I never tire of the theme tune
That deco style lidded candy dish may have been a Jeanette piece, of course embellished by a home hobby enthusiast. LOL.
I've already removed the paint and it looks super fantastic!
I’m so happy you found the green and black tray to match your console set, and in such great condition too! Please get the Art Deco desk, you can use it in your basement, don’t let someone chalk paint it. 😢 I love 💕 you expensive $5.00 table, can’t believe the glass wasn’t smashed or cracked, and a very cool 😎 radio.
I was impressed with the way you randomly matched the green and black tray with your console set, fabulous! And then as you're showing the radio you said "Someone's been living in here and pooping and peeing in here, yep, I'm used to that." 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just so non chalantly like it was part of the history. You're killin' me Scott! 🦋
Scott you sent me down the rabbit hole on that radio! Great history. I found a picture of it in perfect condition and it is beautiful!! Can't wait for restoration and hope you do a video because restored the change will be awesome!
Radio history is fascinating!
I wonder if you can clean and restore the painted metal sides of the radio with automobile products?
LOL!! I wonder how many of us went down that rabbit hole with you! 🤣
Loved the hutch/desk & would put it in a bedroom.
Also those 2 pink champagne glasses with the gold rims were neat.
Definitely cool in a bedroom!
Wonderful video Scott. Love the old radio and listening to you explain all the interior 😊. Yes, we will be singing Jingle Bells before you know it 😂🎄. Have a good night!
Thanks not only for taking us along, but also for all the shared info!
Wow the green and black centre handled tray that matches your console set.Oh it looks fab together.
Grannie from Tweety Bird 😂😂😂😂
I need another radio like a hole in the head 😂😂 I’m dyin 😂
Tidbit tray matched up besutifully...what a stroke of luck!
The tidbit dish is wonderful!! The dish is a great addition to your collection. As always, I want to thank you for your videos and live sales. I always enjoy seeing your interesting finds. All the best!! 😊
Thanks for the shop along. I can just imagine the expression on you face when you found the green and black tidbit tray it looks great with the other pieces.😊
I did a dance!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 I would pay money to see that! LOL.
Y M C A marching band style!😆😆😊
Neither Fenton nor Anchor-Hocking ground the bottom of thier tumblers, might be Cambridge. Congrats on the center handle tray. A marching band version of YMCA, where did you ever find that?!
The radio is a time capsule!
Wonderful stuff today! That secretary…. Oh my. And I’m glad you found the green and black glass to add to your set!
The champagne flutes are beautiful.I'd use them for any cold drink.Elegant.
Thanks, as always, for teaching us so much.
I went deep into the radio museum website about your Kolster K20 , fascinating and I hope you can restore it. I love the secretary~lucky:) Thanks for taking us shopping.
YMCA band style was killing me! You are so 😁!
Here in North Central Idaho, I have never, ever, found the gems you have back east. there i said it.
The Art Deco candy dish will be lovely without the paint.
Love the desk!
Thanks for bringing us along. ;) 😉
I now want a 1920's 400lb radio...too cool!❤
My grandparents called cabinets and closets a ‘press’. My Ohio relatives also called soft drinks, ‘Pop’. They also called me a ‘Kentucky Hillbilly’. Those shelves in your thrifts stores certainly tell the stories of the passing of time, culture, and lives lived. You do a wonderful job of storytelling. Thanks!
Hi I’m from Glasgow we always called cupboards the press.🇬🇧😀
@@ladytron1724 My Scottish great grandparents came to America, raised draft horses, logged timber, and built riverboats and barges. They lived on the river. They farmed the river’s flood plain. They were a tough and rowdy bunch, but believed in the power of education. They knew it was just as powerful to have a working brain in your head as it was to have money in your pocket. Peace from a Scottish brother.
@@rickeydonald4756 Thank you🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴and best wishes from Scotland.Lillian x
Oh how nice Scott to see your treasured collections displayed in your new home, very fitting 🤩💖🙏
Scott, this was a fabulous “shop along” video! You found some great things! Loved the Deco tid-bit tray that matches your console & candle set! 👍🏻
I love your china closet, cabinet more than the one in the shop.
What a glorious find on that tidbit tray. And it looks stunning with your bowl and candle sticks. You sure live in a great place to thrift. Love your thrift alongs lol. I hope you live sale the ruby red glasses as I I’ve the dishes and bowls etc from my mother. 😍
I would totally remove the paint from that very cute candy dish 👍🏼
Thanks for another interesting and informative thrift store video
I love the pink lamps.
Love the art deco table.
Green tidbit tray! 😍
Oh Scott! I’m watching right now… that secretary is unbelievable!! The top, pediment reads as TOTALLY deco!!❤😅
Scott .... That Radio is a Classic. Can't wait to watch and see your restore it to its former glory. And, it's well and richly deserved. Great video, thank you 👍👏😉
Great video Scotty! Thanks for sharing!
