This movie is still so relevant.
The Duke Bros follow up cameo in Coming to America is legendary.
One of my favorite 80's comedies. And my mom was an extra in the Christmas office party scene later in the film!
You should really really see "My Girl" also starring Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis, that is such a great beautiful movie, You will fall in love with Veda and Thomas Jay. It's an emotional rollercoaster!
I think you would really enjoy "Brewster's Millions". Sort of a similar movie but with Richard Pryor.
“Don’t loan money you can’t afford to lose” That’s wise counsel.
When someone asks to borrow money (within reason, of course), I usually will just give it to them. I’ve found doing that saves the hassle of having to chase them down for it & possibly getting into a big drama with friends/family about money. I figure if I can’t afford to give it, then I can’t afford to lend it either. An extra advantage is that it tends to make people more likely to loan you money if you’re in a pinch.
Plus the lesson we all learned From Sonny, in "A Bronx tale"=
Calogero:
He owes me 20 dollars. It's been two weeks now, and every time he sees me he keeps dodging me. He's becoming a real pain in the ass. Should I crack him one, or what?
Sonny:
Sometimes hurting somebody ain't the answer. First of all, is he a good friend of yours?
Calogero:
No, I don't even like him.
Sonny:
You don't even like him. There's your answer right there. Look at it this way: It costs you 20 dollars to get rid of him... He's out of your life for 20 dollars. You got off cheap. Forget him.
Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd are great in this movie! Jamie Lee Curtis is also a bonus! Looking forward to watching this movie again and for your reaction! I've got my reminder on!
Double bonus. 😜
My childhood right there. I can still remember many times my brother and i would watch this. Awesome!
Same with me and my younger brother 👌🏾
ByEddie Murphy had several movies way before Coming To America. While still on Saturday Night Live, which he left in 1984, his first movie was 48 HOURS in 1982, his second movie was TRADING PLACES in 1983, his also did his stand up comedy show DELIRIOUS in 1983, in 1984 he did BEST DEFENSE and BEVERLY HILLS COP, in 1985 he did a music album HOW COULD IT BE?, in 1986 he did THE GOLDEN CHILD, in 1987 he did BEVERLY HILLS COP 2 and stand up comedy film RAW, then did COMING TO AMERICA in 1988. In The Golden Child, the young Tibetan boy that Eddie Murphy saves actually played by a young girl.
You can see why Jamie Lee curtis’s nickname at this time was “The body”
Anyone on the planet that can’t appreciate her beauty/talent is off their rocker. I thought she was absolutely stunning and both boob exposures were 🔥 👌🏾
Fun fact…When Eddie Murphy is in prison one of his cellmates is Gus Fring from Breaking Bad. Cellmate #2.
The pawn broker was played by Blues/Rock and Roll legend Bo Diddley.
Sincerely Great Reaction. Loved it had a lot of fun. Eddie Murphy’s laugh is so contagious and Jamie Lee Curtis is great. Great movie to whoever requested it. 😀👍❤️✌️🌼
Glad you enjoyed it
The original WTC makes a cameo at 25:50. A good illustration of how massive those buildings were. Glad I had the opportunity to visit, 1988.
Another great 80s comedy i think you would love is CLUE, based on the boardgame.
I hadn't seen this movie in decades! This was a great movie to react to! Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd were the perfect match-up for this movie. Loved your reaction! Thank you!
I've always loved this movie. Really glad you watched it
If you want to watch more Eddy Murphy movies, Beverly Hills Cop is a must, there are three of them!
This particular film was more or less a game changer for Jamie Lee Curtis. Prior to this, most of the films she appeared in were horror flicks.
That's RIGHT!!! Now that you mention it....
This was the first time Jamie showed her breasts according to the reference in Scream.
Of course mother of JLC do Psycho.
1. Aykroyd made his bones first on the original Saturday Night Live.
2. He also worked with John Belusi in the Blues Brothers. Worth a first time/share. You'll enjoy it. Trust me.
3. Beeks is played by the late Paul Gleason. He also played Richard/Dick Vernon in The Breakfast Club and
the idiot deputy chief in Die Hard.
4. The police officer that tells Louis the powder is PCP is Frank Oz the voice for many of the Muppets and Yoda.
5. The studio didn't want Jamie Lee Curtis for the roll of Ophelia because they only saw her as a scream queen
but Landis insisted on casting her. Good for us.😍😍
5. I like how sympathetic Coleman is to Billy Ray. You can tell early on that he has no love for the Dukes.
6. In the restaurant when Billy Ray is about to speak it's a play on the old EF Hutton commercial.
"When EF Hutton speaks everybody listens"
7. When Don Ameche says "Fuck him" regarding his brother he insisted that they use only one take because
it didn't want to swear at all.
