I love your videos!! Thanks so much for explaining things so concisely and keeping it simple. Production is so overwhelming getting started and you keep reminding me to not get too ahead of myself with all of the tools that are out there 🙏💚
Yeah of course! I'm really happy these videos are helping. Music production is definitely overwhelming, it's a normal feeling. Having fun, even when you're stumbling and making mistakes, is probably the best advice I can give.
@@ThisIsOnesto thanks so much! I've recently passed over the initial hurdle of feeling completely defeated when opening the DAW and started having some fun, even though I know there's still so much to learn. :) good place to be.
@@ThisIsOnestoHonestly .. I’ve binged your relevant videos and they are all superb. Amazing job. I’m pro tools and S49 MK3. You’ve helped me a lot. Thanks.

Hi, love your stuff...excellent. PLEASE answer a question. I have an NI S88 Mk II. I don't like the problems with 3.1. Can I go back to 2.98? if so, how? If i go back will i miss anything?
Thanks for asking this question. It’s something I had to resolve a few months back. You can download KK 2.9.6 here. There’s a link near the end of the post that has installers. Hope this helps!: community.native-instruments.com/discussion/17363/komplete-kontrol-s-series-mk1-keyboards-end-of-life
I agree, Its so bad I had to uninstall then reinstall the old version. KK version 3 is unusable to me and slows down my work flow. Why make an update then remove all the features that made it special
I am very uncomfortable using Komplite Kontrol. I am even thinking of replacing my S88 MK2 with an S88 MK3 so that I can work directly with Kontakt without Komplete Kontrol. Have you tried working directly?
Working with Kontakt 7 integrated into the MK3 works great. It's pretty much exactly what it needs to be. I'm still surprised this integration took so long to implement.
Hey, when I upgraded to the new software, old project presets are not loading when I open up my older beats, so alot of my beats are are now incomplete because plugins need to be loaded manualy , but I don’t even remember the preset sounds I chose
This is why you stem everything out.. I do this after every track I finish... make that apart of your workflow.. buy a cheap external HD and store everything on there
@@triplebeam23 I know what you mean, but that’s not a solution that’s being on a safe side.. Let’s say I wanna go to my old project and fix couple notes on the midi, if its a stem u cant mod it or change sounds,ur stuck with that … A upgrade shouldnt ruin your saved presets.. Thats a flaw But i just downgraded to old player and it works for now lol kinda sucks but it is what it is
Your videos are underrated. Always dope and helpful. How is the key bed on the new s49 mk3? Is it stiff and loud? You mentioned, it working with third party plugins that are NKI also, but i have oriental arabic libraries that have quarter note maqam/scale feature. im wondering if those will show in the screen where i can select from the keyboard instead of within kontakt. Oriental versions of korg pa5x and yamah a5000 workstations have the feature. Either within the touch screen or buttons, depending on how old the keyboard is. Its basically transposes keys -55 so instead of you manually pitch bending it it does it automatically to the key n scale you set it to.
Thanks for watching and for those kind words. I like the keybed on the S49 MK3. It's a little bit of an improvement from the MK2. When it comes to stiffness and loudness. They seem quieter than the MK2s. Of course, it depends on how hard and busy you're playing. And I think I know what you're talking with stiffness. They don't feel stiff to me. They feel as good as you can get for not having hammer action keys. Overall, I'm really happy with the feel of the keyboard. I don't have experience with the sample libraries you mentioned, so I unfortunately can't be of help to you there. I'm assuming that if they worked with the Mk2, they'll work with the MK3? Wish I could be more helpful!
nicee, thank you. and they work with kontakt 6 and 7 but i was just trying to figure out if the features show on the screen of the keyboard screen instead of just in kontakt where i have to use a mouse.@@ThisIsOnesto
@@ottomanbeatsofficial Ah I see. I’m gonna guess and say that the most essential controls will show up on the keyboard screen for the libraries you mentioned. Those controls are mostly dependent on the plugin maker, and so far in my experience, if they have an NKS logo on their product page, it means that they took the time to program the knobs well. It’s only for non-NKS plugins where the controls are random. Hope that helps.
Sorry about that. Explaining Arp Mode opens up a lot more to talk about. I really wanted to keep this video brief so I choose not to explain it. thanks for the great explanation. It is still bit confusing for me. On NI website they say that Komplete Kontrol can be used with any midi keyboard. What you say is that it needs an NI keyboard. But is it technically possible to set it up with Arturia Keylab Essentials keyboard ? (As that is the one I am planning to get and I will be getting the Komplete 14 standard, do you think this is a good combination? )
Found my answer here - czcams.com/video/Zu2eQrkwrMI/video.htmlsi=4xjfJBulrpByZNg9&t=4603 It is possible to use a different midi controller for komplete kontrol.
@@dexterous7516 Glad you found an answer to your question. I'm actually going to try out the New Arturia Essential 88 MK3, so your video link is perfect for me. Thanks!
@@ThisIsOnesto Great, Can you please please make a video about how is the experience of navigating and working in komplete kontrol with Arturia Essential ? I searched a lot for it but couldn't find anything. What I am guessing is that you would need to browse using mouse/laptop but when an instrument is selected the macros can be mapped. Please see if it is possible for you. You have great content btw, thanks for all your work!
NI is just going downhill unfortunately. They have made a habit of loosing track of their competition, their consumers (the ones who aren't constant yes men), and themselves. Maschine 2 is the biggest flaw of the company and the more time passes with them not sucking it up and fixing their own mistakes, the more it serves as a reminder of who they are. Maschine 2 is half of a DAW, and without maschine or KK, these keyboards are half of what they should/could be.
