“And that’s all there is too it,” says Beth. Best, simplest explanation of partial seams I’ve found in 1O years quilting. I had to watch it twice cz I couldn’t believe it was that simple , then I tried it and it really is.
This is a versatile block. Very easy but give a a striking finish to the layouts. The solid blocks reminded me of licorice.😁❤🇦🇺
I love your channel because you talk less and show more. Thank you
Very cute block
Beth you are a whiz! Looks fun. With all my fabric just think what I could come up with. Thanks so much for your tutorial
Wonderful easy block!! Thank you. Love the music and excellent presentation.
I have been following your tutorials and I really enjoy them. You're so cool and calm and demonstrates flawlessly. It's so relaxing to watch you especially when you are using fabric stash, very practical. I have so many of them and won't run out of ideas just watching you in your sewing room. Thank you and keep on quilting.
All your work is beautiful !!!!!! You make it look so easy !!!!!!!
Thank you for all your incredible work !!!!!!
Love this versatile block. Thank you
I just discovered this channel. I love it. It is so easy to get uptight watching others who demand perfection. I had kind of lost my joy in making quilts.
This makes me want to get going again.
I simply love this block❤
Wow!! So simple. You are a genius ❤
I love this block.I made a king size with scraps and it's my favorite. I love your video's.
I love it. Thank you very much.
ThanksBeth, that’s so cute.
I love your simple peaceful approach....I love your quilts!!!!
Love the SD pattern.
So relaxing. Love how you don’t stress about pressing and perfection on seams and cutting. Thank you 😊 I’m a beginner and grandma so im always struggling with the calculations the sides I should cut etc. my sewing machine is not a fancy digital either so most videos I see have all these specs I don’t have makes me believe I won’t be able to do many projects because of this😞
The great thing about all this is that you don't have to have an expensive machine to make a beautiful quilt! Or tote, or baby blanket, or pot holders or...well, you get the picture! Many things are possible without an "AI" machine!
That's just not right. I have been sewing since I was 10. That's over almost 60 years. I have used every thing from a cheep Sears Kenmore I got for my 12th birthday, to my Mother's beautiful fancy Singer to an inexpensive Singer of my own to make my kids school clothes and so on and so forth. It isn't the machine that makes the sewer, it is the person behind the machine. Practice makes better but that's true with every thing. If you are a cook, I bet the first time you made gravy it may not have been perfect but if you have been cooking a long time I bet it is by now, The same way with sewing. Beth drives me crazy not ironing! For real! But I love watching her so I just pretend she does it to annoy me. She makes some beautiful things and she is so calm isn't she? I'm rapid fire all the time. My husband says I make him tired just watching me. I iron EVERYTHING! More than once. I think it makes my seams more percise, but hey, I get to sew my way and Beth gets to sew her way and you my friend can sew your way. We each be ourselves and all still be friends. Good luck with your sewing. Need help, ask me.
You can do it! I have 2 machines, one a heavy duty inexpensive singer and a janome. The expensive janome spends so much time in the shop because it's so sensitive. So I spend a lot of time on the Singer. There's something to be said for simple!
I made pillows, quilts, drapes, etc., with a regular machine. You don’t need a digital machine. Nice but not necessary.
I love how you don’t iron as you go. Very refreshing that you don’t worry about every little thing. 😊
Thank you. Gonna do this ❤️❤️❤️
Looks rather quick.
I love it when CZcams gives me a reminder of your amazing blocks 🤩 I’d love this block 🥰 It looks so complicated and you made it look so easy 👏👏 Thanks Beth 👍🇬🇧

Great quilt!
Love your blocks :)
Very effective 👍🏼💙
Thank you for another great tutorial. Thinking of my fabric stash and what fabric will work with this block!😁
Beth that's an interesting block and it made you a fast quilt, Do you live out in the country on a homestead or a farm? I wish I had chosen to do that instead of picking a home in town but when I bought my house I was working as a Registered Nurse and had to drop my daughter off at school so it wouldn't have worken then. At least I get to have 3 chickens and a large garden! How has your weather been? It is Hot and Dry here. Today 103. Tomorrow more of the same. I have to go out and turn a box fan on for the chickens and maybe spray some water around the pen for them to help them cool off. Thank you for the video I appreciate your time and effort in making it for us.