Thanks for helping me re-watch (most of this) again.
In the movie "coming to America" The Duke brothers have a cameo appearance.
Hunny I've never seen you laugh this much! So glad you enjoyed it, it's a holiday season staple 🎄
"Why are they taking their clothes off? It's a party." Kind of answered your own question there 😅
"Beef jerky time!" I've said this before with other reactors, but I love the way Eddie Murphy says that line, Too funny. One of my fave 80's comedies, I remember seeing it in a drive-in with a friend of mine and we were laughing our heads off between popcorn munches....you could hear people laughing in their cars all over the theater. Great memory and a wonderful reaction--keep 'em coming!
One of my favorite movies. Trading Places was written and produced by Aaron Russo. Russo also Wrote and produced Bette Midler's hit movie- The Rose. Russo integral in bringing Led Zeppelin to the U.S. for their very first tour in the late 60's. His business and Hollywood success brought him to be invited to the inner circles of the elite where he made friends with Nick Rockefeller of the famous elite Rockefeller family. Rockefeller let him in on and was shown the inner workings of how these oligarchs ran the world above and beyond elected western governments. He refused to be apart of these secret societies and this was a major influence in his writing the screenplay for Trading Places. Later in life he would learn that he had terminal Cancer. Knowing that he wasn't long for this world he decided to put out a documentary called: America: Freedom to Fascism. This movie exposed how the International Banking Cartel controls the world Through the ownership of Central Fiat banking systems such as the Federal Reserve. This documentary woke me up to the likes of Ron Paul, who is a feature interview in the film. It was this interview that caused me to become a conservative. Not a Republican, but a political conservative by its true definition. In that gov. should be kept as small and non-intrusive as possible. The chaos we are experiencing today is due to the silent majority trying to return back the control of our government from these oligarchs. That is why the have to demonize Trump and others at every turn. Remember, He is not a life long politician and if you look into his past he has always spoke truth to this power. Trump is not special, they will demonize and destroy anyone who challenges them, like democrats Tulsi Gabbard, Dennis Kucinich and conservatives like Ron & Rand Paul, Desantis & Kari Lake. Oligarch George Soros was a turncoat jew, and as a boy worked with the German SS in exposing jews so they could be hunted down. Soros has for years usurped various democratic governments through financing Chaos. Presently he financed and provides legal help to the Corrupt BLM and Anti-fa movements that allowed violent rioting and burning of businesses taking advantage of the plight of marginalized communities and weaponizing them. Much like Hitler did with the Brown Shirts.

I send a good friend the “Merry New Year” photo every year.
Watch "Harlem Nights", Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx. Classic!
The pawn dealer was Bo Diddley .
Epic classic. I have a feeling there's a ton of fun movies you need to watch id this is a first time watch. That's a win for us viewers :D
The Golden Child is my favorite Eddie Murphy movie.
One of my favorite movies
Beverly Hills Cop Movies are COOL!
"Is he that arrogant?" Uh, yeah. Pretty much. At least in the beginning.
Casting facts. The producers of this film wanted Richard Pryor (for Valentine) and Gene Wilder (for Winthorpe) but neither of them were available for the movie. Also, they first asked Ronnie Barker to play Coleman the butler but he turned the role down. So we got Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd and Denholm Elliot. I do love this movie but can you imagine what it would have been like if Pryor, Wilder and Barker had said yes to the offers?
The pawn shop guy who bought the watch was Bo Diddley
"Who's been puttin out their kools on my floor!"
I guess that was the first time Gus Fring got locked up.
Frank Oz made a special appearance in this movie as the cop doing inventory of Winthorpe’s things and finds the cellophane bag. He was the voice of Yoda and a bunch of the Muppets and some of the characters on Sesame Street.
Thank you for the gratuitous editing 😋
I don't think Coleman really wanted anything to do with the scheme. I think he was forced into it.
Well, yeah. He was in fact employed by the Duke Brothers, not Louis Winthorp, therefore bound by their rules.
