Your channel started appearing in my feed recently for some incomprehensible reason. Not that I am not into philosophy. Omission for effect. Nevertheless I am pretty stoked about your work Julian and you do a great job of reducing these ideas without losing their essence. In the culmination of our cultural dysfunction the paradoxical rears its head and us losers get the opportunity of vindication in self-awareness. Victory never tasted this bland, but that might be my depression.

Horkheimer and Adorno first wrote about this in "Dialectic of Enlightenment" (Dialektik der Aufklärung). As "Naturbeherrschung" and "Naturverfallenheit". I understand it as the concept of desublimation and sublimation. Domination of nature as like domination of thought, experienced as freedom and betrayal of the masses. (Sorry, I didn't read the Englisch translation, just some short thoughts)
There was no 'psychoanalysis' before Freud, who invented the word.

@@jok1957im using zizeks interpretation mostly. but Jesus leaves and says, "where two or three are gathered, there i am," "im with you, even to the end of the age," "they will know you are my disciples because of the love you have for each other."
these all signify a completeness that is independent of the law-giver. So Jesus is gone, but he's no longer needed because the disciples are well-equipped.
following, Paul writes that we are no longer under the law, but that we are now under the doctrine of grace. the Torah is put away by the Cross.
all projects are a matter of progress. the new testamemt is moves beyond-- and even forsakes-- the old testament. the project of religion and mythology is complete in Christ's death and life, and I think perhaps the project of Christianity is complete in the secularization of society. Christianity is the true religion because when it has accomplished its mission, it "withers away" so to speak.
Any project that doesn't do that ends up only existing for its own sake, which is where ideology, tradition, and dogmatism come from.

He also suggests society was or is liberal. And it never was. Even if you describe is as a 'liberal democracy' we still find this description lacking.