Love your channel, your presentation for using up remnants is simple and not complicated and looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Love this but I love the baskets quilt too!!! You know I like whatever you make...
I just found you and so glad I did. I love this block and I'm making a single one right now to gift to a friend as a mug rug. I find your presentation such a sweet blessing and the music is perfect as well. Makes me think of my dad. Thank you for doing this for. I am now subscribed. Peace to you and yours ☺
Hi, I've been quilting 50 years and have seen lots and lots of quilt blocks but yours Is one of the best. Simple, straight forward and makes up so easy. It made me feel happy. I have a question though. what made the blocks appear to rotate, especially the blue ones. Thank you for the great block and vlog
Hello Beth, I like this square dance quilt. And the fact that depending on what color strips you use. It changes the color sequence of the square. But I must admit the beginning part was a little bit confusing? Because I could not really tell if you started sewing the 1 and 1/2 strip unit to the center square half way down that center square? And rotated the other ones and a half inch strips around the center square. A close-up of how you started it would have been helpful. Thanks for this video I will go back and watch it several times to see if I can catch where you first started sewing beginning and end spot.
Sorry it was not clear. The FIRST seam is a partial seam. The other three are complete. After getting all four pieces on you complete that first seam. Hope that helps.
Love the quilt that is in the back, do you have a tutorial about it
Me gusta mucho tu tutorial, puedes hacer uno para, que me enseñes como terminar por detrás? Muchas gracias
Oh, I really like this block! I have a bunch of Christmas print scrap fabric, so I guess I'll name my quilt, "Christmas Square Dance" 😊. The music background was just beautiful. Would you mind sharing the name of the artist and album? Thanks for whatever help you can give me on that.
@@bethshibleyquilts - So you have no idea of who the artist is or the name of the musical score?
It is from iMovie. I had to go back and check. The song is Nuestra casa. That is all the info it gives. Hope that helps.
@@bethshibleyquilts - Great! Thanks for going to the trouble to get this information. I'm hoping to find an album of this kind of music to have as background music while I'm sewing. 😀
Does the PDF pattern include how to make this with wider strips? I have some jelly rolls that I would love to use. Need to know how to calculate the center square. Thanks!
Did you precast the fabrics? Love this pattern!
Do you mean precut? I chose fabrics from my fabric cupboard that were reds and blues to make the first block shown. Happy sewing!
@@bethshibleyquilts I'm sorry, I meant prewash the fabrics! I have had some very good reds that have run in the wash.
@@gfrosie5997 Sometimes I DO prewash...but not always. It IS good insurance against running, though.
If still make the center block 3 1/2, can I just use jelly rolls for the strips? I am assuming it will work but just make a bigger block. I have some rolls my mom gave me for Christmas, so I want to use them up. Thanks in advance.
I would make a paper mock-up of my idea and then, make a trial block out of scraps before doing anything with my jelly rolls. I once cut up a whole quilt's worth of fabric without making the sample block only to discover there was an error in the pattern I was using. I would also guess that you might want to go up to a 4 1/2" square in the middle to keep the same proportions/balance as Beth is using. Using your paper mock-up you can make it both ways and find which one you like the best.
Por favor , me podrías decir de que marca es tu cortador de tela , ese pequeño que corta las piezas en este video?? El blanco.
Could you use jelly roll and make a larger block?
You can...but the blocks will be VERY big. It's amazing what 1" will add. 😉
Thanks for the response! I wasn’t thinking about that! I guess that would be a giant square!
What I love about these tutorials is that you are so laid back and relaxed when demonstrating your techniques in quilting, think that is why I look for your videos on a daily basis. Keep them coming Beth