@@fredzeppelin3969 That's true. I could just tell by his actions that his heart wasn't into it. Like when he pretended not to know who Winthorpe was. But I definitely knew it when he told Valentine "Just be yourself. They can't take that away from you." It was like he knew that Valentine's new life wouldn't really last. This is my favorite Eddie Murphy movie, This one and Coming to America. I remember seeing both of them in the theater. I was wondering how many Saturday NIght Live alumni were in this movie, I know there was Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, obviously. There was also Jim Belushi, who played the man in the gorilla suit, and Al Franken, who played one of the baggage handlers.
The Duke Brothers have a cameo in Coming to America, btw.
$5 then would be like $15 today, but for a Christmas bonus, it is still pathetically low. In Finland that amount really would only get you a single movie theatre ticket without any popcorn or a drink, today. The tickets alone are more than 10 euros nowadays.
Love the golden child
I really believe you would enjoy The Blues Brothers
Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi
Jamie Lee Curtis in a Fish Called Wanda absolutely hilarious 😂
Eddie Murphy at his best !
Other Good Eddie Murphy Movies:
1. BOOMERANG
2. Nutty Professor
2. Beverley Hills Cop 1 & 2
4. Shrek 2
5. 48 Hours
6. Doctor Dolittle
I love this film & still watch it now & again, it's still a laugh riot. Loved your reaction, glad you enjoyed it.
16:11 She got a new man pretty quick!
28:10 "F*ck him!" LOL
I'm not sure if you've seen any of the Indiana Jones movies, but the actor who played Coleman the butler, Denholm Elliott, is in two films from that franchise as Marcus Brody, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade".
Seen this so many times. Stone cold classic. 👌🏼
6:06 -- anyone catch Giancarlo Eposito from Breaking Bad and The Boys?
If you go back and rewatch "Coming to America", you will notice two homeless men, who are the Duke brothers.
And now … Coming to America!
Great movie
Don Amache was so much of a gentleman that after he take he had to say the N word he apologized profusely to Eddie Murphy. Eventually Murphy pulled him aside and had it so both of them said the word a bunch of times together to get it out and make Amache more comfortable.
Oh, I can't wait!
I would love to see you react to Life with Eddie Murphy…love your energy♥️♥️
Those two men in the jail cell. You’ve heard of a yes man? I think he’s a Yeah man. 😁
Eddie Murphy is comedic gold. I still laugh and always watch this movie when it's broadcast.
This is a great movie one of my favorites
Lots of great lines in that movie and it's a great holiday movie, no matter what anyone else says.
Now, rewatch Coming to America, you'll notice the callback scene.
The only reactor who looks away from nudity, honest reaction, but hilarious nonetheless.
That’s what I’m saying. I don’t know a man or woman who turned from that beauty except this gal 🤦🏻♀️
Bachelor Party - On the eve of his wedding to his longtime girlfriend, Debbie (Tawny Kitaen), unassuming nice guy Rick (Tom Hanks) is dragged out for a night of debauchery by his friends 1984
I laugh with you watching this.
“Thank you ya been hepful”
Now you need to watch Coming To America. :)
You would like Brewster's Millions with Richard Pryor and John Candy. Richard plays a minor league baseball pitcher who inherits a fortune but with impossible stipulations in order to keep it. John is his lovable best pal.
love this movie so much
um 'lionel Joseph' was a choice! Different time the 80s
If you want more Eddie Murphy, you have to watch Beverly Hills Cop and 48Hrs.
You need to react to Beverly hills cop he great in this
I wanna know what happened with Beeks!!! Sequel!!! :)
Well of course, Day Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, both being comedic actors, it should come as no surprise that they would play extraordinarily well off of each other in a comedy _movie._ 🤷
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
please react to Wind River 2017
👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
Want to know the value of money..............borrow some!
Jamie Lee Curtis puts her best out front in this role. 😝
do you recognize Senator Al Frankin?
That's former, resigned in disgrace, Senator.
@@001Flange Keep your political views off this channel.
@@karendeloof8306 make me.
@@001Flange Okay, how about I ask you to stop. I come to this channel to enjoy music and her reactions to movies and would appreciate .
1:20 - he's not arrogant or lazy. It's his butler's job to open the door and that's why Louis waited patiently for Coleman to put on the gloves, walk down and open the door. People need to be allowed to do their job so they can have self-respect and sense of accomplishment, especially in servant's job.
what????
23:44 🤦 Oh dear. Well _this_ part of the movie has not aged well.
Unfortunately, Eddie has made a fair amount of bad movies. Bowfinger is a good one. The Nutty Professor 1 is also good.
Don't watch Murphy's stand up. Its vile.
Not that funny
