What do you think! Time for Adobe to add some of the Premiere Pro shiny new, AI powered, audio goodies to Adobe Audition too?
Love your stuff man, thanks for the new beta overview. What I'd really love to see them introduced is the ability to "unlock the timeline" if you will. Like if they added a hand tool, and you could freely move around the timeline with it, so rather than having to scroll to back and fourth, and hold control +scroll to move up and down, instead you use the hand toll to freely drag around in the timeline to move it up/down/side to side.
Your videos have been helping me a lot with my new job thanks so much!
*Awesome Mike!!* Can't wait for the final release. Good things are 'FINALLY' happening.
Thanks so much! I agree, the new Premiere Pro release is really exciting.
I've been waiting for transcription and text based editing in Audition for what feels like centuries now. PLEASE ADOBE!!!
This sounds great! I've seen too many how to do great audio videos, with terrible audio. Subbed looking forward to learning more!
Great video Mike! Premiere is certainly adding some great new features. Now, if only we can get motion tracking inside Premiere Pro someday! :) 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching! I agree, motion tracking would be an amazing addition to Premiere Pro more Gen AI!
Funny you should say this. I just learned how to use "Replace with After Effects Composition" from within Premiere Pro. It takes a selected clip from Premiere Pro (right click on a clip to find this feature) straight into After Effects to which you can then perform motion tracking. Once you have completed what you need to do in After Effects the changes are applied automatically to the clip in Premiere Pro. BTW this was using Premiere Pro 2023.
@@kylergeston For sure. The replace with After Effects Composition is the way I always have to do heavier compositing and motion tracking. It has always worked great for edits in Premiere Pro. I actually use that feature with titles more often as well, if I'm not using essential graphics on a title composite. I would just love to have full motion tracking inside Premiere Pro rather than going into After Effects all the time. I imagine also many users do not even use After Effects or have it on their system and stick with Premiere Pro only. Perhaps if Adobe even integrates a version of Premiere Pro and After Effects much like DaVinci and Fusion, whereas instead of calling up After Effects, just hit a tab.
Mike - I've come back to audio editing after a decade away (why?) - your videos have made my re-learning curve so easy and fast!
Thank you so much, I'm thrilled to hear that my videos have helped you get back into audio editing!
Perhaps it was on previous versions and I didn't realise but that music duration thing is nuts and will save a lot of time.
The idea of adding the Vocal Enhancer curve as a preset in Essential Sound is genius. 👍🏼
Great video Mike, super helpful! One slightly annoying thing is how Premiere processes the entire clip to reapply the audio effects every time you trim a clip. Is that just the nature of nondestructive editing, or is there a way around it?
Thanks for the positive feedback! The processing of audio effects in Premiere Pro during trimming is indeed an inherent part of nondestructive editing. You could potentially try to nest the clip and see if that works.
Man I wish I had beta access lucky people getting to try this early that's awesome.
Installing as we speak. Can't wait to tweak the audio on my many mis-matched clips!
I'm excited to hear that you're already installing the new Premiere Pro beta release! We need these features in the regular release ASAP!
@@MikeRussell Boy do I regret downloading the beta apps. It could be they're problem free, but I tried them out in the heat of a project and things went south.
Firstly, the audio tools are nothing short of magical. I was excited to try that out due to a bunch of clips with a wide range of different issues, and it seemed to work beautifully. However, the changes didn't seem to stick. Sequences that I'd already processes seemed not to have been adjusted. I say "seemed" because in the heat of the project I was not able to document or track closely.
I was moving between Premiere and AE, where I rotoscoped 8 minutes of footage. I started getting application crashes (infinite spin ball or outright crash & close). That has been my experience with these applications for a while, but since my last project I upgraded to an M3 MacBook Pro SPECIFICALLY to avoid Premiere and AE crashes. It's been better, but still very frustrating and deadline threatening.
I switched back to the release versions, which also crashed. In the rush to meet the deadline things got messy. Once I've archived files I might try the beta apps again, but for now they've been removed.
Mike, do you have any insights about Premiere crashing? As mentioned, I'm on apple's newest silicone and OS with the full CC suite. I'm an amateur working solo, which makes it all the more maddening. I know people use these apps for large jobs and so my experience cannot be the norm. Don't get me started about AfterEffect timeline previews & playback!
Hope it comes with better default mouse shortcuts last version really messed those up.
Thanks! But the color labels have been there for a long time, no?
Yes, you are correct! Colour labels have been a feature in Premiere Pro for quite some time now. They just changed up the look a bit.
Might be time to upgrade my laptop. This better be worth it!
Absolutely worth the upgrade! The new Premiere Pro release for 2024 Beta is epic.
Damn, I remember this fade feature from the early 2000s from Sony Vegas... It always felt like one of those features that divided the professional NLEs from the cheaper ones (like Vegas, Pinnacle, PowerDirector, Final Cut). A more mature NLE would've never had such a simple function... or so a lot of people felt... 😂 Right now I think this feature is MORE than welcome in Premiere.
Would love to see Adobe improve their video/audio synchronising over multiple tracks within Premiere Pro.
It’s still nowhere near the level of Pluraleyes.
did they improve the color grading in the beta as well? I'm look for a hdr toggle on and off similar to davinci resolve
Sony Vegas had the audio handle fades twenty years ago.
While Sony Vegas may have had audio handle fades earlier the new 2024 Beta Premiere Pro has this and more!
