This was really helpful. It turns my selection on its ear. I look for really well done pictures instead of making my pictures into really good paintings! Who knew? Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
So much wonderful, valuable information Matthew, thank you so much!!. ♥️
You are so welcome!
Thank you! I’ve been stuck starting my next painting . This was what I needed to help choose the right subject.
Thank you for the video. When you reference the horizon line is that the line which for example sky meets the water or Mountatin reach the flat of the land. I typically refer to the horizon line as the line my eyes are focused with everything below that being looked down on and everything above that looked up to so to speak. So the 2 horizontal lines I will use for reference when sketching will be those 2 lines and typically third to mark a key feature in relation. I just do not know what to call those lines...lol.
What you talk in every vieo is so precious because it is the very basic and essential idea in my daily life. What I want to draw. Why I want to draw. How I want to draw. I have come to see more clearly what I am in mind. Thank you.
So glad to hear that!
I really liked the idea in the city street scene of moving the one woman to the other side of the street to improve the composition. I probably wouldn’t have thought of that. Now I’ll think even more about how to improve composition, even when taking my own reference photos.
That’s great!
Your teaching is so clear and always helpful. Thank you again!
