous manufacturer of such machinery, based in Austria called PLASSER & THEURER. Who have over 3000 Patents relating to various types of track maintenance & relaying equipment. This company dates back to 1953, and set up its London subsiduary "Plasser UK Ltd" on 14th March 1960.
    Indeed as a Railway Engineering Student I was getting my "practical" experience on British Railways overnight track possessions, operating many types of complex track laying & testing machinery from 1973, most of which had to be computer aided to get precision alignments to within ONE MILLIMETRE.
    Your obviously NOT a "Permanent Way" Railway Engineer, as a number of your descriptions clearly do not understand what is being done & WHY. For example the "Rail Grinding machine" at 6:19 is necessary to maintain the shape of the railhead at a precise angle to match the angle on every trains wheel treads. If the two angles (Rail & wheels) do NOT match precisely you will start experiencing "Hunting" of vehicles at speeds over around 40mph, which frightens passengers, and can damage fragile or sensitive Goods. In a "worse case scenario" it can lead to train derailments !!!

      Railroads are profit driven. Think: They reduced operation crews from 6 people down to two, soon to be none at all as remote control trains are operated. Remember that in the 1880's, congress had to pass laws to get railroads to use the Buckeye coupler and air brakes. It was cheaper to send employees to heaven than to add the equipment.
      When railroads in the US do or don't do something, the reason is usually "Money".
