For about a year I've been using resolve as my primary editor. It really is very good. Maybe not as fully featured as premier quite yet when it comes to the nle portion though

Amazing crash course, thank you! Quick question for you: From studying a lot of other tutorials on correcting and grading LOG footage specifically, the recommendation seems to be to use a Color Space Transform to non destructively convert your LOG footage into Rec 709 first and then correct and grade from there but I noticed you didn't do that, you just went straight into the wheels and started building from there. To my understanding, the LOG to Rec 709 transform isn't just to regain saturation but also to correctly remap the values from a LOG space to a Rec 709 space so I was curious if you could elaborate a bit more on your choice to not do that step and go straight into building off the log footage if that makes sense!
I recently learned that camera manufacturers also make "log specific" LUTs to bring your footage back to a linear work space as well. In project settings under the color management tab is one place you can choose to apply it (under 1D, 3D, input, output, etc.). However, when clipping occurs you can't bring it back like you can in the color page by placing an adjustment node before it. My guess is that there are no LUTs necessary for this workflow (which is awesome) and if you're image starts to fall apart then see how it reacts to linear or try playing around with the log wheels. Best of luck!
