@@aliciaseecharan Lobster is expensive but at the smaller places, they base price on daily catch. In Warwick, RI at Tommy's Clam Shack (best seafood in the state IMO) it changes daily and is usually under $20. Newport is a tourist spot with high-end restaurants. Costs more for the ambiance.

Grew up in CT, spent almost every weekend from early so spring to late fall on the shore (my parents had a boat), and a REAL lobster roll is just (freshly prepared) lobster, lots of melted butter, I n a nice soft white hotdog style roll. (The lobster salad rolk-lobster, mayo,celery, isn't bad of
course, but it's NOT a 'lobster roll'. Happy new year to all of you!

🦞This episode is awesome! I did a lobster roll crawl from Boston to Provincetown, Cape Cod. Pubs to seafood shacks to proper restaurants...even Logan International before departure. I like both styles certainly but Connecticut is definitely my preference.

DUUDEEE!! Shrimps were considered sea trash in Egypt back till the 80s. They were given as like change when you buy fish. And given generously. Now INCREDIBLY expensive.

This was fun to watch! I live in Texas fairly close to the Gulf of Mexico, but lobster rolls are not easy to find! Crawfish in season, cooked and seasoned properly, are a big deal here. Seeing all the lobster rolls made me want to go to Newport and try some there!

My mom is a huge fan of lobster rolls and we are from RI, I honestly think the best ones are outside of newport at matunuck oyster house and the shanty in warwick! Newport always over charges and isn't consistent. Anyways love the content!

Lobster is one of my favorite food to eat , I go to Newport often because I live most of my life in Rhode Island, and eaten at All these Restaurants at one time in sixty years.
I also worked in Newport for MANY YEARS, and was in the NAVY for 9 years around the world.

Welcome to New England!!! Wish I could meet you, but I live in Mass.
On one of your trips going between NYC and Newport take a turn up 395 in CT and stop at Hanks Dairy Bar in Plainfield, it’s only open in the summer but they do a delicious basic lobster roll (maine style) which pairs great with a milkshake and fries. It’s cash only and you eat at a picnic table or in your car but if you go on a Thursday they do a special on lobster rolls, also they do car shows as well. It’s a hidden gem, after you can cut through Griswold to go into Hopkinton and take 138 towards Newport.
Julia you NEED to try the lobster rolls from the Newport Naval Base exchange BP... its literally the most random place but my favorite lobster roll from newport and 2 for $13

I'm from Atlantic Canada, I've had my share of lobster rolls. Some of these look so delicious.
As for 40 pound lobsters, I wouldn't eat a lobster that big. When lobsters get that big the meat gets tough. Usually you want a lobster around 2-4 pounds.

I’m an NH native now in RI and personally I prefer lobster rolls without any Mayo, just fresh lobster with lemon and a hot buttered roll. That’s just me...loved this Julia! Wish I had seen you.
