    I really hope you find this video helpful and successfully repair your car.
    I believe fuel pump modules are all the same for Toyota Corollas 2003 -2019

    I have an ‘04 Corolla with about 600,000 miles on it (the odometer maxed out at 299,999 nine years ago) and it has never had an problems. Welp just the other day it started to have a problem for the first time. Turns out it’s the fuel pump starting to go out. This video was extremely helpful. Was able to do it myself and my only expense was the pump itself and a pair of rubber gloves.

    Hi, I've watched a few of these but yours is the closest setup to mine so far. I'm down here in NZ and my 2002 9th gen (introduced to N.America in '03) has 2 fuel lines and the white connector, not the $200 pressure sensor. Also have those 8mm phillips head hex bolts instead of the plastic screw-on retaining ring seen in most other videos. I only went out to check after viewing this, saved me buying a strap wrench I thought I'd need. Many others are replacing the entire assembly but I just want to swap out my strainer sock and main filter as a bit of maintenance so your video covering the disassembly will be very helpful this weekend. Much appreciated.

    Do not want to be called a hater for correcting you here but @ 1:56 those tabs you show with the screwdriver another video shows clearly not to pull them outward but squeeze them then slide the hose back, this here is misleading and if I am wrong show us a video would be interesting to watch how you do it. I struggled with it and could not disconnect that hose no matter how many times I tried, squeezing, pulling, screw driver into the tabs as you indicate; nothing! Other than that this is a great tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to do it.

      @@tronixsterOh you are very welcome, hope this can help other out there because those tabs are the worst part of this pump job; mine gave me the hardest time ever to come out; as I mentioned; I ended up snapping the round plastic tab on top of the pump where it connects to; and those tabs are sort of destroyed, don't know if they will catch the pump again and seal which is important as that is the gas return line. The ordeal was I ordered another pump from ebay for $65.00 which came the same way and was lucky the merchant refunded it, and told me to just keep it after confirming it was the part he sent, so I had no choice but to buy that upper part from the dealer to a whooping $80.!!! ...all this because of those tabs; the idea is so moronic and so cheaply made even a mechanic at the dealer told me they get to break them too from time to time; that hose at the dealer with that connector is $58.00!! it connects to the charcoal canister on the side of the tank and it is not easy to replace without a lift; I am still working in the car engine and replacing other components no less difficult like the clutch master cylinder, another PITA job that involved taking the whole dashboard out to get access to the bolts for it that are buried in a metal enclosure impossible to get to from just under the dashboard, again, a simple modular panel from mid dash down that would give access to all that section would have made life easier even for a trained mechanic but seems all the moronic engineers got together to design this 2004 Corolla, LOL

    • @Prepare2Survive
      @Prepare2Survive Před 2 lety

      Cars require more fuel to start when the engine is cold, but they require less fuel when the engine is warm. So your car is probably getting too much fuel when the engine is warm. That could be the result of leaking fuel injectors or a dirty mass airflow sensor. Try adding a good quality injector cleaner to the gas and clean out the mass airflow sensor with actual mass airflow sensor cleaner.