Thanks for this video. Don't you do VO also. I do and I think I recognize your voice. Anyway,..I have this BETA version and I can no longer adjust the opacity of an individual clip by dropping from the top of the clip and lowering to adjust...hopefully that makes sense. Do you know if that is still possible by chance? Thanks again.
Yes, I also do voiceover work! In the new 2024 Beta Premiere Pro release, adjusting opacity of individual clips can still be done by selecting the clip, going to the Effects Control panel, and adjusting the Opacity parameter. Hope that helps!
I know about going into the effects panel but on the non beta version all you have to do is grab the solid line at the top of the individual clip and slide it down to adjust the opacity. Much faster than going into the effects panel, unless you are going to key frame
HELLO, THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS, COULD YOU MAKE AN EQ AND COMPRESSION TUTORIAL FOR THE SHURE SM7B ONLY WITH ADOBE AUDITION PLUGINS PLEASE
Sure, I'd be happy to create an EQ and compression tutorial specifically for the Shure SM7B using Adobe Audition plugins! Stay tuned!
Mike - what does the new Mix audio track at the bottom do?
Hey there! The new "Mix audio track" is just a fancy way of describing the matter channel with all audio tracks combined.
Mike - OK thanks. I thought it might be a 'mixdown' track or something. @@MikeRussell
That 20dB high end boost in the EQ preset at 7:37 is going to cause some big problems in many circumstances
Thanks for your feedback! I completely agree, the high end boost should be used with caution and adjusted just as I did so in this video.
Did they remove the AI auto tagging? I just now got the beta version, but I don't see the little icons or color changes on mine.
These updates are so useful. Much much better from Adobe. At last.
I'm glad you find the updates useful! Adobe is always striving to improve their software and it's exciting to see how it's changing the way we edit videos.
My daughter was using capcut on desktop and I was noticing how intuitive and user friendly it is, so am please to see these updates on premiere pro. @@MikeRussell
I'm still waiting for audio waveform in the source monitor...
it would be better if they would add a greate auto audio sunchronise and also gjjd made pause detector
@@MikeRussell but you cant synch more than 3 tracks in the same time
I hope they kept the feature in the video section, where it just eats an existing track if you drag another one into it. I mean of cause they have, it's another department making this, so it will be updated in 2026 :D
Yes, the feature you mentioned is still available in the NEW 2024 Beta Premiere Pro release, so you don't have to wait until 2026 for an update! 😄
Hope Feature Adobe Update Adobe Release Like Color Node Interface For Batter Color Correction...Only One Feature are Missing..... We Need This Basic Color Node Feature
I was doing this in Vegas years ago, this is nothing new. But good vid. Of course Vegas is a 800 dollar program too. This isn't even a fraction of that.
Those new FX badges are killing my workflow: need the colors back.
This is beta, so hopefully feedback will be taken into account before general release.
Am I going crazy, haven't those label colours been there for the last 2 years?
Yes, you're right! The label colors have been around for the last 2 years, but this release introduces some exciting changes to how colours are used I believe.
BE-TA????? IT"S BAY-TA, BAY-TA!!!!! 🤪
Beta is a silicon valley term, coined in American English, so, that is how it should be pronounced. I wouldn't pronounce Piccadilly Circus, Pekadeli Cercos now would I?@Cuurydish
Overall your audio in this video is GREAT.. But your "esser" is too high and hurt my ear. I think you should decrease it a bit in "Deesser"..
I REFUSE TO CHANGE. 😂
That's totally okay! It's always good to stick with what works for you and your editing style. 😄
I don't think I have a favorite letter...
That's okay, editing with the new Premiere Pro release will make you fall in love with every letter of the alphabet!
Colors just like in Final Cut 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the new colour features in Premiere Pro's beta release.
STOP SHOWING BETA VERSIONS... sometimes they are released with the latest version sometimes they are NOT! show when it's out
Thanks! However, I like to keep you updated on the latest versions of Premiere Pro!
Maybe this update will finally get me some CZcams views...probably not lol
It doesn't change how I edit at all. Gave up on buggy premiere long before it became a way too expensive subscription.
And as long ss Adobe dare to ask that amount every month I won't even consider trying it for old time sake.
I am using resolve, free for almost everything, a one time $300 will buy you the studio license, with lifelong updates, but most wont ever need that. Even better if you buy a speed editor Keyboard for a little over $300 you get the studio license for free. Same goes for a lot of other black magic design hardware, they come with the license
I understand your concerns about the cost and reliability of Adobe Premiere Pro. It is getting better with each update.
@@MikeRussell reliability might get better, the cost is still prohibitive for many.
I wish Adobe would come out with a Speed Editor for Premiere Pro. I really don't understand why they don't. If I ever win the lotto this is what I am going to design for everyone.
So basically what you’re saying is you can be an idiot and get good audio… I guess that’s the trick.
Absolutely not! Good audio editing requires skill, knowledge, and practice.
here are some suggestions for your next video. you drag thing long. for ex. current video from 230 to 400 mints. you are keep talking and we are expecting to see one sample of what you about. really irritating
It's interesting, one of the things I miss from my first NLE (like 17 years ago, Vegas) was the fades, it's funny how adobe took like 20 years to add something "similar", still the Vegas from 20 years ago have a better solution for fades, but it's something.
I completely understand. Thank you!
Yes, I never did understand this. Years ago I used Vegas specifically because I had so many audio layers that I needed to edit in a project I was working on.
Vegas started out as a music editing software that added video later.
Former Vegas user and same!
