I'm 54 years old and I remember singing this song in school. We sang it in music class. I was in 4th grade and I went to a predominantly Hispanic school so it was what we sang to introduce us to Spanish as well as introduce the Hispanic kids to English. Wow, that was over 40 years ago.
Im from Sri Lanka and in our school syllabus this song was included. We sang the song for the melody our teacher taught us , never heard it before though. Today Im a free bird with lot of potentials infront of me , I think I unintentionally took this lyrics serious. 😅😅
My dad was stationed in Germany '74 to '77 and my mom loved this song, she passed away this past February so yeah I'm listening to this song. She use to play it all the time.