So thrilled that you adopt orphaned stems because I do too. My vintage/antique mix and match glasses set is loved by the whole family. Actually looks very cool ☺️
I bet from a mouse perspective the inside of the radio looks like the movie set of Metropolis.
All of the furniture crushed me. I’ll never have the experience to find those pieces. Unless there is a house for sale on your block? I love your life. ❤️🐩
Thats exactly what I thought about the mouse and the radio🤗🤗
@@helenbailey8419 😘😁
Almost unbelievable about that console tray...looks as is Goodwill was paying YOU to take it away!
LOVE your green and black glass set. What a fabulous find!
Hi Scott, I absolutely love your channel. I learn so much from your knowledge. I I especially love the radio!
Scott I LOVE the YMCA band version
Loved your set of green and black glass and that beautiful old furniture. Can't wait to see the end table and radio restored.
Gorgeous tidbit dish - looks amazing with its mates. Please tell me that you bought the Manhattan cake plate (platter??).
I passed on several of the gold rimmed stemware the other day. Only one had no flaws! Heartbreaking, but stuff happens! I also have the tidbit in orange 🧡
I would simply clean and wax the radio case and refinish the top. A good wax would bring out the faux wood grain on the case, without removing the original finish.
You scored on the green and black tidbit tray. It looks great with your collection.
Love the rockin' music! Very 60's. Wait here comes the old timey stuff. I would have loved to hear your conversation with Vinny regarding pantyhose. I wore them from 7th grade all through high school, college and 30 years of work. Then I found out nobody wears them anymore. That green tidbit tray is amazing! Oh my gosh it fits right in with your existing ones. Don't get mad....I would paint that table black. How cool against the blue glass!
Hey Scott!! Let's see what goodies you find!
Hey Will let's do a live sale together!
I ❤ Salem. My Chibi joined him at the rainbow bridge. I miss her so much. 😢
I'm sorry.
Congratulations for finding the green/black tidbit tray for your collection Scott! Great set!
Again, such fantastic finds. The blue glass table gave me detached retina!
Une flûte a champagne ! 😂
Bonjour de la France , Scott !
J’adore votre chaîne depuis son début !
Merci encore de votre vision des États-Unis !
Love the Deco secretary!! And the etched bowl. And what a wonderful little table.!! I really love the outside of the radio. I'm not an old radio person, I'm a unusual box person. I Love that box, the detail is amazing!!!!!
I love that deco table
hi Scott that Table will turn out beautif2tal.
That piece of tape across that first China cabinet makes me 😢. Decades ago we bought an Art Deco bar from England and it had a big piece of tape across the front and some stain was pulled off the veneer when it was removed. I kind of doctored it over the years but I wish it hadn't been taped. Ugh.
😂😂😂another radio..well you've got enough horns(sorry cones needed) for it.The metal wood grain effect is unusual Perhaps one you don't own.Haven't you got a cone speaker that was made of cardboard with green woven fabric that you bought at the flea market with the lantern like the one in the house recently that was an estate sale?
I do!
Your console looks great with those pieces!
Oooooh the cobalt glass table for five dollars!
I was going to say “why did they
Paint that?”😂
Scott next time you visit old historical NewCastle stop by manor antiques! Nothing you could resell because the prices are high but beautiful furniture and pieces!! Have a wonderful day friend! Sending hugs ❤
This was a great episode Sir 💜
NS George Rainbow it said on the 1930's platter at the beginning.
Yes the green tray is fantastic!!
The Art deco table what is it? The shelf under the glas what is it for? The departements?
That is a book trough under the blue glass.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 Aha ok!
😊❤❤❤
Merry Christmas to all
I hope you go back and save that desk. I can see someone buying it and painting it.😢
We called them china closets in northern iowa, too
What is the background music which started about 14:30? Lovely choice
Up and At Em played by Baltimore Society Orchestra.
I came to see if anyone asked already 'cause I was going to! Love this style/period of music!!
Love the deco flea market table...would make a great bar. Dang I bought those red Fenton georgian glasses for like $50 10 yrs ago; u scored. Curious, how do you remove paint from glass? Hate when people paint glass.
Shudda bought it!
Did I miss the rest of you fixing the dollhouse?
Naw I will later this summer.
Hi, Scott! The table with the mirrored top, why did the maker create it with those upended slats on the bottom shelf? What was the purpose? Thanks
That section is called a book thought. Very popular on 1930’s end tables.
What will you use to remove the paint from the candy dish?
Four 0000 steel wool and water. I’ve already removed the paint and it looks awesome.
Scott, did you lose your initial in your black onyx ring?
Yes...sadly it fell of and is lost.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 so sorry, maybe a jeweler can replace it.
Any idea what flea market Scott stopped at?
Columbus New Jersey
Thank you kindly! Wonderful video - so cool to be able to hold pieces of history in your hands like that radio
Scott, I have some beautiful deco stemware I want to show you via email, can I get your email address?
Sure......oldcuriosityshop99@gmail.com
