I like this one a lot too! There is a note in it that stimulates my nose in a good way. Not sure what it is but I enjoy it. Golden Secret is also good and smells like 1 Million. Mediterráneo is a great fresh and green scent, perfect for the Spring. Banderas has some quality fragrances at budget prices.
Totally! I'll have to give Mederraneo a try- I haven't smelled that one yet 🤝 Any thoughts on The Icon Elixir? I was also thinking of ordering a bottle of that one to review for you guys!
@@topnotesfragrance I have not tried Icon Elixer yet. So that would be interesting. I tried the first Icon and did not like it. Smelled old and dated to me. Weak performance as well. Gone in a hour. I actually ordered it twice to see if I had a bad bottle but it was the same both times. Hopefully Elxir is different. 😂
Hi, I just followed your channel recently and I must say your channel is very informative and I really like your way of describing perfume. In your opinion, which is better this one or antonio banderas the icon.
Welcome aboard! Thank you for saying that- I personally like king of seduction because the performance is better and I feel like it's a bit more unique- the icon shares a lot of common ground with sauvage and similar fragrances so for me I usually reach for this one! :)
I think King of Seduction Absolute is the best of the Seduction line; it's like Invictus but not as loud & sweet & more mature due to the darker notes like vetiver & leather (which comes out in the dry-down), and it last well over 8hrs. Blue Seduction & Black Seduction are good too; I like the creamy facet that Blue Seduction adds to the Versace Man Eau Fraiche profile, and Black Seduction is just Polo Double Black without the coffee & juicy berry like fruitiness instead of mango. Antonio Banderas fragrance are good bang for your buck, and highly slept on. Good review, it's refreshing to see unpopular scents reviewed.

Can it be worn in summer? I strongly dislike leather notes
@@Jiggy609 yes, it's great for the summer, the leather not isn't prominent, it's just there to keep it from being too sweet & give it some depth but it's mainly a sweet aquatic like Invictus.
This is one of the best perfumes, but what are more like it

Hi I love this channel! I had a question abt Baccarat Rouge 540. Im looking for an orangey mandarin ingredient to put into the mix that you made in your tutorial. The EDP version seems to have a slight orangey smell with the ambroxan hedione ethyl mix.
Thank you so much!! You could always use mandarin italy- the mandarin essential oil on perfumersapprentice! Mandarin aldehyde also gives a tiny bit of sparkle but id use it at 5% concenntration when you work with it since it's really powerful stuff! :)

Can you please make a list of the baseline ingredients in perfume making, nothing specific just the bare requirements for any fragrance? That would be really helpful.
Of course! All you need is a beaker, 1ml pipettes, 95%alcohol, a milligram scale, and whatever aroma materials you choose. These can be naturals like essential oils and isolates or they can be synthetic aromachemicals. There is no one material or materials that are necessary to make a fragrance other than the alcohol that carries it. That being said, most modern fragrances consist of heavy doses of 4 key aromachemicals- Iso E Super, Galaxolide, Hedione, and Isomethyl Ionone Gamma. These 4 ingredients make up a famous accord called the Grojsman accord named after famed perfumer sofia grojsman (sophia? Not sure on spelling)
This grojsman accord can make up even half of the overall perfume concentrate, or more! Some fragrances of today don't have any of those ingredients at all, though they usally have at least some. Also, a big trend with today's mens fragrances that I see are that they lean towards using dihydromyrcenol and ambroxan/ambroxide in relatively large amounts like 5-10% of the total formula and they rely on heavy doses of woody super-amber molecules like Ambermax and Amber Xtreme! Lots of "elixirs" and "absolutes" coming out these days...hope this helps!

Hmmm thats a tough one- I'm not aware of any super close alternatives right now but maybe acqua essenziale blu could fit the same general niche as this one!
